I met up with family at Coco for dinner at 7. Theyre vegetarians, and once they find a veg friendly establishment, they become instant regulars (a lot of times eating there on a daily basis). They had been raving about Coco for a few weeks and we decided to meet up. Ordered martinis and bottle of Row 11 Pinot - theyre out of the Pinot (I know). We ask our hostess, Tarn, for recommendations, to which she names another Pinot thats "similar" to the Row. Its by the bottle and they dont facilitate samples (I know), but she graciously said shed take the bottle back if we didnt like it. We agree - off she goes. She returns with two glasses for uncle and I to sample - dryest wine on earth; its an immediate no from us. Cue the instant change in Tarns demeanor, literally from friendly to nonchalant. We start looking through list again and request to sample another Pinot - she returns stating they are also out of that bottle (hmm). I grab the list and request a caub (uncle and aunt agree) - off Tarn goes to retrieve. Few minutes go by and another host (Mike, I presume) comes out with a Merlot for us to sample, to which we aptly agree. We asked for both uncle and I to sample - he gives the glass to uncle and waits for his reaction. I told him I would also like to sample, to which he never reacted, never grabbed another glass, never said a word, just watched uncles reaction. It was a no from him and we let him know we will go with the caub we ordered. Host grabs the glass and leaves - no sample for me. Tarn returns and informs us they are also out of that caub (this is not a joke). Despite aunt having a craving for place, we decided to close the check and leave. It wasnt the lack of bottles that drove us to do so - it was the unwillingness and lack of disposition from Tarn, combined with the other hosts weirdness. I was disappointed I wasnt able to try the food, and wont be returning after our experience, as well as aunt that had been looking forward to it all week after so many good experiences here (they will also not be returning - goodbye recurring loyal customers). Chef came out and offered 20% off meal after I asked Tarn for her name for this review - we declined. We left to Grille 66 where the experience was obviously different - they are regulars here as well and the valet, hostess, bartender and waiter all knew aunt and uncle by name. Two bottles of Belle Glos and delicious food salvaged the night for us post-Coco.

When you walk in and the hostess seats you without a word and a look on her face like you said something wrong , you know its time to leave . The server was adequate and friendly . She couldnt remember who order what and our food didnt come out at the same time . The sushi was very good , tasted delicious . I had the tuna tataki and it was fresh and yummy . My wife had the fried rice with shrimp and enjoyed it very much . The others in our party also enjoyed their food . The bill for a party of 4 was 160.00 , not bad for the quality of the food . The attitude of the hostess set the theme though as she messed up the splitting of the bill ( in half , half on a card ) I gave a 100.00 Bill and got no cash back as the hostess ran the card for the balance rather than half . The music was entertain in the sense if you TV theme songs , because there was a 15 minute segment of them . I personally will not be back as the atmosphere of the employees was not right .

Mixed reviews for this place. Positives: my crispy duck was phenomenal. Came here with my Dad, his sushi appetizer didnt come with rice as he expected and it was 11 for two pieces of tuna on a fancy ball of ice. Pretty presentation but wow. Whole menu seemed overpriced. We both were underwhelmed by the sushi rolls we ordered. Ambiance is dim and while they seemed to be aiming for a romantic setting what they accially achieved was claustrophobic booths with hard wood seats and tables that are too close together. I know its south Florida where theres no judgement for two people who are couples but the waitress asked my Dad if hed like to order a beverage for him and his date. We are a spitting image of each other and nowhere have I had a server ask a man to order my beverage for me. I laughed it off but it was awkward and her tone was seemingly a passive judgmental way of thinking

Ive had great sushi in several states and this is not one of those places. We had three kids with us, ordered at the same time and their meal, Pad thai (decent), came out 25 minutes ahead of our four rolls. The sushi looked and tasted old and wasnt quality I would have expected. I rarely wrote reviews but upon letting the waitress know, she asked condescending questions, took two of the rolls and didnt come back for ten minutes. We tried to walk in to pay for the Pad Thai and the manager took another ten minutes to even come out. It was 3pm with almost no one here. No excuses. Pitiful service and we couldnt even get refills of our water. I hate writing these.

I had such an amazing time with the happy hour. I love the 50% off menu but I enjoyed their pad thai even more. They do a nice blend of scallions and peanut sauce with the right amount of protein. Huge disclaimer do not over do it with the happy hour! The entrees is too good to not eat lol I barely was able to finish the entree due to the portion that was served. Great staffing the water refill needs work but he finally got it and brought us a huge container of water. Will definitely go back, the sushi was fabulous and my husband and I were impressed but we need to figure out more options. We definitely played safe this time.

After reading all the great reviews below my husband and I decided to give Coco Bistro a shot. We went on a Tuesday night at 6pm. It was not busy at all. The waitress was terrible. She took our order in a hurry and did not bring our drinks out for 20 mins. We tried to get her attention but she was not paying any attention to us. I had sushi and my husband at the Pad Thai. The sushi was okay but I have def had much better in Fort Lauderdale. The Pad Thai was dry and flavorless. If you want good Thai go down the street to Siam House. I would not waste your time going to this restaurant.

this place is a rip off, pure and simple. i had never been, so i walked in and ordered take out: 1 california roll, 1 tuna roll, 4 pieces salmon sashimi, and 2 pieces of tuna sashimi. now, having lived 11 years in Manhattan, i understand sushi is not cheap. I figured this might cost $40-$50. The bill came to $77 - no joke. and it was ok, not the best i have ever had, not the worst. but what kind of outrageous prices are these? i cant imagine natives going here, i guess they cater to unsuspecting cruise customers and international tourists. i will never go back.
