Pretty bad experiences nearly every time I go. There are never enough checkout aisles open and there are always at least 3-5 workers just standing in the front talking. The customer service line is ALWAYS long because its ALWAYS only 1 person and the hot food area is never properly stocked. What makes this Giant Eagle particularly disappointing is because I live literally 10 minutes down the street so I go there at least 3 times a week and I always have a bad experience. Once I went there on a Sunday morning around 10 and there was only 1 cashier and the manager, well Im assuming he was the manager, the tall bald, white guy, was just standing there while this 1 cashier had a line literally to back of the store and people were complaining and all they said was... "They only scheduled one cashier this morning because they didnt think it would get busy", um its the only major single grocery store in Maple Heights, its always gonna be busy smh

Okay store, nothing spectacular. Too bad they have to have security. Update. Redesign of shelves has given it more of a claustophobic, depressed feeling. Quality of Hot Foods and bakery items seems to have gone down,. I bought a Rotisserie chicken that not only was small and sad looking but devoid of any taste as well, Also bought donuts that were lacking in flavor,. By comparison bought same items at Giant Eagle in Lakewood and soon to be closed Lorain and West 138th. World of difference in quality of Hot foods and bakery. Chicken was a nice size and delicious and donuts (and cookies) were fresh and tasted great. Using self checkout at Lakewood and Lorain/West 138th is great as well. Lakewood has newer (and better) self check out machines. I only go to Southgate if weather is bad, otherwise its Lakewood or Lorain/West 138th and I live on the east side,

I recently moved from Lorain County. All the locations Ive visited in L.C. over the years, have been clean. The Maple Heights location is disgusting and dirty. Given the location, a lot of the clientele is lower class and rude (has nothing to do with race. Has everything to do with personality.) I guess that should be expected in the cities surrounding Cleveland though. The employees seem to be quite pleasant and knowledgeable. In the year Ive lived in Maple Heights, I dont think I had any issues with any of the grocery store employees. Ive had some competency issues with pharmacy employees though, but after a call with management, they were cleared up. I cant say Id recommend this location to anybody, however its convenient for those living in Maple Heights. Its the only reason why I go there.

Gets two stars simply for being a Giant Eagle. Meaning it has all the amenities all Giant Eagles offer. Ample selection of foods, adequately staffed, and a bank for added convenience. It has pretty awful service though. The Huntington employees are slow, apathetic, and rather unconcerned with the public. Extremely uncharacteristic of any other Huntington Bank. The general cashiers are somewhat better. However one time, the cashier did not ask me for my Giant Eagle card, and after I came back for a refund for a defective item, I realized that she used her own card! Sure I got the discount, but I didnt get the fuel perks that I gladly would have appreciated. It is alright is you only need a few items, but I would avoid even in a pinch. Go to a different Giant Eagle.

Horrible, not enough help in the store during national chicken day. The line was longer than the check out line. So, I went to get M.O.D. , he replied there was nothing he could do because there was not enough people on the schedule. The M.O.D. came over to the chickem counter then left instead of trying to help the one person working in the area. The M.O.D. didnt apologize or show any consideration toward us, the customer. Simply said if we cant wait then feel free to leave. We waited for over 1 hr. 45 minutes to get our food.

Not clean, and the meat dept. Never has ad.items price points. They combine all together so u dont know whats on sale. I went to look for hams on sale as advertising and had to ask. Was told they were in the back. Why? I love your chicken but during peak times always out, have to wait 30 min.really? Customer service is good if you can find someone, did not know you came with a greater that do nothing, not even speaks to customers, wish I had her job! Overall all can be better!

What a craphole...I mean unkempt, unorganized, dirty looking, lousy selections of everything, scattered throughout the store. On top of that, the prices are HIGH, at least the ones that are actually posted. Im sorry for the people who are unable to travel elsewhere to shop. One of the worst grocery stores Ive experienced....I found the shoppers, and employees quite friendly though. For those of you able to travel, find a Hienens, or even a Kroger....

Every time that I shopped at this location it smells so bad. The store smells like rotten meat. My daughter purchased some ground chuck around 5pm and put the meat in the refrigerator later that evening she remove the meat from the refrigerator and the meat had turned brown. She contacted GE and inform them about the brown meat and see was told to bring the meat back to the store for a refund.

Never the right signs up with the sales. Never enough lines open. If the sale tag says 2/$5 they switch it @ counter & say its select products but they dont put the product that its actually for. This place is horrible
