Bella Mia has been open at least a year but I hadnt gone yet because there are many excellent restaurants in our area. Got there about 7:30 on a Saturday in a party of 4. It was pretty busy but we were seated right away. Once we were seated we chatted for about 10 minutes before realizing nobody had taken our drink order. Waited 5 more minutes still nothing so I looked for the manager and explained our wait. She sent someone to our table right away. The server was pleasant enough but it must have been his first day. The manager came to the table, apologized and dessert was on the house for the wait. That is fine except we dont usually eat dessert. Anyway, we ordered a bottle of wine. When delivered it was clear the server didnt know what he was doing. Using the corkscrew the wrong way he broke the cork in half. I politely asked for the bottle and had no problem getting the cork out and showed him the right way. No biggy. (We watched him serving another table wine and even after I showed him how, he did the same thing again. Again the customer taking the bottle and opening it for him.) He was very attentive but kept forgetting things and apologizing. Constantly referring to us as "guys" not very professional. Wrong wine glasses, didnt know how to serve or remove dishes, on and on. I dont blame him at all. The manager is responsible for training and making sure the staff is ready to wait on customers. She came back and apologized again saying they were busy and only had 3 servers. What? Why? Last I heard there are plenty of people looking for work. Appetizers were delicious. We ordered a seafood platter variety with scallops, shrimp and tuna. Also a half dozen oysters which were nice and fresh and large. Food portions were excellent. 3 of us got the chefs special grouper in a white lemon sauce with capers which was just ok. Properly cooked and enjoyable but not as excellent as a $27 main dish should be. The decor is the same as it was as the Mangrove Grill more or less which just being in the marina is nice. The bill with tip was over $200 which is about right. Ill try Bella Mia again because it could have been just a off night. It happens.

We have been here several times over the past couple of years, and judging by the few empty seats, one can make the asumption that others think the food is as excellent here as we do...There can be the occasion when any restaurant can fluctuate in quality if the staff is hard pressed on a busy night. ie; occasional holiday weekends, the quality here merely goes down to very, very good.. We have company that comes regularly from Europe, and the first place they want to go is Bella Mia-it is that good; rather than some overpacked and overpriced touristy Island food spots. Bottom line: Excellent food, adequate wine selections, decent beer selection, but prompt and friendly staff, all at a decent cost in a pleasant atmosphere..What am I doing here? now the place will be busier than ever... A risk-free, good place for a host to take families for a satisfying meal out.

In a word...OUTSTANDING! Our server, Laura was friendly and attentive. We asked for thin and crispy pizza. Laura said, "We make it any way you want it". And boy, was she right! Probably....no not probably, definitely the best pizza I have eaten in my 11 years of being in Florida. I asked for the person in charge. Laura sent Nancy to our table. Nancy was very interested in our comments. She is very genuine and gracious. She explained the family background of owning the restaurant(s). It is easy to see why they are successful. If you cant tell by now, we loved this place and their food. This was our first visit, but far from our last. We live on Longboat Key. We will drive by other pizza/Italian places to get to Bella Mia!

the food is okay, the decor is horrible the fact that tables are so close the guy at the table next to me could take a bite off my plate, the staff they have working there are all ate up, i think her name is jamie was sitting in another mans lap while my family and i were waiting on her to take our order, i find that very unprofessional and unsanitary. they also had the bus boy ask to box our food. that made me not want to ever eat there again not knowing what else that bus boy is doing, whether he is preparing food in the back and then busing tables and not washing his hands then asks to box food is just very unsanitary. i wont eat there again nor recommend the restaurant to anyone

Fast food restaurant masquerading as fine Italian dining. My Italian ancestors would turn over in their graves and cry, if they experienced this restaurant. Bagged lettuce, premade salads, sitting for God knows how long in the refrigerator, with ingredients, such as the tomatoes and cucumbers looking as though they cut days ago.......Food reheated in microwave. I ordered fettuccine alfredo and it was horrible. Wait staff changes frequently. My recommendation is to patronize the Olive Garden over this fake and disgraceful, so called Italian restaurant.

The atmosphere was packed with the seating far to close together considering everyone who was there was 30-50 pounds overweight. I was uncomfortable. Maybe its because Im originally from NY, but I expect more love and familia out of an italian resturant. The stuffed mushrooms were OK, too much butter/and oil and the bacon was awful in them. The chiken Parm was delicious minue the speggetti which accompanied it. The salad was bagged at best. Service was poor due to overcrowding. If I go back it will be for the chik parm flavor but not for $17 that it cost!

Great atmosphere, great service and amazing food. The pizza tray accidentally slid off the table as I went to get a slice of pizza and the manager immediately made sure we were ok and offered another whole pizza. We were pleasantly surprised at this great gesture. We will definitely return and will recommend this amazing place. Also the bread knots are delicious and you get the Italian family vibe. Thumbs up Bella Mía!!

We are locals, usually dont take time to write reviews but it wouldnt be fair to this Restaurant for us not to comment on one of our favorite local spots. We have regularly eaten in and get delivery.... for years- the freshness and quality of the food is superb. As a wife who cooks for my family daily, it is hard for me to go out and be impressed, but Bella Mia always impresses me and truly is a rare gem in Bradenton.

I personally do not understand the negative reviews on Bella Mia - they have by far the best pizza I have had in Florida since Ive been here. The calzones are outstanding and so is everything else I have had to eat here. My parents live in Winter Haven and whenever they come down here that is their restaurant of choice!! These people that are leaving bad reviews obviously dont have good taste!!!!

Olvídense de las típicas cadenas de pizzerías, este sitio ofrece unas pizzas espectaculares y un trato muy bueno. He vuelto a ir y probé la pasta con marisco con toque picante, muy bueno.
