Well first let me start by this. I love the varsity club me and my wife use to always go to the one in Palm harbor. We were introduced to this on when we moved here 3 months ago by our in laws. past 2 visits not good. My wife is a bar tender and works a lot and at nights so sometimes we have to eat late so we come here. Visit 1 we were sat at a booth and witnessed in our booth a cochroach run across our table. When notifying our waitress she says oh that is just a polmetto bug. We asked to be moved my wife was or king for a pest control company for 2 yeas and knows it was a roach. And all Floridians know polmetto bugs are pretty big. Then we order our favorite app pretzel bites and they come out raw in the middle and the waitress after told they were raw says " we switched to a different pretzel and that they had problems all day". Also she always had an excuse for all of the issues and no solution. At one point she said that she was having problem with the cook in the back. Not even 20 mins later she said the owner was cooking in the back. Visit 2 We came in last night for some drinks and to share an app or 2. As we sat down near the bar everyone of the wait staff and bar tender was more concerned about asking are you going to serve them game. Then the bar tender came over and took our order. We ordered our pretzels and chicken fingers. Today I was woken up at 7:00 am by my wife very sick and its do to something she ate from what the doctors are sayin in the ER. Very disappointed in this and I hope it gets better because we do and are big varsity club customers .

What a waste of time and money. Went there for burgers. Portions were good, but that is the only thing good about it. The burgers were dry and had no flavor. I had the Royal which came with onion rings and bbq sauce on it. 1 onion ring the size of a quarter and I think they just waived the bottle of bbq sauce over the top. The fries were also dry and had freezer burn flavor. The place was empty and the service was really bad. How this place has a 4 star rating, I am not sure but it is certainly isnt for their burgers. This was the second time we have been there with no change in service or food quality. We wont be back!!

We were pleased to see someone opened a place in the old Gators Restaurant. My wife and I liked Gators food and ambience. We looked forward then to the new place and were greatly disappointed: similar wait staff so no issues there but the food was lousy! Chilis is a block away and with a similar menu cooked much better why would anyone choose The Varsity Club a second time? Cmon people, youre 15 miles from the gulf, give us a fresh fish option, cook with fresh produce, the carp you served tonight could land you a visit from Chef Robert Ervine!

The place is very nice inside, and it reminds me of a beef o Bradys type ordeal. Ordered the pound of boneless wings and wasnt expecting there to be around 20. Hot cajun was pretty good as a sauce, and sweet chili was really good as well. Never tried fried pickles until visiting here and will definitely say that was a favorite as well. Didnt really enjoy the taste of the burger, but still a place Id like to go again even though Im 45 minutes away

I want to like the Varsity Club because atmosphere is good, people are nice and good sports environment. However, smoke from rude smokers outside is intolerable that drifts into restaurant and I mentioned to wait staff. She was very nice and tried to rectify by smoker kept smoking at the bar which is not allowed, but wasnt enforced. Smoke smell is strong and wont go back until they disallow smoking in entire restaurant.

We ordered carry out items. I got the sirloin steak which came with well seasoned broccoli and carrots, and a baked potato. The steak was enjoyable although I did not like the mushrooms that accompanied the dish. We also had spaghetti and meatballs which was enjoyed by our youngest and came with 3 large pieces of garlic bread. In addition our oldest got the Margarita Pizza thin crust which was also enjoyable.

My fiancee and I went here for dinner on May 19, 2017. The wait was not bad for a Friday night, the classic wings were very good (we got the mild) and a great price compared to other places for wings. We also ordered a large basket of fries to split. Our waitress Hali kept our drinks full, despite how busy they were. In the end we left with leftovers and a great experience. Will definitely be going back!

We end up here a lot. Its a pretty good spot for families, but clearing out before the late evening is good as it transitions a little more into a bar scene. The food is great. The burgers arent going to win any awards, but theyre great nonetheless. The beer and cocktail selection ensures that there is something for everyone. Bring your own WiFi though. The guest networks can be spotty.

The "VC" as we call it is a true great neighborhood treasure!! The wings are on spot pizza is best around( an unknown jewel ) burgers huge and juicy, sandwiches are awesome Italian, Reuben, the brown, basically all of them!!! But the staff is what really make the place friendly attentive I just could go on and on We love are VC

I dont understand these poor reviews! The food is great! Burgers and Chicken Quesadillas are to die for...The Beer is always cold and the service is excellent. What more can you expect out of a Sports Bar. I have been here about a dozen times, never had a problem! Oh yeah! Dont forget about the Onion Rings....Ummmm!

Great food, great service. Really, I am not a sports guy but this place makes watching a RAYS game tolerable. Their burgers are always great. The onion rings are to die for. The beer selection is great as well. Too bad people smoke outside on the deck and that is comes in with them but I digress.

Great service, wide selection of sports bar food items from burgers to wraps to chicken and pizza. The buffalo chicken dip appetizer comes with chips and celery and filled us up before our main course. Great views and many big screen tvs. Well come back again.

Nice atmosphere and I really enjoyed the food. The service was prompt and friendly. The drinks were good and were well-priced. Plenty of sports on the many TVs. I am very happy I stopped in and look forward to going back.

Great sports club. Multiple TVs, good beer selection, and fresh food. We had the blackened Mahi and all the ingredients were fresh. The decor is a little dated since it was the old Gators but the food is better now.

Horrible will never eat at such a horrific establishment. This place calls it self a family establishment when u tell some ones wife that u dont need there money and throw it back in there face .
