The prices were okay. Only slightly better than public and the quality of the fresh fruit and veggies was good. However at checkout the machine charges my card twice and said it didnt go through, that it was "not authorized" so I called my MasterCard company because I thought maybe they put a lock on my account cause I was making a purchase over $500 ($573.54 to be exact), when on the phone the representative told me that both charges are good, they went through on my end and were processing, I was charged twice. So I asked for a retail manager to help me because their machine obviously wasnt working properly (I had just gotten the $100 rewards membership this day!) and her name was Meiko and she was not helpful and wasnt friendly at all. She wasnt to rude but definitely not nice enough to be in a profession of helping people, she said because their machine denied it (even though my card rep told her they were good and went through, and I offered to show it on my app that they did charge me, she wouldnt hear it, she didnt stop the charges and she said she couldnt do anything until after midnight when their systems update, well its the next day and I called my MasterCard company to inquire as to if BJs had canceled the charges and they said no! That bjs is still processing the charges. When I was at the store the associates were super night and helpful and friendly. The manager was not! And they wouldnt let me take the groceries home, which I understand cause on "their end" it didnt show as paid, Im sorry your machines double charged me and said they didnt and then to have a rude manager not even try to help me fix it, so I walked out after canceling my membership. Now Im in a dispute battle with them because they claim they didnt charge my card yet over $1000 of my money is still on hold because its "processing" through THEIR system. Over all, bjs is no good to shop at, they charge your card, take your money, deny it, and then wont give you what you paid for. Costco and SAMs club have never ever done anything like that to me! So I will always be SAMs club loyal! And then Costco! Bjs sucks. They cant even employ nice managers, even if Meiko (the manager) was correct and they couldnt do anything she didnt have to be so "stern" about it! You can explain and apologize for what happened with a nice friendly tone like you mean it, instead of a stuck up rude careless tone. Very very disappointed in the management. The sales associates were more equipped to be a manager than the actual manager. They were professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful.

Spent lots of money, met an awesome membership/customer service lady, Bonnie. It was a Sunday near noon and our first time at BJs. After shopping with our temp pass I went back to the membership counter to cash in my rewards percentage which added up to the actual cost of said membership. While being assisted, my membership rep was being paged/called by the manager on duty. She answered back to say she was doing a membership, could not (of course) leave me. The same manager proceeded to keep calling my rep to go handle the cash in the liquor dept. She called 4 times , each time Bonnie was getting angry but kept her cool I was proud of her. I was also getting angry, listening to this, and there was a young lady by her ,looking scared out of her mind. Both Bonnie and the younger woman told me that this manager (VALERIE BROWN) does this kind of behavior all the time. That in my opinion is ABUSE. I waited to speak to Valerie Brown, and was brushed off, no how can I help you , nothing, she was very rude called me and Bonnie lairs. I contacted membership and spoke with a wonderful woman who took my story and said she would send this up the line, and assured me I would be getting a phone call. Well I have already spoken to the actual store manager TOM CONCON, and I do not think he understood the situation very well, and did not get any contact from corporate. I will be recontacting coprorate once more. BEWARE OF BJS OF JACKSONVILLE.

First off, for those who dont know, Wal-Mart owns Sams Club and BJs. I love shopping here. I save a lot of money by using the coupons they send in the mail and the ones they have in the store. I have had some minor issues with employees not paying attention to me, their customer, when checking me out but I have had the same problem everywhere. I have never been double charged or used the optical center. As with any grocery store, you have to check your exportation dates as large families shop here to save money. If you keep these things in mind when you go to purchase a membership, and use the day membership to see the prices, youll be fine. Hope this helps someone.

Be very careful when shopping here. The prices are not much better than Walmart. If you have a coupon, you save between $1.00 - $6.00 on average, but many of the things you may want will not have a coupon. I was sorely disappointed. Also, the customer service was not the best. One woman that worked up front was very nice, but another, was rather rude and literally tossed a flyer at me when I asked for one, as if I was bothering her. We also bought some bulk yogurt but neglected to notice it expires in five days! Now who is going to eat 36 cups of yogurt in five days?! I will not be back.

Now I understand why it wasnt so busy, and why Sams and Costco is better. I went for the first time and our recipt was $400. When we were loading, I see that my mom picked out gulten free penne pasta instead of regular and I went inside to switch it out. I waited in line for over 15 minutes. There was one lady at customer service Beatriz, i think her name was. She was very slow and I really couldnt stay in line forever. I just took the GF penne and left. Horrible customer service and not fast/easy checkout either. I perfer costco 100% over BJs.

This place has all you can imagine including really slow lines at times. People buying provisions like the arent coming back to town ever and they dont have a 10 items or less line. This is really annoying when the people have three or four carts heaping full. That is not BJs fault. This is after all my favorite mass quantities store anywhere. It has stuff I did not know I needed but somehow I have discovered how to buy them and save money by doing so. Seems like carton of drinks are real popular here.

Supposedly they check local gas prices and adjust there price to be lower than the lowest in a 5 mile radius. Unfortunatley it is never the lowest, spoke with management and was told "they have no control". Also had the propane gas tank filler offer to fill my tank for cash instead of paying the store as well as charges on a battery purchase that could not be justied. In every case I had to go to the district manager to get satisfaction, the store manager had no concern of my problems.
