Let me start by saying the food was fantastic. Unfortunately, the service was not even close to acceptable. Our waitress was very kind and conversational with the other guests around my fiancé and I. But she was not conversational, kind, or even polite towards us. She was slamming menus and drinks on our table, had a strict/unpleasant tone when she spoke to us, and took well over 20 minutes to bring us our check. I understand that the mornings can be very busy, especially at a breakfast joint, but it was unacceptable to treat customers that way- we felt singled out due to her actions. My fiancé was adamant on not leaving a tip. When it came to pay by card with the tablet, she would not let me hold the tablet to finish my transaction. As soon as I had picked what percentage of tip to leave, she yanked the tablet out of my hand without letting me select pay. Despite my fiancés wishes, I left an average tip- one that she clearly did not deserve for the way she singled out a young couple who had a few visible tattoos (none of which were offensive in any way). We will be taking our business elsewhere. One bad experience ruins it all. Despite the fantastic food, we will not be returning due to how our waitress singled us out from the rest of the paying customers.

The first time I went to Cozy Oaks I loved it! The food was very good and since Im from New Jersey, it gave me an at home diner feel. So I brought a friend as well as I began to tell more and more people about the place. Now the third time around, my bestfriend came to town, and I brought her as well as two other friends of ours. Again I was very excited to bring them to eat there, and when we got their the customer service was awful. Our waitress was down right rude and disrespectful. She was very short with us, and grabbed the menus leaving the table abruptly. About two minutes later, I decided to ask the waitress to cancel my order because I realized that I had ordered too much food, and I wanted just a cup of grits. Then she barks at me saying that Im going to have to pay for the order, and shes going to have to let the cook know, and check to see if I can cancel my order. So she runs into the kitchen and I can hear the conversation she is having with the cook, while she is pointing at me through the window. I then got up from my chair, complained to the manager, who was nice but didnt seem like she cared too much. All and all, lets just say, unfortunately that I will not be returning. Its sad because the food is great.

I loved cozy oaks for their food. I went to get breakfast there almost every day, for a period of several months, and never had a complaint about the quality of the meals themselves. However, theres this one waitress called Katy (or Katie), who treats customers like trash. The skinny, light-skinned one with the glasses. Shes rude, short, barks at you and never smiles. The last time I visited this place, I gave her a 15% tip for my $3.50 breakfast (which was more than she deserved, as I had been going there for months and she was still cold as ice to me) - and she came back with the tip and slammed it on my table. Its a shame, because most of the other waitresses are nice. If youre not in a hurry, Id recommend going to the Brunch Box instead. Its 5 mins away from Cozy Oaks, much more spacious, and the folk there treat you much better. (and the food is still just as good, if not better).

very disappointing! Amateur hour at the Oaks. The setting 8:30 Am Sunday. The diner felt cozy and inviting as billed. The restaurant was full, probably the busiest time of the week. I waited over 5 min to be greeted at my table, while two of the waitresses were looking thru the paper ads at the counter. During my meal three of the waitresses were eating breakfast at the front counter also. the meal: The oreida frozen hashbrowns were barely cooked. The bacon that I ordered crisp and well done, was rare and low quality. The eggs were cooked perfect, but I bit down on egg shells twice. I did have the only experienced waitress who was hustling, very friendly, and attentive. However, the FSC students need some training.

This place is unbelievable. Our waitress (I think her name is Sara) was incredibly friendly and very fast. She brought us water with our coffee, extra napkins before I had the chance to ask for some, spoons came WITH the coffee (yes, Im serious), and the prices were fantastic. The food came out lightening fast and everyone around seemed friendly and like they knew each other which tells me that people love it enough to keep coming back. I definitely recommend and will also be back the next time I am in Lakeland. :)

Walked right in, greeted immediately, sat right down. Drinks served quickly and order taken within a few minutes of seating. All the girls are super personable and with nice smiles. Food came out quick!! Everything was delicious! We tried a sampling of most things on menu - blueberry pancake, French toast, huge homemade biscuit and gravy, home fries, hash browns, grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, ham..... YUMMY!!! Best breakfast weve had in a long time! Will definitely be back! Ask for Linda :-)

Its a small cozy diner like it says in the name. I stopped by there with my mom and my sisters friends for her graduation. I ordered the Hulk, which is like your typical 2 2 2 special that most diners have. I split the meal with my mom since it came with so much food. The food was delicious, I cleaned off the plate! The only downside was the coffee...it was watery...no kick to it at all. And my friend ordered the chocolate chip oatmeal and didnt like it at all. ( I figured she wouldnt)

Waiter was short, rude, and didnt have a friendly greeting. The food was basic if that the pancake and French toast breakfast ..the meat is not fresh, hashbrowns big pile of mush, pancakes under cooked and too rich, French toast tasted like frozen French toast. Our waiter decided to sit down and have a Belgium waffle with strawberries and a mountain of whip cream while we were waitin on our check which took 20 minutes. Usually I take my leftovers but I politely left that mess there.

We were pleasantly surprised by the food here! Nothing extraordinary, but there are lots of options and our omelets were tasty. Service needs work though. There werent that many customers, but it took about 10 minutes to even get a menu. Our toast was a little on the cold side. We also saw a few employees come out of the kitchen wearing hats, no gloves, and touching their phones.

Ate there today 2/11/116 I had the country fried chicken & eggs and the wife had the Fat Cat. My dish was on the salty side hers tasted bland. No special wow in her pancakes & french toast. Also the coffee tasted water down Not the best but defiantly not the worst. It is just one of those places you say "mehhhh" when asked if it is a good place to go.
