This was my fourth visit to the french pantry, nothing will top the first time I came though, because it was just so surreal to find a place like this in Jacksonville. The quality of ingredients and the mindfulness they have for the food is just something I havent experienced(up to that point in time) in this great city. My visit today was still a culinary treat. This time I decided to have the Muffuletta and shrimp artichoke and goat cheese bruschetta. The muffuletta wasnt done in the traditional way where the meats and olives are pressed together with the bread, it was more stacked on like a sandwich. The meat on the sandwich was very tasty and flavorful and the olives/vegetables were marinated beautifully. Bread as always was on point. Also if youve never been, they always bring out a plate with usually three different kinds of bread and olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette, and in house made oil seasoning. The french pantry is mainly a bakery and they only open for lunch service from 11:00am to 2:00pm. On to the shrimp artichokes and goat cheese bruschetta. The shrimps were cooked just right the artichoke marinated in a tangy acidic vinaigrette it seemed and the goat cheese married perfectly with the tomatoes that you spoon on top. All in all It was a great lunch. I finished with a slice of there famous wedding cake. Not to dense or sweet. It had a great filling with strawberrys and strawberry sauce on the plate. I always expect a good meal when I go and they always deliver. Everybody in Jacksonville should go once at least or theyre just cheating themselves.

I ordered some food to go, and although I normally eat in and heavily patronize and advertise for this place. I get home as I am getting ready to take a bite out of my sandwich a bug crawled out of my sandwich and on to my hand. I called the restaurant and told the owner Timothy about what happened. He offered to remake my sandwich and at first I thought that may be fine. But I decided I did not want any other food just my money back. Timothy the owner told me that he does not return money and that he would only make me something of comparable value. I insisted that he return my funds and that I do not want anything else today. He told me that he wanted my name and that I should never return to his restaurant again and if he saw me again he would refuse to serve me. And when I told him that was fine, and he said thats apart of eating organic foods, you get the occasional bug. I said yes but thats why you properly clean them before you place them on a plate for consumption. When I told him I would share the experience, he said tell everyone you like, do you see my line and the line thats been here. So I wanted to make sure that I share this story! I will not patronize a business who has a problem returning my money because I dont like LIVE BUGS IN MY SANDWICH!!! #rude #disrespectful #organicmybutt #IDONTEATBUGSANDYOUWONTSERVETHEMTOME

Fantastic lunch spot in Jacksonville with huge portions, quality ingredients but also long lines and limited on site seating. Met up with some friends for a lunch here during a trip home. Had never heard about it, let alone known it had existed for over 20 years. After struggling to find parking was greeted by a slow moving queue of people on a slightly warm day. That no one was bailing was promising, though logistics wise made me think there has to be a better way to serve people. After waiting on line for nearly an hour, we placed our orders and were promptly seated. Plenty of fresh baked bread and olive oil for dipping was brought out. Food arrived quickly after. The salmon salad was delicious, along with the burger, mufalletta, french dip and everything else we had. Desserts like the entrees, were enormous and well executed. Staff seemed hurried but were mostly pleasant. This is definitely not a place to hit up for a quick lunch, but works for a leisurely meal.

French Pantry has such great sandwiches youll forgive their hours, and come to even enjoy the communal seating. There is always a long line and youll have to wait for a table sometimes. That being said its totally worth it, just tough it out and deal. When you pull up I know youll doubt this review, but fret not brave traveler this place is well worth your doubts. Youll find a whole menu of French inspired lunch fare. The family who owns the place working so you know they put a lot of pride in it. When I go I get the turkey pesto, or the eggplant bruschetta. Both come loaded with goats cheese so make sure you like it (goats cheese that is). This is defiantly one of the best spots to go for a working lunch. Lets not forget about their desserts; big huge desserts!

This is one of those unassuming places that from the outside you would never imagine that this place would produce the best lunch in north florida. The Chef is french trained and has worked with some of the finest chefs int he country. The food is amazing and always fresh. Only the best produce is used and the bread baked daily. And don;t get me started on the desserts! Its great but it is always busy. You will most definetly have to sit at a table with other people...but thats also the charm of this place. Not enough great things to say....and this comes from a person who lived in France and loves great food!

This is now my favorite lunch spot in Jacksonville. The building itself looks like a warehouse – that threw me a little bit. I was amazed at how innovative the menu was – everything looked so good it was very hard for me to choose a dish. After seeing all the different dishes delivered around me I can’t believe you could go wrong with anything on the menu. I highly suggest you give The French Pantry a try – Just show up as close to 11AM as possible or you might have a good wait to get a table (but if you have to wait it will be worth every bit of your time)… ~Nikko

One of, if not the best, place to eat in Jacksonville. They updated their dining room area and it came out great. Looks clean and tidy while keeping some of its orginal charms. The food is the reason to go. Fresh, high quality, thoughtfully crafted salads, brushettas, and sandwiches. The desserts are absolutely great! (The wedding cake is a favorite). Ive yet to be disappointed when ordering. Get there early if youd like to sit, as the line forms quickly! No matter the line, its well worth the wait! A must visit if in Jacksonville.

One of the best restaurants weve tried in Jacksonville. Although its small and theres usually a line just to get in the door, its worth it. The menu is fantastic (Ive not tried anything I didnt love) and the prices reasonable. Even though its a very casual place, the great food makes you think it should be much more upscale. I enjoy the down-to-earth atmosphere though. Great place to take family and friends who are visiting from out of town. Our guests always request to go back to French Pantry whenever they visit us.

This place is awesome! Someone from the area recommended for us to eat there, while visiting Jacksonville. Our lunch was amazing! All of the sandwiches were delicious and the desserts were out of this world! It was a nice touch to offer the complimentary homemade breads with the olive oil spice mixture to dip in. We were so impressed, I ended up returning for lunch the next day and bought some bread loaves to take home as well. Well definitely be returning in the future, when in the area! Excellent!
