Waste of an establishment space! Not only are they terrible at accommodating to a larger group, the waitress will give you attitude if a couple more people decide to show up on a Saturday night during their late-night happy hour. The half-of sushi selection is confined to a measly selection compared to Hiros. Expect the most basic of rolls offered, unlike their competitor. Worst yet, our group had trouble finishing the sushi because it wasnt even good. The TNT rolls is like eating a stick of fried cream cheese with sriracha, and its their only "specialty" roll offered. Its uninspiring, subpar quality food. They limit your selection greatly in comparison to their competitor. The staff is extremely unprofessional. She comes to the table several times, and rolls her eyes if you are still not ready to order. The waitress will completely forget to put your order in, and when confronted, will simple blame it on you and not even take any personal accountability. When you give her the benefit of the doubt to put the order in anyway, she hands the rest of the table checks BEFORE your food even gets there. She thanks none of us for being there, and not even a welcoming smile from start to finish. Worse yet, you try to approach management privately and theyre not even making eye contact with you when you talk, nor say anything. They have no regard or interest for maintaining good relations with their customer, nor professionalism for that matter. They are not looking to seek improvement, which shows why in comparison on a Saturday night why everyone packed Hiros instead. I dont think that night was a freak occurrence in terrible service. Some other review showed a customer who wrote a letter regarding their staff, and was completely ignored-- no phonecall or response. Go here if you want to be disrespected and served low quality rolls. If you go, you should probably just show up alone. They dont like the extra business anyway.

PEOPLE! If you have nothing nice to say .... Let me first say, not only have I gotten rave reviews about this place, my friends who are couples eat here often so a few weeks ago I went to Ocean Blue for my first time. I was in LOVE! Since then, I have been there with my girlfriends several times, and for late night sushi also. They also accommodated us quite nicely when we showed up there last weekend (after 1am), I feel bad because we were a large, loud group, and very intoxicated! Regardless, the staff was still professional and delivered us a table full of fabulous sushi; the DJ even played our song requests. I have eaten sushi all over the Tampa bay area, and there is NOWHERE in Clearwater or nearby to go after 10pm to eat GREAT sushi, in a club atmosphere. My friends and I LOVE this place, and did I mention half off late night menu??? I ordered so much food, and my bill came to $ 11 dollars!!! I love you Ocean Blue, sorry some people are so negative. And Im quite sure you will stick around for many years to come! =)

Sick to my stomache! We stopped here to try their sushi. They dont have a kids menu, so I guess you could say its not a very family friendly place. We ordered chicken tempura for my 3 year old and she did like the chicken. But it is just fried chicken after all. Kind of hard to mess that up. The main complaint is that the sushi is priced on the high end and it was absolutely horrible. We ordered 4 different rolls and all were sub-par to put it nicely. Ive been to almost every sushi place in the bay area and this was by far the worst. I think some of it was even spoiled. It had a horrible tastse that almost made me vomit. When we tried to explain nicely that something wasnt quite right and that some of it may be bad they proceeded to blow us off. So I paid and left without leaving a tip. I will never go back in there again.

The owners second dining establishment, this time he has decided to go for a upscale dining atmosphere instead of his original plane sushi bar. The family behind Ocean Blue has been in Clearwater for nearly two decades winning best of the bay awards for their sushi bar located three doors down from Ocean Blue. OBs food was exceptional from home made noodle soup to freshly prepared crab rangoon. With all the competition in the bay area its hard to same something is original but with OB you can. No one else in the bay can touch this fine fair.

This is hands down the best sushi in Tampa Bay. The owners/staff are friendly and the selection is great they have a good amount of raw rolls and cooked rolls as well. They will help you with reccomendations based on the type of sushi you like. They recently had a change in owners but have kept things the same with minor changes. I am not sure if they still have the late night half off happy hour but lets hope so. I have been eating there for years. Ps dont order the volcano sushi roll or fried cheesecake you will be addicted! So delicious.

The Sushi was great and the service was very good (ask for Jennifer). The place is just small and not upscale. They do have 1 table where you can take your shoes off and sit on pillows, which is where we enjoyed our meal, very cozy and nice. If you can live without a great atmoshere and just want GREAT service and Sushi...this is the place for you. It was packed at 8pm on Saturday night, so just make sure you call ahead, there are not many tables. It would have received a better rating had it been less of a wait...the place is just small.

BEST SUSHI in Pinellas County! My sister and I found this place totally by accident, and it is our go-to place for sushi now! The only bad thing I have to say about them is not to order water as a beverage, it tastes nasty! However, any food I have tried has been out of this world. Among my favorites are the volcano roll, the mexican roll, and the sweet potato roll. They also offer teryaki dishes and tempura, as well as vegetarian sushi and a chicken tempura roll for those less adventurous. Their miso soup is fantastic.

I am here out of town and i was worried about trying a new place, especially after reading bad reviews at other restaurants. After looking for quite some time, or group of four found this place and it seemed to have great reviews. It definitely lived up to them! Nice atmosphere, beautiful restrooms, and great service. however it is the beautiful rolls and attention top detail that won us over. If Im back on this side of town I will definitely be back!

FOOD POISONING. Me and my date both got extremely bad food poisoning after eating here a couple days ago. I was throwing up violently more than 10 times and almost had to go to emergency room. I suspect it is salmonella due to how bad it was. Im still fighting a fever as I write this. Its a shame because I really liked this place and its one of the few food places open late in this area.

Wow...we read the reviews before going here and they are very mixed. So we gave it a chance. Wrong choice! First clue should have been the smell. Then we ordered and the sushi came out....I feel that it was poorly rolled and the meat quality wasnt up to par. We got the tempura chicken...it reared and tasted foul. Also got the dynamite , Phili and spicy tuna. Never again. What a let down.
