I called last Sunday (5/21) to make a reservation for my friends and family to go celebrate my birthday there. Whoever I spoke to explained to me that they were not taking reservations for Saturday May 27th due to being short staff. However, when I explained that we had a rather large party, 17 people at the time, I was told he would tell the manager to make a reservation for us in order to accommodate our party. He took my name and phone number and the party size and told me to call early Saturday to make sure. When Saturday came around I called early like I was told, but this time I was told that they did not take any reservations at all and told me to call the east colonial location if I wanted to make a reservation since that location was bigger (by this time our party size was reduced to 10). They said that if we wanted we should come in before 8 so that they could seat us when two tables became available. I did call the east colonial location, but was told they did not take reservations at all and told us to come in before 8 as well. We arrived at the Sand Lake location at around 7:15, and I approached the host, he was already shaking his head before I even reached him, I told him we were a group of 10 and he said there was no way they could seat us at all. His explanation was that there were already 7 RESERVATIONS that were waiting to be seated. He identified as the manager and stated that he had never been told about our party even though I called 3 times since the week before. He was not helpful at all and didnt even try to help us or offer us an alternative. To top it all off as he was speaking to us this family came up and told him, "Excuse me we have a reservation for Sarah."

Went there on 12/9/2012 around 3pm. The place was DISGUSTING. There was a huge puddle of water right in the middle of the restaurant where the waitess was sitting folding tableclothes. DISGUSTING, and disgusting waitress with attitude, I almost stepped in the puddle on my way to the bathroom. There was no sign up and the waitress didnt care to warn anyone. Potential lawsuit big time. The place is big and there was 3-5 people in the place, including myself. It was not crowded at all. I wanted to grab some lunch after shopping at Florida Mall. The waitress from the start was very rude and seemed extremely busy and in a huge rush even though there was barely no one in the restaurant. After she seated me it took her 15 mins to come back to ask me what I wanted to drink I placed my order: water, sushi roll, ichibahn beer. It took her 10 minutes to get my beer and water, and then another 30 minutes on top of that to get my sushi roll. Huge wait for a slow restaurant. The service, worst I had in a long time, the sushi, not good but not bad. Overall will never go back, so much better restaurants then this disgusting place.

My boyfriend raved about this place and about their happy hour on their sushi. Although I live 45 mins away, he convinced me to drive through traffic to get there. It was AWFUL! He was embarrassed that he even asked me to come. It took 15 minutes for the server to get to us and she wasnt even busy. Being that my boyfriend and I are both servers, we are very understanding but I think this was the first time I didnt tip 20%. It took another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive, which the server did not know how to make because the martini tasted like cough syrup. The sushi rice was hard and old and the plate that came out wasnt even the right order. Even though we did not like the martinis or the sushi and did not eat it, they still charged us. The server was unfriendly and said there was nothing she could do. The owner did come and speak with us and gave us a 15% discount on our uneaten food and drinks, but we will still NEVER go back to this place. We left still hungry, unsatisfied, and grumpy. It seriously ruined our night. Dont do it!

Food isnt that good and the staff gets sort of mad if you dont understand the ins and outs of korean barbeque. I went to lunch with my friends and didnt want the all you can eat barbecue, so I had to sit at a seprate table. My korean friend who was with us explained that you have to ask to remove the rubber mat they put on the grill top because the restaurant likes easy to clean grills. They try to tell you that removing it will burn your food, but it actually only acts like a normal stove top. Youre allowed to ask then to clean the grill as often as you like when it gets dirty, because obviously thats nasty cooking food on a dirty pan, but theyre reluctant to do so, especially if you have the mat off, but the whole process takes about a minute. I think the staff should be more accommodating to guests that dont understand how this type of restaurant works instead of making them feel stupid and getting mad at them. I heard from my friends that the beef was good though so thats a plus.

Im an Orlando native, so my palette might be naive, but of all the places Ive tried in the area, this is by far the best. The quality of the fish they serve is top notch, and the dishes are always fantastic and well put together. Ive eaten here probably close to 30 times, and Ive never once been disappointed. The rice is perfect and never overly vinegary, the fish is always fresh and good quality (the tuna is fatty and delicious) and fresh, and the flavors are always well balanced and never overdone. The spicy tuna is to die for (there was a stint where I ordered the spicy tuna four days in a row). The staff is always friendly, although the music is typically really in your face J-Pop. They have a happy hour special on the sushi (getitng 8 pieces of high-quality tuna for 3 bucks is fantastic) during lunch and later during regular happy hours if youre concerned about price. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Ive have been going to this location for almost 8months. I work directly across the street at the Florida mall, it was more than convenient. Besides the amazing special they offer and the good sushi options I cant help but brag about this location and what they have to offer. I have recommend a total of 20 people to this location where they have either dined in with me, or shared there over all experience. Out of a 5day work week. I must go to this location 4days a week. Long story short today management must of felt a little too confortable by alleging that my co-worker and I come all the time and do not tip. Somehow on a bill that totals $13.50 I would tip 5$. He Later told me that they have to tip others out and servers would end up with .50 cents. I will NEVER GO BACK. What ever pay structure they have is designed for the customer to tip at 85%. If $5 was "no tip" then $10 tip on $13.50 tab is RIDICULOUS.
