I patronage the hip hop chicken in jacksonville, fl and receive great service, so when I was looking for a place to eat after my VA appointment so I could return home I thought this would be a good stop. I was so wrong, we arrive at 2:59 pm and the lady was eating lunch and had to take care of the drive thru first. When she came to us we pointed to the $5.98 special and to my disappointment she said this was over at 3pm(its now 3:01pm) and there was nothing she could do. My family and I politely walked out and went up the street to popyes were our business is appreciated. You would think a little customer service would have been applied and the daily special granted since we were there before 3pm and they only had one person working. Some times you have to take care of the customers and not the rules. We will not return and will share with my family and military family. Very disappointed no accomodations!!!!

I really enjoy the food at Hip Hop. The fried chicken is good and reasonably priced. The cole slaw was excellent and I ordered an extra one. (Alex must have corrected the problem with it, eh?). Thanks Alex! And the restaurant was clean and the cashier was friendly. But heres my only complaint Alex: Why doesnt Hip Hop serve mashed potatoes with, say, a smooth chicken gravy? I know your cooks could whip up some and they would be delicious! I guess theyre a pain in the ass to deal with, unlike the fries, but I wont give up hope that sometime soon they will appear on the menu. Oh, I always decline the white bread, preferring a hot, flaky biscuit instead. Oh well..... but Ill always come back!

While the seasoning they use is so good it makes me wanna slap my momma!!! the service is slow..... I mean sllllloooooooooooooooooow. And the prices can be ridiculous.. I asked for a 20 piece wing and they told me 17 dollars. The most expensive wings aint but 50 cent a wing! My goodness! But I love the food. Love love, love, love, love, I mean I dream about it in my sleep. The parking lot (if you can call it that) is extremely dangerous. While conveniently located across from the hair store, it has no room for a small vehicle to maneuver let alone a large one. And I hate that street. Its so small I suck in my gut before I turn on it.

So I decided to try the food today (09/30/2015, 12:10 PM)). Ordered wings and cat fish. To my surprise the food was very tasteful and welled prepared. Everything was going well until I decided to have the side of coleslaw. Oh boy that was the worst idea! They are serving old spoiled coleslaw. A small mistake, but made me think what else is spoiled and why they are not tracking dates on cold stored food. The coleslaw was so slimy it has to be a few days old. Its unfortunate because the food was good. I will call and report it to the manager so they can fix that problem and will try once more

The place when I came in was dirty tables not clean and counter definitely doesnt look like it had been wiped down. The staff not as professional as I have had in the past. I went there with my best friend to eat but I let her order didnt want to eat there. I think they should move hip to a nicer location and be very careful who they hire!!! Complete full background check please and look at there appearance if they dont look professional for a interview and dont sound professional HINT HINT THEY PROBABLY WILL NOT BE PROFESSIONAL WHEN THEY COME TO WORK. SOMETIMES WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET!!

I love the chicken here they dont over charge for chicken and it tastes almost like home fried chicken. ..Popeyes used to be my goto chicken place but where getting to pricey and putting less in there boxes. The gizzard are amazing everyone I eat there it is consistent and delicious

2.75. Fried food and lots of it. Decent fry technique which means it wasnt greasy but it needed some seasoning. Facilities could use an intervention.
