You might overlook the Costa Azul Mexican Restaurant if you are driving down Okeechobee Road. It is modestly tucked away in the corner of one of those ubiquitous strip shopping areas with a mobile phone store beside it. But stop at this hidden gem and you wont be disappointed. We have been looking for a high quality Mexican restaurant for over a year without much success when a friend recommended the Costa Azul. Our search is over! Dont be put off by the modest surroundings, the food and service here are excellent. I enjoyed the shrimp cocktail which, although listed as an appetizer, could actually be a main course or share with friend. Each dish we ordered was freshly prepared and excellent and the wait staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

2nd worst Mexican I have ever experienced. Granted the guacamole and queso dip was great. Everything else was out of the can. The water out of the canned chicken flowed out of the chicken chimi changa. Tasted more like a tin can than chicken. Do not go in this place expecting chips and salsa, good beer and good food. They cant seat more than 5 tables. Its a hole in the wall that serves food that my children can cook better and was outrageously expensive for very poor quality food.

Ummm went with my husband today my husband order ceviche tradicional. I ordered empanada. My husband said his food was delicious but mine never arrived. I sat there and my order never arrived. The owner arrived asked me if everything was OK. I said no my husband received his food but I didnt. He at least made it right by offering a 15 dollar credit for are next meal. And gave me the empanadas for free. But I wont never go back again

been customer since open 6yrs ago. Food always excellent, owner always frendly. You need to try them, fresh food(customize to your needs). Try angelos shrimp( sautted shrimp with jalapeño pepper and melted cheese) also they have a dessert called (costa azul crepe) delicious. You need to come at new location(happy, bright, clean, and great service with amazing food.

This place is right down the street from me. The Guacamole was fresh and delicious. I got the Beef Chimichanga and was disappointed it wasnt shredded beef but ground. The flavor was good though. The chips were from a bag and not much in the way of Salsa. The food was good but not great. Prices were good though.

The Chicken Taco lunch special was flavorful and filling..Three corn tortillas full of seasoned chicken meat along with generous sides of rice and beans. The starter chips with a small serving of salsa and a bean dip were a tasty free appetizer. All for less than $10 including beverage....

Came to south Florida to do a Native American pow wow an the miss decideing to go out to eat. We found this Family own authentic Mexican restaurant by far some of the best food we have had and a very very long time. We will be back here to eat agian next yr since our pow wow is once a yr.

The size of salsa and beans that comes with the chips is really really really REALLY small.. They need to something about it.. Also they didnt have lemonade or hot tea which is one of the must have drinks. Othet than that the place is ok.. The food is tasty and well seasoned..

This place has great authentic Mexican food, this chicken in my chilequiles is not canned, its shredded. The folks are friendly and service is quick. I cant wait to come back and try some of the seafood dishes.
