Came here straight from the Miami Airport upon recommendation of some in-the-know locals and it did not disappoint! It is a bit cramped for seating both inside and out and thankfully when I came in, though there was a wait because the place was crowded, because I was solo, the hostess had me squeeze in between a post and an guy at the bar who was somehow manspreading on a barstool…in any case, I was happy to have snagged a seat as I was ravenous! I was excited to see they had amazing draft and impressive bottle selection for beers. I also enjoyed that they had a lot of SoFlo local and in-state options that are not readily available in my state of Texas. I enjoyed a Cigar City draft with the Kush n Hush. Now, when I say this burger gave me a foodgasm, I do actually mean literally. Aside from the just overall deliciousness of everything that was happening w/this burger (waffles for buns, fried egg, bacon, fried hashbrown, and quality meat) what blew my tastebuds’ collective mind was the Sriracha maple syrup…O…M…G! My only regret is that I did not have video of the guy’s face sitting next to me when a sound of sheer, unadulterated, wonton, primal delight uncontrollably escaped me after my first bite. It was a total #sorrynotsorry moment. The bartender had tried to graciously offer me a fork n knife (which he sold as a deterrent when I asked which burger I should order) for my pending conquest and I not-so-graciously explained that I’m a lady in the streets, but a purist when it comes to how I handle my burgers, and I am all about using my hands! I was a syrupy sticky hot mess when all was said and done, but after I dabbed the corners of my mouth, delicately cleaned my hands, daintily paid my bill, gracefully extricated myself from the barstool and all but curtsied, I left with zero shame. Kush, thank you for the multiple foodgasms, I can only hope it was as good for you as it was for me!

I had the pleasure of being invited to eat here by one of my International students. It was my first time here, so, as the "teacher" I ordered the "most, typical American dishes" I saw on the menu. With that said, this is what we ate: *Florida Alligator Bites Fresh local alligator from Cypress Creek Farms in Starke, Fl. Fried and seasoned with Old Bay and served with Creamy Garlic and Spicy Mayo. (My student was horrified at first, but when he tried it, he ended up eating most of it). I had eaten alligator before, and, all I can say to those who have never eaten it, is, that it tastes exactly like a hybrid of fish and chicken. I quite like it actually. *Chicken n Waffles Voted best in Miami, Belgium waffles with chopped bacon, powdered sugar, fried chicken and homemade maple syrup. (My student thought this was a very odd dish, but was very open-minded to trying something "funny") Fortunately for me, he was full after eating half of it and so was I, so I took his & my leftovers home with me!!! ; ) *A variety of craft beers from Floridian breweries which I cannot remember specifically their names but they were definitely from Florida. If you are wondering why I took off 2 stars, its due to ...... 1- parking & dark, isolated neighborhood 2- locale size, we were in a very small room, full of loud people way too snuggled to one another to the point where my student and I couldnt hear another & preferred to continue his tour elsewhere. Im not favored to outdoor sitting due to, the Florida weather and the cars pollution. And, in this instance - the "creepy neighborhood". Bottom words: FOOD: Yay PLACE: Nay

Loved the way the little place was set up. Unfortunately this was my first and last time coming in to this place. The moment my husband and I got our appetizer, a big roach came from underneath the table. I had the same reaction any other human being would when they see a roach almost on top of the food. I got up and got everything off the table. The restaurant was full of people so Im sure a few noticed. The roach went inside the bathroom (I did not have a chance to kill it). The waiter saw what happened & asked if everything was okay. I obviously told him, he apologized, I said it was okay no worries. A few minutes after, the manager came up to me and offered to give us more chips for our guacamole. I told her what had happened & she apologized. We ordered burgers, they were very good (no complain there). Right after we paid for the bill, before I got up to leave, another roach fell on my head!! This topped it all. I have NEVER seen a roach in any restaurant Ive been to, and even less have one fall on my head. I rushed to get it off my hair. The manager was right next to me, so I told her. Another customer came up to the manager when she was right next to me and told her she saw the roach on the wall and fall on top of me. This makes you wonder if there are roaches outside where the people are eating, of course there is some in the kitchen. I was disgusted when I left. Never going back.

Absolutely loved this place. Its very small so we had to sit outside instead since we didnt feel like waiting....the hunger was real. From the door the service was great. The ambience was awesome...mixed crowd...good music...awesome decor. We started w the famous gator bites which were really good, my first time having gator and my 2 yr old seemed to like them too! Conch salad was really good also with some chips that were just right. Then...the FRITA burger!? Wow, who thought that guava, bacon, potato Stix, cheese, house sauce, and beef would be sooooo good. Now, Im not sure if she was the manager but she was so attentive and super sweet....she even helped cut my daughters chicken fingers so my hubby and I can start eating! Our waiter was great too and very helpful...since it was our first time we ask a lot of questions lol to make sure we get something really good. Although we were outside we felt like we were part of the crowd inside...not once were we forgotten...always checked up on us to make sure we were good. I always like to read reviews before going somewhere but never get around to leaving a review myself...but I knew I had to share this experience. Not one bad thing to say! Oh! BTW they even have a dish that you can order for your dog for $5!! (Outside seating only) I thought was awesome!

Im torn writing this review, as its mostly negative. We arrived on a Saturday night for dinner, and gave the hostess our phone number. They told us to wait in their next door area for the call. Wait was going to be 35 mins. The waiting area is small, but there was interesting beer and staff. Really friendly and informative. We tried some rare stuff and had fun. Then we noticed we were the only ones left. We go back and ask the hostess about why we havent been called, and they dont have a record of our phone number! So at this point, we have to leave to make it to a show: and super hangry! I would like to go back to actually rate the food, but they really need to get this system working or a new one completely. Like those vibrating coaster thingies, right? I was just so upset because I was trying to show my husband a good time, and currently we only get to see each other 4 times a year since I go to school and he works back in the Midwest. This is probably a fluke, and I know mistakes happen, but maybe this will help somebody out in the future so they dont get stiffed a table.
