I’m sure this would be a great place, but there were a few things that were off to the point where I feel like I need to leave a review in hopes of it being seen by the owners. To begin with, the waiter, Joseph, felt the need to eavesdrop on our conversation and tell my boyfriend that what he was saying to was wrong. He was not wrong, and my boyfriend even went as far as showing the server proof because he felt like he was being called a liar in front of our whole family. The server was not a part of the conversation, so we all felt like it was rude of him to interject and tell my boyfriend that he was wrong, when he wasnt and Joseph even ended up being proved wrong. It’s impolite to have done that. As a former server, it was very poor service on his part. Our appetizers arrived while our menus were not taken from us yet. The table should have been cleared before those appetizers arrived. The mussels tasted very fishy, and our drinks were only refilled at the end after our entrées had arrived and we were all almost finished with our meals. The food definitely needs more seasoning. Not enough salt or pepper at all. There is no plating, and everything kind of just looks thrown together in a hurry. Our dessert arrived BEFORE we had our table cleared off again, and silverware came AFTER the dessert arrived. Hershey’s syrup should never be drizzled on a $12 éclair with pastry cream that is clearly not fresh nor homemade. Thank Joseph for starting the experience on a bad foot by insinuating that one of the guests he was serving was a liar. Most likely will not be visiting again.

Wow! what a great restaurant! Everything was fantastic beginning from the warm greeting from the hostess, to the bartender and creative cocktails, to our server Shelly who was absolutely marvelous, to the food and wine. The wine list is beautiful with lots of great selections and the pricing is reasonable for 5th ave. I cant rate it 5 stars because nobody is perfect. There is always something to improve from service to the food, but really we were so very pleased by the experience. Our food was spot on. The dessert and digestif selections are amazing. I would strongly encourage Vincenzo to hire a Sommelier for that wonderful wine list. A lot of folks just dont understand French wines, regions, etc....just a small piece to complete a dazzling puzzle!

We had a really good experience at The French. The place was busy and our server was good. I did call and ask for preferred seating... Explained that it was my first visit and had a VIP in town with me. We were stuck in the middle of the restaurant and our server was brand new... But the food was good, so I will allow it. The food is very expensive, though. Not sure it is worth the price... The bread they provide at the start of your meal is delicious and the cheese plate is fantastic. I could get that and a salad and be satisfied. Busy place and authentic. If you are looking for a night out, and something special, try The French.

We recently went her for our anniversary and had a great experience. The prices are as expected for a french restaurant, but the proportions were generous and we had enough left over for lunch the next day. We split a charcuterie appetizer for $13 which was more than sufficient for four people. My wife had a delicious duck confit for $33, which had two legs and thighs served with a yummy kale dish. I had steak frites for $32, which is a hanger steak that was served perfectly medium rare with bearnaise sauce and a generous portion of french fries.

A Treasure on 5th Ave! We were referred through the sister restaurant Tulia Osteria and there was no surprise that the experience was delightful! Fun, unique menu in a setting that was reminiscent of Europe-lovely outdoor option, quaint and cozy interior seating. The poulet di roti is my new favorite, and the beet salad was lush. Looking forward to eating there seven days in a row to try the daily specials!!

Wir haben gut gegessen, UNSERE Bedienung war aber leider eine Katastrophe. Hatte Blattspinat im Teller, die nicht weich genug gekocht waren. Doch werden wir dem "The French" eine 2. Chance geben.

The hottest new restaurant in Old Naples! Rustic, farm to table French - eclectic menu with energetic atmosphere. We enjoyed everything from Mussels to French onion soup & salad. Nice selection of entrees to choose from. My husband chose the homemade ravioli and I chose the steak frites. Great presentation and flavor! Bon Appetite !!!

An interesting selection of rustic French foods. The preparation was well done. Certainly more than adequate in the size of portions. Staff was upbeat and very helpful in helping to sort through the options. Liked the wine selection - interesting choices. Parking can be a bit of a challenge being at the end of Fifth. Will return.

Went for late lunch . The charcuterie was not very good. The salad with "salt roasted" beats. Were not roasted not even salted. They were by my best guess fresh from a can. An expensive, flavorless experience. The inside is decorated nicely. It reminded me of the bellsmen bar at the Carlile in NYC.

Not sure why this cuisine is called French here...the French would be ashamed. I had the chicken paillard - it was over seasoned with lemon pepper and looked white as if it was pre-prepared in a pouch, potatoes were cold directly from the fridge an tasted old.

This is a new restaurant in town, that has become my absolute favorite! My husband and I are foodies and eat out nearly every night. Vincenzo has done a fabulous job creating an excellent menu AND a great atmosphere!

Great food. Absolutely disappointing service. A disappearing staff and one hour plus wait for food. Shocking.
