My one star is not because of the food or service. Both were always great and we were regular customers. A couple of weeks ago my husband left his sunglasses at the Cape Coral location. We didnt realize until the next day. I called and asked a guy that answered and he checked and said that they werent in the place where they keep lost items and he took my number and said he would call if they found them. The next day my husband called asked a young lady that answered if anyone found a pair of sunglasss and she asked if they were grey Oakleys. He never told her the color and brand. He said he would pick them up and when he arrived the manager said that there were no sunglasses and that someone must have cleaned the office and the young lady my husband spoke to had left for the day And they would call him if they found them or not. Its now a week later and no one has called. My husband just called and spoke to a different manager and she checked and also said that the waitress he spoke to misspoke and they never had his sunglasses. Well, how did the waitress know that they were grey Oakleys? No one told her. Clearly someone took them. Well surprise, surprise theyre PRESCRIPTION sunglasses. What if someone left their purse and they said they had it and the person went to pick it up and they said they didnt have it? Either you have it or you dont. Not that they care, and although we will miss the food, we will never eat at any of their locations again.

I am a big fan of Mexican food...who isnt? so when Iguana Mia was recommended to me as a place for tasty Mexican, I was eager to give it a try. Boy was I disappointed. First of all our waitress was the worst. She obviously did not want to be there and was unresponsive to the point of actually being rude. I figured she was having a bad day so I did not walk out hoping the food would be so good that the service did not matter. Boy was I disappointed. My Margarita was terrible. I do not think there was any liquor in it at all and the mix they used was weak and tasteless. Still hoping the food was as recommended, I did not leave and placed my order. Steak Fijatas. That should not be a problem,,,simple, right? Boy was I disappointed. The steak was like cardboard and the vegetables were mushy, How do you screw up steak fijatas? I guess we would have to ask the chef at Iguana Mia to find out. I did not bother to order desert. You know...3 strikes and your out. Finding the food so unpalatable, I stopped for a burger on the way home.

Im actually surprised this place has almost four stars. If this is a four star restaurant, than Taco Bell should be five stars. I have eaten at the Cape Coral location twice and Fort Myers once (not by choice). The Cape Coral location is possibly the worst Mexican food I have ever had, and Ive eaten at MANY Mexican/Spanish places, and love the cuisine. The first time I went, I got a Quesadilla and the meat had little to no flavor to it. But I gave them the benefit of a doubt and went again. The second time, the chicken in my Enchilada dish was extremely watery and had NO seasonings on it at all. It was disgusting. I couldnt eat it after three bites. The Fort Myers location is mediocre at best. Went there with friends who had never been and they were all unsatisfied by the place as well. The drinks were very watered down with sour mixer to the point that I had heartburn. I played it safe with the loaded nachos which were soggy. I will not go back here, and I will not recommend this place to anyone I know.

1 1/2 stars. Food and service fair. Ordered 2 tex mex beef tacos with red rice and pinto beans. It came with free chips and 3 special house salsas with sour cream/milk dip. With tea, the bill was 16.17. Seated quickly. Service slow at first, but chips and salsa came out quickly, as well as meal, which was hot. Warm, slightly greasy Chips and 3 special homemade fresh salsas were highlight of meal. The meal presentation was great. it was served hot, but food flavorless, bland. Bland! I cant believe bland and Mexican food are said in the same sentence. I think if i closed my eyes and ate, the only way I could tell difference between foods would have been by texture! Thats just sad. I probably will only eat here if friends want to go. I dont recommend for food but I have heard they have good drink specials. Oh, they did have hot water to wash hands

We ordered take out. When my wife went to pick it up she noticed on the specials board it said kids meals are $1.00 on Sundays. Since it was Sunday my wife added that to the order. When she went to pay she was charged $7. When she mentioned that the sign says $1.00 and was looking at it with the employee he said that it was for dine in only. She then told him while looking at the sign together that it does not say for dine in only anywhere on the sign. The guy said "Oh Well" and made her pay the $7.00 anyway. The kids meal was a "pizza that was a single tortilla shell with cheese on it for $7.00 and my son would not even touch it. This used to be our go to place for Mexican especially when family and friends visit from out of town but no longer. It doesnt matter how big or small but if you rip me off I am totally done.

Ive enjoyed quite a few dinners at Iguana Mia, and would recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy inexpensive drinks, reasonable and very tasty food, and good outdoor seating. I gave their brunch a try this weekend and was actually quite impressed. A small brunch menu with a good focus that features a surprisingly good breakfast burrito enchilada style and the cheapest mimosas in town made it a great choice. Brunch for two people, two mimosas each, two entrees and our total was a very respectable $26. Fanciest? Nope. Best Mexican food? Not quite. Best service? Nah. Best cocktails? No. Best combo of all of the above? Quite possibly. Watch out for long waits during season, even though the wait is generally worth it.

Worst Mexican food ever! Ive eaten at a lot of different Mexican restaurants all over like Texas (best), Hawaii (very good), and even Minnesota (good). Iguana Mia isnt even authentic Mexican food. I love tamales and they cant even make a decent tamale. Its so dry and bland. Their refried beans are not refried beans. Dont know why this place is so popular. With the abundance of Hispanic and Latinos here I figured this place couldnt be a miss! But boy was I wrong! Definite miss! Go elsewhere for Mexican food like smaller restaurants that are actually owned and operated by Mexicans. Or at least has knowledge and experience cooking Mexican food. Pros: friendly customer service, good chips and salsa.
