Me along with four other colleagues went to Yi place on friday for lunch. Food was ok. But the service was too bad. The waitress didnt even respond to our requests for water and all. Once the check was given, we paid a modest 10% as tip. You wont believe what happened next. The waitress came back and asked for a 15% tip. When we said, we were not happy with the service, she said , thats just an excuse for not giving the tip. and it shows we are poor. My Friend, who was shocked by this rude behaviour, corrected the amount on the card and gave a 15% tip. We would never go back to Yi place again. Avoid !!

Authentic food, frequented by native Chinese. Dont expect American-style service. Dishes are meant to be shared by the whole table and will be served when they are finished cooking, not all at the same time. (Previous reviews have complained that everyone at the table wasnt served at the same time and someone had to wait.) Also in China its considered rude for the server to just come up to your table, so dont hesitate to call a server over when you need something, and it doesnt have to be the one that took your order. Its ok to ask any server nearby to wait on your table.

The food was good, but the lady/owner at the front has terrible customer service. Our order was mixed up and instead of giving us what we ordered, she scolded us by saying it is our error. She even had the audacity to yell at us. We promptly left and will never go back again no matter how good the food was. I think she feels that she is doing us a favor by letting us eat there. She forgets that her customers are the ones keeping her business alive. Be warned. You will not be treated like a customer if anything goes out of ordinary.

The most authentic and best tasting szechuan food in Delaware! Dishes are actually spicy, full of flavor and not sweet at all(in case you are wondering, yes, this is how real szechuan Chinese food is supposed to taste). The bad thing is that sometimes the service is not so good and the boss acts like you own her some money...but we still go at times despite this, because its just not everyday that you find authentic Chinese food around this area!

STAY AWAY - COCKROACHES IN FOOD !!! My wife just bought dinner here for the first time tonight for my son and daughter. My son found a cockroach in his egg roll, and when confronted with it the manager said hed refund my wife for the egg roll! WTH!?!?! Its a cockroach in your food! Filing a report with the health department asap. Stay away from this place! DISGUSTING - both cleanliness and customer treatment.

The food was ranged for OK to very tasty EXCEPT for the hint of of dirty dish soap. We thought maybe we were wrong until we order a pot of tea that tasted a lot like an old soapy sponge. What a shame. It seemed so promising. Poor cleanliness is a difficult image to overcome and usually means poor management. If we had not had coupons that we needed to spend we would have walked out.

I cant say enough good about Yi Palace. They are willing to cook to order and make traditional Chinese dishes, instead of the Americanized fried versions that are tasty, but not nutritious. And they are willing to educate and offer suggestions if you show interest. I love my experiences eating mostly takeout...and the folks are so friendly!

Service was so bad here that it ruined the whole meal. It took 50 minutes to get our food because the kitchen "mixed-up" our order according to the waiter. There was no apology from anyone and the waiter never once offered to refill our drinks despite our two empty glasses. Just awful service!!!

Authentic Chinese food. This is not a typical take out place so dont expect that type of food. If you like real Chinese thats full of flavor and typically spicy style, then this is your place. I drive 45 min. About once a week for lunch here. Delicious.

Worst Chinese restaurant ever! The service is terrible if any, even in a standard of a Chinese food. The taste is not authentic at all. If you have to eat at Yi palace, drive 10 more min to the one in Newark, much better!

This place has the best (Szechuan) spicy hot pot. Even better than what I can find in Philadelphia. Definitely a must try if you like spicy food! Also the service is great and friendly. Always a good crowd too.

Very good food, appears authentic dishes. Be forewarned, they keep the restaurant warm. Have had the double cooked pork, fantastic and spicy. And the chicken with cashews, very flavorable.
