Mind you this place can get crazy on busy nights but that still doesnt stop me from party my bollocks off here when I get the chance. In fact, the day I got back from Ireland I came here with a friend and we both had some good ol "cure for a hangover breakfasts. Its a very European style breakfast with fat pieces of ham, beans, eggs, sausage etc. Soooo good. Anyways, to explain the friendliness of this place Ill break into a story. After we ate our breakfast we started conversing with the Irish bartender that was working there on this particular morning. I was wearing my new Ireland jacket on and he asked me about it and I explained that I had just got off the plane about 2 hours prior and was here to say Hi to my buddy I hadnt seen in 2 weeks. He then asks about where I went...[shortening for time]...then he asks if I poured my own beer while I was at Guinness, which I did. He then asks me if Id like to pour my own and taunted me that it had to be a perfect pour b/c I was "certified." I walked back there and I was kind of nervous since the bar was watching me but I poured and waited, walked back behind the bar to finish the pour and I actually did it better there than I did at St. James Gate. He said I did a good job and Im pretty sure he didnt charge me for that one. We continued to hang out until roughly 3pm just chatting and drinking and having a blast! I think my total tab was about 40 dollars but at that point we had more than 3 bartenders help us out so I cant thank him but rather I thanked the entire establishment. Go here, support them, have a good time, and tip well! Its worth it. Also, check out the new back deck. Heaters and a TV back there make the winter pretty decent.

Ive gone to the Queen Vic for beers a few times with friends in the past and thought it would be a good place to take my boyfriend and his parents for drinks and an appetizer while we were waiting to get into Toki Underground. There was no space at the bar downstairs so we were directed upstairs and seated. After ordering beers and an appetizer the waiter, Joe, asked if that was all we were ordering. When we told him yes he gave us a stricken look, told us he assumed we were ordering dinner as well, that the restaurant had a business to run, that he had turned away other people (mind you there were two empty tables next to us), and that we would need to leave the table and go stand in another part of the bar. To be fair, they did comp the appetizer, and the girl behind the bar was very nice, but I have never been asked to leave a table, especially after we had already ordered drinks and food. To me that is just poor customer service, and I will not be returning

All hail Queen Vic! On a cold fall day, the BF and I wanted nothing other than bangers and mash. Queen Vic helped deliver. We were quoted about a 10-15 minute wait, so we opted to wait upstairs by the bar. Just as we were going to order some drinks, the host appeared next to us and said that a table was ready for us, conveniently right by the bar! I ordered a Cardiff Bluebird, which is hard cider, blueberry vodka, and Sprite. Its a sweet and fruity drink. We ordered bangers and mash and the shepherds pie to share. Both dishes were really good. I dont know if its because I was really craving comfort food on a cold day, but the dishes really hit home for me. They also serve other classic items like fish and chips and a full English breakfast. If you like British pub grub, youll like Queen Vic. If you like pubs in general, youll like Queen Vic. And if you like football (or soccer to us on the other side of the Atlantic), youll like Queen Vic.

Although the place is a tad bit small, the atmosphere, food, and drinks more than make up for it. It was enough that they had fantastic English beer on tap but they definitely went the extra mile by pouring it all into the larger pint sized glasses they use across the pond. Even though the menu didnt have some staples like Shepherds Pie, this is stuff that gets cycled on their specials board. The food was absolutely delicious. No one in my four person party was anything less than thrilled with their choice, and, of course, true to current trends in many popular places in England, the beef was grass-fed, the chickens free-range, and everything followed the whole organic mantra. Ive gotta say, for everything they offer, they do it at a price thats pretty low to midrange. That, and the music is great too. Ill be back here as often as I can and Ill be telling all my friends to come too.

Some friends introduced us to this British pub in late 2012 and since then weve become huge fans. It tries to bring a little British tradition to DC, without being clichéd. Sitting at the bar, reading the Sunday papers, watching the TV and having a few of their Cider cocktails (Snake Bite, Cider and Black etc..) is a great relaxing way to spend a Sunday. The food is excellent - while the breakfast maybe lacks some authenticity (QV - get some Heinz Baked Beans!), it still really is very good. Likewise all the other food on the menu - the traditional Sunday roast never disappoints and the portions are very generous. All the staff are extremly friendly and attentive and prices are very reasonable. If you havent been, I would highly recommend it!

I went here on a week night with a few friends and wasnt expecting much from the food. We came here 5 minutes before happy hour ended and ordered beers. When the tab came, the server said it was on the border of happy hour ending so thats why she didnt give us the happy hour price but offered to give it to us anyways. So if you come here around the end of happy hour, make sure to remind the waiter that happy hour hasnt ended yet. Overall, the service was good. I search the states for good fish and chips and this place has a good dish. The batter is a little too salty but its still good. Its a little pricey ($15.95) for fish and chips. The gravy with the bangers and mash was very good. I would come back just for that!

Visiting from out of town. The Queen Vic was recommended to my preggos wife and I by our Airbnb host. Boy were we happy. So happy we ate here twice. Im a husker fan and was able to catch the game here on BTN on saturday and after the Redskins game, we stopped by for the cowboys game (wife is a fan). Noel if great, as well as the rest of the staff. Not only are the drinks good, the food is GREAT!!! I mean it beats any bar food hands down and revivals any 4 start restaurants. Bring an appetite, the plates are huge and Hardy. I recommend the Queen Vic to all and will return every time I am in DC.
