I was skeptical on trying this place based on the "raw curry" review. But we were hungry and this place is close. Anyways, we ordered the sesame chicken and the burbon. The seseame was goos, but nothing spectacular. The burboun however, was amazing. That is definitely going to be my go to. But their food isnt the reason Im giving then 5 stars. The service is. The girls at the counter were the most kind and helpful employees I have ever met. I was alone with my two young children. Without asking, the lady at the counter grabbed my food and brought it to my car. That was a God send. Having a baby on my hip and one in the car seat was just a nightmare. She then proceeded to help me load my kids up. These people are genuine. They are now and always will be our go to Chinese restaurant.

Some of the worst Chinese we have ever had. The only Chinese restaurant ive encountered that didnt offer tofu. Awful garlic sauce that lacks even a hint of garlic. My husbands dumplings had something that resembled avocado in them? Still unsure as to what it was, though i refused to try them. Garbage egg rolls. The sweet and sour sauce was admittedly really delicious, but was the only thing worth a damn. There are too many closer Chinese restaurants to justify wasting your time or money at Shanghai Restaurant.

I had been pleasantly surprised with the consistent good quality of food with generous portions and some of the largest shrimp with the 21 shrimp order that I have seen with the local take-outs. I finally got tired of the impertinent attitude of the young woman @ the register. Is this common amongst the local chinese restaurants? Im starting to notice a trend. Really fits w the comedienne Kathleen Madigans routine on a female chinese restauranteur.

Misleading website. First time there got sweet and sour chicken, on the site the dish looks awesome with pineapples and vegetables. I got it and theres no vegetables or pina just white rice, chicken and ss sauce. How you chinese and serve such a plain ss chicken dish. The food that I did get was good tho.

Raw chicken curry. My husband and I just went back to return some undercooked chicken. The unfriendly woman behind the counter called my husband liar and that the chicken was cooked. Where we come from, chicken is not sqjishy and pink inside. Finally, she gave us our money back but was very rude.

The people who work at Shang Hai are wonderful, their food is excellent for chinese take out, and they always are amazing, for chinese take out this is probably the best in ocala, and Ive eaten at many different ones this is my go to spot.

I must agree with the first comment, I have been ordering from this resturant for about three years, or more, and Im always pleasantly surprised with the consistent quality of the food, fast service, and a clean resturant. I recommend.

Large portions for about $5 a person. The lunch plates are that price and serve two people. The food tastes great, like what I would expect from a Chinese Take-out. The staff is extremely friendly and socialable with repeat customers.
