Horrible attitude! Stay away. First, Ill start by saying Im huge fan of the Lancaster location. When in Lancaster, I never miss it. On this day however, I was with my kids and visited the Harrisburg location. Avoid this place and go to Appalachian Brew Co instead. We were "greeted" by a very curt bartender who could not have been busy as we were only one of two occupied tables in her section. She threw down the menus, and asked "Can I get you some drinks?" I ordered a beer, then asked my kids what they wanted...and evidently 5 seconds to think about their choice was too long because the bartender exhaled a big angry huff, and walked away...literally. After waiting several minutes for her to return, I asked to complete our order. By this time she was behind the bar waiting on only 2 or three people and says, "Yeah...youll have to wait a minute." That was strike 2. After ordering our food and drinks, my kids (8 and 10) noticed an arcade game nearby. When I say nearby, I mean like 15 away. I then gave them a few dollars and told them to have fun. Fun evidently is not allowed in LBPs Harrisburg location as the kids were stopped from playing the game just as they were about to drop their first quarter in the machine. They returned to the table and said the bartender told them they were not allowed to play the game unless I was physically standing there with them. Again - I was 15 away. I was looking right at them. I said, "Oh...its OK...Ill watch them from here. Theyre good kids. Theyll be cool." Keeping her "Start With No," attitude she said, "You have to stand next to them if theyre going to play the game." Strike 3. With that, I got up - paid for the drinks, and told her that she was the worst bartender Id ever encountered and that her "Start With No. Customer is Always Wrong," attitude was not suited for public service. To make matters worse, I got a 1/2-hearted apology from the Manager. Good beer. Horrible help and management. We left there and went to Appalachian Brew Co for an AWESOME EXPERIENCE.

This place was just plain TERRIBLE! We had 4 people waiting for another, so the hostess sat us at a table for 6. Immediately, the waitress came out and told us that if the other person did not show up in the next 5 minutes, we would have to move. We were the only ones there! We decided it was best just to focus on why we were there in the first place... BEER! Being a typical micro brew, there were plenty of choices and getting that first new beer is always a pleasure. But the waitress had come back and seemed disgusted that we didnt know what we wanted after 2 minutes of looking at the list. 2 of us just chose something because she was being incredibly rude to us and we didnt care for her condescending remarks. She brought out the beer and was ready to take our order. Wings were supposed to be on special, so just to make sure, we asked her and again, she seemed so disgusted that we didnt know what the specials were. So, we ordered our food and she didnt come back for awhile, so we were served by the manager and he got us more to drink. He was much nicer to us, so we had hoped he noticed the way we were being treated by the waitress. It didnt seem like it though because out she came again! 2 of us had growlers that needed filled, so she rudely reached over the table, grabbed them, and threw them on the bar. She came back later with the growlers and our receipts before we were even done eating! Then to make things worse, she charged us for 3 growlers and tried to argue with the guy she charged extra! She also proceeded to accuse us of credit card fraud because not everyone had signed the back of their cards. I have never been treated so poorly in all of my life at a restaurant. In all honesty the food was fine and the beer was good, but NEVER EVER go to this place. They treat you like garbage. Please support the original in Lancaster!!! They will treat you right.

Lancaster Brewing Company is a restaurant that serves American food as well as their own beers. When we arrived, we had a choice of sitting in the bar or dining room. They didnt give us the option of sitting in the patio. I didnt like how the dining room was very noisy and thus, making it hard to converse with the party. After being seated and having barely glanced the menu, our server Emily stopped by to get my order. I got the Hard Berry Cider which consisted of local hard cider blended with fruit purée. It was light, fruity, and refreshing like I hoped it to be. For dinner, we ordered a Milk Stout French Onion Soup, Fish Taco, and Crispy Skin Atlantic Salmon. We waited awhile (over an hour) for food and wondered why other tables who were seated after us were all served before us. Somehow I received the Crispy Skin Atlantic Salmon before receiving my Milk Stout French Onion Soup. The server came by ask me how my soup was and I told her I hadnt even received it and she seemed apologetic. Our server was hard to find for most of the night. She didnt even bother to check if we needed water refills. The Milk Stout French Onion Soup consisted of rich beef milk stout broth, garlic, and crouton topped melted gruyere. I liked how the soup was not as heavy as other French Onion soups Ive had. I liked how it wasnt too salty and you could still taste a hint of the ale. I didnt taste the Fish Tacos but the portion size was rather small and not filling. The homemade chips it came with were really stale. The Crispy Skin Atlantic Salmon consisted of a salmon served over asparagus tips, pearl onion, oyster mushrooms, and english peas in a charred tomato vinaigrette. I liked how the salmon skin was crispy, the fish was tender, and the overall taste of the dish.

One of the worst restaurant/service experiences of our lives. For my husbands birthday, we looked on the Internet for a restaurant serving prime rib and found this one - the menu looked good, they were only 25 minutes away and open till 9 p.m. We got unexpected company and were delayed so we didnt get there until 8:30. When we walked in, the restaurant was a little dark, so we waited at the desk for someone to come but no one did. We heard voices, so we stepped around to the kitchen and asked if they were still open. The manager, not in a quiet voice, said "Oh God". I told him that there were about 4 people behind us (who either left or went to the bar by the time we got back to the front desk) and he gave us a seat with a great amount of attitude. The server came up and asked the manager "What time is the kitchen open until?" He replied 9 p.m. By this time, it was 8:45 because we waited so long at the desk. The server proceeded to take our drink order - a coffee and soda - and advised us that it would take extra time because they had already cleaned and emptied everything for the night. Talk about feeling unwelcome! It was clearly a great inconvenience to them that we arrived 1/2 hour before closing time. We cancelled our drink order and, as we were leaving, the server GRABBED my arm and said "No, please stay". I looked pointedly at where she grabbed my arm and she let go. We left. The menu looked interesting, but weve never had a worse experience at a restaurant EVER. If youre going to advertise that youre open till 9 p.m., then you should be OPEN till 9 p.m. even if someone walks in the door at 8:58. I dont know if we even ever want to try to go again :( Very bad experience.
