I had a drink at the bar with friends. They have two gluten free options in Bold Rock cider and Omission beer (which I personally dont trust). The atmosphere was excellent in the form of a cool place that very much reminds you that you are currently sharing a wall with the 930 club, very music oriented. This was also evident in the music selection: The Artic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, original The Gorillaz, and a smattering of recent popular top-40s-esque tracks. o didnt have a chance to check the menu but was assured that at least for the Normals in my group it would be great. I will certainly visit again, but for fun and for a drink after a show at 930. tl;dr - great atmosphere, cider and Omission available, music excellent, will definitely visit again

Both the food and the service is mediocre at best. On all the times that Ive been here whenever I got my food it was lukewarm and didnt taste fresh. I truly feel like they put more into the decor which is amazing then they did into the menu. The servers are not rude but awkward. For example the young man who bought out our food refused to let me take my own plate and simply kept repeating, " Ill put it down Ill put it down." It was odd especially since he was walking so slow from the kitchen like he might drop everything. I really wanted to like this place but I think today was my last visit.

Hands down, the worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant. My burger had two huge, disgusting hairs hanging out of it. They were weaved inside the burger & hanging out the side. Repulsive. I flipped the burger over & took a small chunk out of the bottom then called our waitress over. She apologized and said she would get me a new burger right away. When she brought my "new" burger over, I flipped the patty over and there was the same chunk missing. Liars. She offered me a free gift certificate to come back. Yeah no thanks. I prefer my burgers without other peoples hair.

Its right behind the 930 club so it makes a convenient quick place to meet before a show. But besides being close to the concert venue, the service is great and has above average food for the standard bar fare. Burgers and tater tots smothered in tasty toppings (poutine, blue cheese, Buffalo sauce, maple bacon and a few more). Oh, and want a delicious boozy milkshake? They got those too. After (most if not all) shows at the 930 club, head to the satellite room with your ticket stub for a free beer. Good way to relax a few minutes before heading home from a show.

I went here for NYE brunch (between 1-5pm) like they advertised. We got there around 2pm and were told to order from the bar. There were two bars, one outside and one in, but there were also plenty of booths and high tops all around. We waited in line to place our orders at the bar for about 25 mins before being told we could no longer order from the bar. We inquired with the staff as to where to order if not from the bar. We were given several run-arounds from multiple confused staff members and ended up leaving.

Love the layout and location! Its kind of a quiet secluded spot for U Street (hidden behind 9:30), which is nice. We went here for boozy milkshakes. They were great, though the whiskey bit pretty hard through my peanut butter shake. Maybe rum would be a good substitution. Also tried the tater tot poutine. It was greasy and the cheese curds were more like old chunks of mozzarella... but really enjoyed the spot overall.

Lets just say this place has a Ms. Pac Man right as you walk in, so if you consider yourself part of the hipster set, stop reading this and head over right now. No drink specials, no cocktail menu, but if you are going to a show at the 9:30 club next door, the $4 beers and $6 mixed drinks are a great way to kill the time while that crappy opening band is playing before the group you really want to see.

Never fails me. Great semi covered patio bar area that allows smoking (despite me not being a smoker). Their shakes are great, their boozy shakes are amazing! They got tater tots up the waz and I love em. Its a great neighborhood bar as well as pregame bar for those going to a gig at 9:30 club right next door. They even have a special if you show them ur ticket to the 930 theyll hook you up.

Satellite Room is a great spot for hanging out with friends. Burgers are delicious, certainly better than I anticipated. Fries are meh. Bartenders are friendly and accommodating; space is fresh and fun. Head over on a weeknight for drinks after work — definitely a fun vibe and a decent menu. Kitchen execution is among the top of the Hilton empire. Would be a great space to host a party.

Tucked behind the legendary 9:30 club, its almost better to visit when theres not a show. Plenty of space, friendly staff, great drinks and food (chicken wings on point, yucca fries were uneven). Great weekly events too, like Wu Tang Wednesdays and the like. Stop in for happy hour too. This edge of U street has some great semi-divey bars and hideaways. Satellite Room is a great one.

This place has fun milkshakes - boozy and dry. Otherwise, the food is subpar diner food. The burgers are dry and overcooked. They dont cook "by temperature" according to the waitress, so you cant get anything besides medium or charred. The catfish and tots are greasier than youd get at a greasy spoon diner. Teds Bulletin is a better bet for diner food and milkshakes.

This is my go to for a place to bring out of towners. Its super chill, in a cool and convenient location, has GREAT drinks (including alcoholic milkshakes) and really good food. I just like the atmosphere, you can actually talk to people in there, the bar is a cool covered patio type thing, and again.... alcoholic milkshakes. Not divey, not bro-y, just right.

The boozy shakes are super tasty. The Cinnamon Toast Punch is a personal favorite of mine. Overall the food is OK. Never had a disappointing meal, but also havent been blown away by anything Ive tasted there. Location is great for those times you want food or drinks either before or after a show at the 9:30 club, though it can get busy and noisy.

Great spot, even on a night when theres no show. I know most people think of this as a place to go before/after the 9:30, but theres good reasons to come just here. Boozy shakes are strong and filling and the tots are terrific with many different combos.

Grab a drink at this spot where you dont need to scream at the bartenders, where theres seating to nab (even when the rest of U Street is beyond busy), and where the boozy milkshakes rule the night. Slipping in to this bar will make you feel like a local.

The Satellite Room was part of a bar crawl. Wished I could have lingered longer. The staff was very friendly, the menu looked yummy, and the hip hop DJ for Sunday brunch was hyped. Cant wait to return to sample some of their signature drinks.

This is a fun place. Good to grab a beer or a snack before a show at the 9:30 Club. Stick to the booze (especially the boozy milkshakes) and the tater tots. The rest of the food can be hit or miss and is a bit pricey.
