Prices are a bit higher than they should be for what youre getting, and the layout of the store tends to lead to tons of customers clumping around the counter aimlessly and makes it hard to navigate after youve ordered. Good location right by Eastern Market though. May be worth popping into if you desperately need coffee and cant bear to walk a bit further to any other nearby options, but otherwise pretty unremarkable.

Two tries a couple weeks apart... just pathetic execution of beverage quality tried to educate both baristas on technique to steam milk because they scream their milk here... they refused the feedback as if they knew what they were doing ... maybe next time Ill just get a shot of espresso never mind Ill just go to Peregrine... only went because its next to the amazing market lunch... blue buck pancakes!

If you are looking for a fast coffee, this is a good place to come to. After a walk around eastern market come here if you want a cheap average coffee and to sit outside. There are many chairs outside and on a nice day this is perfect. The coffee isnt anything special. Its highly caffeinated and not exciting. The inside is a little depressing but other than that its a decent coffee shop.

I love the food! I used to eat there every day until they closed in my area. Not DC though. Not a coffee drinker, But I used to drink tea with soy milk. First timer for soy milk and now Im a drinker for life. Lactose intolerant so milk is out Anyway the food is scrumptious! Too bad they dont have one where I live!

A nice, little, non-chain, 26-seat coffee shop. The two bump-out seating areas are really nice. Staff was efficient on a Sunday morning and kept the line to a minimum. Got a sausage egg and cheese muffin and a medium cup of coffee for just over $6.

Iced coffee was okay, but the turkey BLT wrap was a flour tortilla around a slice of lightly cooked bacon, tasteless turkey, and days old lettuce that tasted like frozen peas. Made me physically ill, and I dont have a weak stomach.

Port city java is the best place for locals top get cheap breakfast and coffee. Dont come here if you are looking for a unique DC experience because you will be disappointed. Come here three times a week and get to know the locals.

Service was timely, coffee was good. Although its not a huge shop, there were seats to be had inside and out. Has a homey feel, with art from local artists and live music frequently on the patio on weekends.

Great little coffee shop at the top of Eastern Market. Seating outside (which is handy if you have a dog) and they do very nice wraps. Highly recommend the breakfast wrap with eggs and feta cheese.

I got cool dark roast coffee because theyre either too lazy or too cheap to brew fresh. Bottled water is 2 bucks.... 0_o Chicken anything is gross... Its all microwaved
