The sounds of the Blues are floating in the air and the vibe is very Bourbon Street. Even the various flat screen TVs inside this establishment are showing legendary musical performances from some the best Blues legends. If you go to the East Ocala location, like we did, you will notice an entire bands set of instruments hanging upside down from the ceiling...Its pretty impressive. Local artist Deb Grant hand painted most of the decor and every table in the restaurant, as well as painting in a tower area that hoists a 37 guitar chandelier at 40 feet in the air. Mojo Grill features a menu that includes burgers, empanadas, a Cuban pork dinner, Cajun chicken pasta, shrimp and grits, and a large selection of tasty appetizers. Entrees range from $7.99 to $14.99. There are enough entree selections to satisfy the pickiest of eaters, and they even have a gluten free section to choose from. In addition to craft beers, Mojo also has a good cocktail selection as well. The names range from Voodoo Child to Hellhound and are loaded with a variety of alcohols. Pops Cajun Boiled Peanuts were fun to eat at a restaurant. I love boiled peanuts, but usually grab some from a roadside stand. These were just as good. The Fried Pickles were crispy dill chips tossed in Cajun batter and served with a Cajun ranch dipping sauce. They were a big hit at our table, but a tad salty. Shrimp and Grits are on menus everywhere these days, but the Southern Style Shrimp and Grits with Applewood bacon, cheddar cheese grits and Cajun alfredo sauce was a very satisfying dish. Rondos Famous Cuban Pork Dinner was a hearty portion of tender and juicy marinated pork in rondos secret mojo sauce. The Cajun Dip is Mojo Grills take on a French Dip with Cajun rubbed roast beef, swiss cheese and au jus for dipping. A really good sandwich with a little extra zing to it. The Rasta Pasta is a penne pasta dish with sauteed bell peppers tossed in jerk alfredo sauce then topped with jerk chicken. The heat of the spices and the creaminess of the sauce made for a unique and delicious flavor profile. My only disappointment at Mojo Grill was the Churrasco Steak. This is an 8 oz hand cut skirt steak grilled and topped with grilled onions. The steak is served with house made chimichurri, black beans and rice and sweet plantains. The steak was a little tough and had way too much excess fat. If you happen to find yourself out near any of their three locations stop by. Its worth it just for the atmosphere alone.

Went out to dinner with a few friends of mine and we decided to try Mojo. I didnt really know what to expect when I walked it, but it looked busy so I imagined that it must be a good place. We were seated as soon as we walked in, despite how busy it was. The waiter came over and introduced himself (Though Ive forgotten his name, sorry) and took our orders for drinks, came back with them in a reasonable time and then took our orders. I ended up ordering the Mojojo burger. This particular burger comes with a sauce on it and I ordered it plain. When I got my food, there was nothing on it, but I have a habit of checking just to be sure and I saw that there was still sauce on it. Now I order everything plain everywhere I go, so Im super used to this. It happens all the time and I kind of expect it, but what I didnt expect is what they did to make up for it. I told them that I only had a little bit of time before I had to head to work and for them to not worry about it, but they ended up making me a whole new plate of food before I had to leave and they even gave us our appetizers for free. Overall the experience was awesome, the service was great and the food was amazing. I really enjoyed this place and plan on going again.

Tonight was the first time I ever ate food from Mojos Grill, and I will not be returning. I ordered to go, and Im not happy that the 2 burgers I ordered as medium well were actually received RAW. They were so raw in the middle, that the meat was still COLD. $42 completely wasted. The potato skins were also a huge disappointment. They were NOT "generously loaded" as claimed. Barely anything on the ones I received. The only thing that was decent/good was the hot dog, but not worth it for $7. Maybe if it was lowered in price by $1- $2, then it would be worth the price. The mac and cheese sides tasted like a creamy version of kraft mac and cheese. No spice, or decent flavor to it. Very bland. I also dont think its appropriate that the workers have their children with them at work. I was greated by a woman at the register when I arrived to pay for my order, and she came up to me with a little child wrapped around her left hip, and then another woman was behind her trying to keep another little girl from touching stuff by, and under the register. I love children, but its not professional to bring them to a bar type restaurant like this to touch/play with peoples food, silverware, etc. Its not sanitary either.

Fabulous. I do not normally use that word in a review, but we really enjoyed our first visit to The MOJO Grill. The menu is varied: burgers, Cubans, tacos, wings, salads, and more. I had the Mojito Pork Tacos. They come with a bowl of black beans and rice. The Cuban-style pork was suculant and the beans and rice very tasty. It was a lot of food, I couldnt eat all the beans. My partner had the Cuban pork dinner, the "Pepin". It was similar just with the pork piled high with MOJO sauce and sauted onions. It too was delicious and was served with black and rice, and plantains. We got a side of plantains as well. They were very good, and there were plenty. The service was excellent, which made for a nice experience overall. The place is kind of a sports bar atmosphere, a bit loud though there were more kids and birthday celebrations than drinkers on this Wednesday night. The atmosphere is fun, lots of cool signs and memorabilia type items. We will definitely make a point to return when we travel through Ocala next. Oh, they have an entire menu of Gluten Free items.

I have always loved the All You Eat Crawfish on the occational Sunday at Mojos. After today, not sure Ill go back. Service was SUPER slow. You got hungrier between plates, and when they finally got there, their was maybe 12. No sausage in the mix any more either, and very little corn and potatoes. I asked about the sausage on the first plate. Waitress said shed get me some with sausage. Three slices. After that nothing. I finally asked "Please, bring me some crawfish." They sent me 2 small plates this time, no sausage, no potatoes or corn. After spending 3 hours trying to get full, and Im old, hell, I dont have a big appetite, I hated my friend had to wait on me so we left. If you dont want to bother with Crawfish, dont offer them on the menu, and this was early, lunch. Not sure Ill ever go back there, for anything.

Had my wifes 40th birthday party last night at Mojos. It was a great experience. Food was outstanding, but thats a given. But what separates a nice evening and a great event is the level of service. The entire staff worked so hard to make sure everything went perfectly, and it did. The managers Tony and John were so helpful in getting everything organized and planned. I know it doesnt sound like big things but putting up a poster for me and letting me drop off the cake early. But the simple things really made a big difference. Our waiter Robert did a phenomenal job taking care of the whole party. We had 27 people and nobody had an empty glass all evening. He was completely accommodating to everything we needed. Thank you for making my wifes birthday a truly special event.
