We ate here recently, after having previously eaten there about a year ago. We obviously liked it well enough the first time to come back for a second go-round, but wouldnt do it again unless we substantially changed our dining choices. The interior is well themed and with the native French staff you do feel transported to Paris (not unique to this Epcot dining location), and the service was fine. We were seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time, which is about par for the course for Epcot restaurants. We had the French Onion soup which was exceptional on our previous visit. This time, my wife had a bowl full of cheese and bread, with very little (if any) broth. It was basically just a giant melted cheese ball. The previous time it was excellent, so perhaps this was just an anomaly. I had the beef short ribs, which were tender and well cooked. I agree with another reviewer who said that the noodles that come with this dish dont really seem to belong, and the sauce has a strong taste that doesnt really jive with the beef. My wife made the mistake of ordering the macaroni and cheese. Having lived in the South for a number of years and eaten at places where macaroni and cheese can be a legitimate stand-alone entree item, we had relatively high expectations, which to us didnt seem unreasonable since this was a stand-alone entree item. We would have been as well served cooking Kraft MacnCheese back in our resort as eating what was served. It was bereft of flavor, and appeared to have been pre-cooked (probably several hours earlier) and then had some type of flavorless cheese placed on top and broiled until it was melted. The noodles underneath were barely warm. Even our kids wouldnt eat it. The creme brulee for dessert was excellent and was the highlight of the meal. There are much better (and cheaper) dining options in Epcot, but if you have to go to Chefs de France, you could easily order one bowl of French Onion Soup to split between two adults, an entree each (aside from the macaroni and cheese, which I wouldnt inflict on enemies), and a creme brulee to share for dessert. Unfortunately this plan doesnt jive with the "prix fixe" menu, nor the Disney Dining Plan, so if you are set on doing either of those, I would look elsewhere.

Voltarei!

I want to start off by saying, about two weeks ago, I had the best day of my life at Epcot. I went with a group of friends for a friends birthday. We started at Mexico, and did the loop all the way down to the U.K. Every country was fantastic. There wasnt a single moment when I thought anything less of "This place is absolutely amazing." Then, we arrived at France. I have been working in customer service for about three years now, and I have learned a lot from it. But then came Elisabeth from Le Mans. I dont know if the fact that I fell in love with her made me write this, and it probably has a huge influence in this review, but she showed me that day what exemplary customer service can do to a man. It made me wonder if I have at least once made someone feel as cared for as she made me feel in all these years of working customer service. I know it is beyond me, but I have to ask the management of this restaurant to give this angel a raise. Whatever you are paying her is not enough! The food could have been cooked below trash standards, which it definitely was not, and I still would have left with an ear-to-ear smile. Elisabeth from Le Mans, you gave me a memory I will never forget! I love you!!! I am coming back to Epcot and running straight to France!!!

While we were visiting epcot we made reservations for a table of 6. 5 adults, one kiddo. We had a great time and excellent service... until the end. We had 3 separate checks but the total bill came to roughly $260 (after tax) The other courses in our party wanted to pay cash but didnt have quite enough for a good tip, so the 5th person in our party and us said we would leave enough to cover. We left over a $50 tip which left over 20% before tax (which is custimary), and right at 20% after tax. The waiter literally chased us out of the restaurant asking the party with cash for more of a tip. We explained what happened and he said something to the effect of, well if he didnt think the service was good enough than fine. We shouldnt have even had to explain. this completely ruined the experience for us. We wont be going back to that restaurant. Hopefully the rest of the restaurants arent this way at epcot.

Recommend not getting the prix fixe meal. Because it meant to come out fast and with minimal effort, it taste like hotel banquet food. You can tell it was made to feed in bulk. Basically they took it out of the warmer and plated it. Onion soup was watery. Wasnt thick and rich like you would expect from a French restaurant. beef bourguignon, really was one dimensional. Nothing"wow" about it. Taste like something you would get on an airplane. Poulet fermier à la Layonnaise is a fancy word for something that taste like grocery store rotisserie chicken. Portions are huge. Every inch of your plate is covered with food. Hugely mediocre food. . . Desserts were good. Service was impeccable. Crème Brûlée was light and creamy. They made that right. Meringue aux fruits rouges was overly sweet, but still tasted good.

Absolutely terrible service, but good food. Lets see: we sat with empty glasses for most of the time at our table (actually asked another waitress to get us some water - she did not), we had to remind our waiter that we had ordered food (brought it to us after clearly sitting under the heat lamps for a long period of time - plates were hot and food was dry on top), then we sat around with empty plates for at least 15 minutes requesting our bill (this is a lifetime at Disney). When we finally got the bill I had to ask the waiter to take our plates, and he wanted me to sign off on the check and tip him before we got our desert. This was honestly the worst 1.5 hours we spent at the Disney parks during our five days there. Eat here at your own risk.
