I have now been here three times since they have opened for lunch with co-workers. The service has been decent so far except the one time when we came with a large group. The restaurant does not take reservations but someone called ahead to let them know that we had a big group of about 16 coming in to eat. When we got there the lady at the greeting desk was totally oblivious that anyone had called in. This was rectifiwd and we got seated fairly quickly. The staff has been friendly, eager ti explain the menu and the speed of service has been decent. A little slow when we had the large group but that is a given. The food has been good. I have had the pulled pork, the brisket and the ribs. The taste of the pulled pork and the brisket has gone up and down but I have found the ribs to be consistently good the two times that I have had them. The dry rub that they use gives the meat a good flavor which is good as I am not overly impressed with their barbecue sauce. It is not bad and many people like it but I personally have other sauces that I prefer. Now many of their meals come with their homemade chips which are okay but I myself found that after a few I am done with them. Their mac and cheeese though is very good. I myself am not a real mac and cheese eater but it is good enough to make me want it. The only caveat though is that they charge you extra to have it as a side. Also, they count cornbread as a side when most places include this as part of your meal. Several of my co-workers have complained about this. The bottom line is that this a good restaurant to eat at with some interesting decor to look at while you eat and as you come in to the establishment. Also now that their patio is open it provides an perfect place to enjoy a lunch while enjoying the weather. It is a welcome addition to the area and provides some good barbecue that was hard to find previously.

We arrived at the Shelby twp. site around 5:30pm. I had the ribs which tasted musty, dry and reheated (the bones were on the cool side). One of my sides was cole slaw that tasted store bought with standard slaw dressing - nothing special. The other side was fries that tasted good and fresh, but were on the cool side buy the time they reached our table. My wife and daughter had chopped and sliced brisket, respectively. It tasted dry, reheated. We all tasted each others food. The meats just didnt taste like they "just came from the smoker". As a matter of fact, if Im correct there was a person taking food out of what I think is the smoker next to the pizza oven, placing it on trays, covering it with plastic wrap, and returning it to the rack. I didnt see any food going back to the kitchen to fill orders. If this isnt the pit excuse me. However, it sat out there the whole time we were present (about an hour and a half). Shouldnt whatever was on this rack be placed in a refridgerator? We did not feel well later that night. My wife and daughter selected the corn bread which was tasty, but full of greese. There were a lot of servers and cooks which gave a "busy" atmosphere of people moving around - not very plesent (we sat close to the kitchen area). The food was a little expensive. It was a disappointing experience and we will not return.

Took my wife to New Baltimore location for our anniversary Friday night. To start my wifes salad arrived frozen, and my chili arrived cold. They quickly replaced after our complaint, and our meal arrives. We both ordered the meat platters, she chopped brisket and I chopped brisket and turkey. The taste from the brisket was not familiar? Trying to keep a positive on our evening, I say nothing, until I see my wife struggling with her meal as well. We were told thats the wood we smoke our meet with. The off putting taste in my opinion was not wood, it was fumes from Sterno can or some other type of fuel to keep the meet hot. I know BBQ well from my travels and own backyard, this meat was horrible, including my man made turkey roast, chewy and not turkey. Used to love this place, we wont be back!

Ive enjoyed my experience here various times. I find it fair to rate it at 4.5 to 5 stars (rated 5 to pull it up its under 4 atm). The food here is great. Through my visits Ive tried various items on the menu and not once have I been disgusted or dissatisfied with the food. The staff has always been friendly and suggested what they consider their Favs or something similar to what I ordered a few times that was just as good, or even a popular item that lived up to its name. If you live local, enjoy bbq and a nice armosphere; get in here and try it out. If youre visiting and enjoy the above listed, get in and try it.

Normally I enjoy the food and the service here. Last night I was in a party of two on a not particularly busy Friday night. We were tucked away in a corner immediately at a table where the barbecue sauce bottles appeared to have run empty and then topped up with water. When we asked for a different a different bottle of sauce the service changed. We were rushed through our meal, the bus boy checked on whether we were done or not three times while we ate. Every time our waitress asked if we needed anything, it was delivered with a tone that implied that we probably shouldnt. Worst dining experience in years.

My cousin and i went her because we were looking for some good bbq and we heard that this was the place. boy is it! The atmosphere was great; the patio is beautiful with flowers, a pond, all wood tables and bar. The food was fantastic. I had the johnny diablo and it was a delicious medley of perfect flavors. I added a little spicy bbq sauce and it made my mouth explode in a good way! My cuz had the pulled pork sandwich and she said it was the best pulled pork she ever had. We each got homemade chips with our meals which were great and the pickle was the greatest tasting pickle i ever had!

Since Bad Brads opened in New Baltimore I always recommended them to friends for who are looking for a good bbq place. However, last night I have to say I had the worse BBQ ribs Ive ever tasted from a restaurant. We ordered a take out full slab rib dinner to split and our cost was $30. The ribs were dried out, tough and hard to chew. I dont believe it was because they sat too long or anything like that, it was almost like the were day old ribs?? Any how not sure I will go back to them now for $30 I think Ill cook my ribs at home.

Finally was able to give this place a try and I was pretty pleased. I got a combo platter of ribs, brisket, Mac, and slaw. Everything was good, except I felt the brisket was a little sub par. The slices were a touch too thin and they were really dry. The Mac and cheese and ribs were the best part of the meal. The brisket was really lean, so maybe that played a part in the dryness. Its definitely not my favorite BBQ, but its far better then alot of places around town. Still prefer Woodpile in Clawson.
