We tried Cool Springs at the suggestion of some locals during our recent visit to Dover. We were not disappointed. A little off the beaten path but well worth the few extra miles. Clean, bright and well decorated, and not overcrowded for a Saturday night, we were seated immediately. Full bar and decent selection of land and sea selections. We decided to try a fish and steak dish to see how well each were prepared and I can tell you they passed the test. For appetizers we had the fried calamari which was lightly battered and tender, not greasy at all and and the mini crab cakes were as described mini but full of meat and mixed with a perfect blend of ingredients which held together but not a brick. Main course was the grilled seafood quartet (Salmon, swordfish, shrimp, and sea scallops) well prepared again lightly battered and not greasy and the prime rib. Now I always get the end cut because I feel that is where the most flavor is and since we were not eating at 5 oclock that is all that was left. This had to be one of the best cuts of prime rib I ever had. Flavorful and juicy, with plenty of juice on the plate. Served with horseradish sauce that complemented the dish perfectly. The service was good and the desserts were as good as the main course. Definitely will be back on our next trip to the area.

Let me just start out by saying that this is far and away my favorite restaurant in the Dover area. If you love fish, and care enough to want it perfectly prepared every single time, heres your place. While Ive tried many dishes here and not been disappointed, I always come back to the seared tuna (cooked rare, of course.) It comes on a delicious ginger soy reduction of some kind, and is served with a potent creamy wasabi sauce. Best food ever. Make sure you try the "fish bait" appetizer: pieces of all different kinds of fish, from salmon to cod, in a light, crispy batter, with a delicious sauce. (It may be the exact same ginger soy reduction they serve the seared tuna on.) And Id like to specifically single out Aaron, the server we had last night. Aaron introduced himself, then asked our names. Over the course of the meal he continued to address us by name as he took amazing care of us. My friend and I agreed that hes the best server weve ever had.

Would have gave a 0 star rating but it wouldnt allow me.The most racist place I have ever been. Worst treatment of my life. The waitress totally disregarded our table while continuing to serve others. Didnt bring our appetizer to the table until after we asked to speak to a manager and she had reached the table. If you are of any color but white do not enter they will ignore and treat as if youre not even there. Manager showed no real concern about situation only asked if we wanted a different server. I hope no one has to go through what we had to at this place. They will sit you in the back of the room away from anyone and treat you as a ghost. I dont think Ive ever been treated like that in my life anywhere and Im not one to complain about racism but it definitely lives in Cool Springs Fish Bar & Restaurant.

Really mediocre at best. Seafood bisque was atleast a day old, the shrimp was falling apart and was mushy, which Ive never even had frozen shrimp do. Salad was from a bag, iceberg lettuce with shredded carrots. My date ordered a tuna salad to be greeted by the same bagged salad as my side salad, some cucumbers and an undercooked piece of seared tuna. The parmesan crusted fish I had wasnt bad, but the sides were very watery and buttery. Plus the price point did NOT justify the quality. Walk 50 feet to Restaurant 55 instead.

I am from Florida-home of good seafood, and I have never written a review before but had to give praise to Cool Springs for a great meal. I had the crab cakes. They were full of crab with just enough breading to hold them together. Moist and perfect. The wife had the prime rib. Seriously, it would have fed a family of four. It was perfect too. The margaritas were also the best I have ever had. If you enjoy a good meal and good friendly service go to Cool Springs and ask for Tina. You wont be disappointed.

but Ill write one anyway. I moved here 2 years ago and was quickly introduced to Cool Springs as the place to bring the parents when they visited. The food is delicious. They do an array of homemade desserts that you really have to try...even if you cant stuff it in that night, get it for the next day. Its not stuffy, but not too casual. The service is excellent. They have a great bar and good wine and beer selection. Locals dont need to be told about this place...its packed on weekends!

Been there many times. I ordered the prime rib and ask for it rare. Our waitress came back and informed me that they only had med rare but told me their med rare is really a rare piece. So i ordered that. Out of a king cut prime rib the only part that was rare was the very small center was tough. Wish Tina was working that way I wouldnt of been lied to. Bill was over $200.00 if I go back ill make sure Tina is working so we are lied to

THE place to get great seafood in the Dover area. Casual dining with an elegant flavor. Nice atmosphere with specials that change daily. Dishes make most other places seem like they are serving frozen entrees or fish sticks. Even if you dont like seafood, you will not find a better Prime Rib anywhere. Prices arent much more than you would pay at Red Lobster, but the quality is another world.

Had the shellfish pan roast and it was great, all the meat was super fresh and tender, no over cooked rubbery seafood. The two Moscow mules I had were worth the money, as they were not skimpy on the vodka. Parking can be a pain when crowded. A relatively small space with nice atmosphere with CLEAN BATHROOMS! A little pricey, but worth it for a splurge!

Great local foods, new interior is nice. Food is slightly overpriced for portions but the food is always great. The only downside to the restaurant is that the menu is generally always the same, which for some the predictability is great but not a place to go to if you like trying new foods. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Dover.

I appreciated that even though it was busy, there was no waiting for a table. The waitress was very quick and nice. Also the food was out in less then 20 mins. But the food itself was very bland. We both had to take a doggie bags home, because neither of us wanted to finish it. On a side note, their roasted potatoes were amazing!

This is the number 1 seafood restaurant in Kent County. I am a big seafood fan, and the food is excellent. The owner Dennis, is also a number one chef. I go there all the time with family and friends. The restaurant is very clean and the employees are very friendly. Everything you eat is worth the very last penny.
