Classy, upscale bars in the city of Scranton are hard to come by. Not only does Jacks defy convention, but delicious food, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a recently expanded import and craft brew selection keep you coming back. While the outside is unassuming, the interior is beautifully done with a comfortable bar, plenty of tables, two rooms with comfortable couches, and a pool table that somehow doesnt feel out of place. The menu is short but the food is excellent, forgoing typical bar food for panini, antipasto, and some of the best chili in NEPA. The folks behind the bar really know their beer and will have no trouble helping you find something youll enjoy from the dozens of imports and micros available. There is also a rotating limited selection of vintage ales on hand; some of the best beers Ive ever had have come from this cooler. Jacks is certainly worth a visit! (And a second... And a third...)

Had a very friendly, beer-centric bartender who guided us to good local brews and a marathon that well be doing in the fall. Great vibe in an older house converted to a bar with relaxed seating, great beer, interesting vegetarian bar food, and a good local crowd. Visit started with car alarm problems, probably waking the entire neighborhood, but ended well. Spinach artichoke dip was very good and unique, drinks well-mixed, and bar conversation engaging. Recommended.

Hidden gem housed in what looks literally like a house, Jacks is a cool place to be. The extensive beer list has a wide range of craft bottles and macro drafts to please anyone. The short and sweet menu has basically two selections - paninis and Mediterranean lite fare. No parking, but its never hard to find on street parking. Get to Jacks early enough to grab a couch and you really get to settle in for the night. Theres no other place like it in Scranton.

I cant believe Scranton has a bar like this. Very nice interior design. I love the relax and chill atmosphere. They keep their food menu simple. We ordered Vegetarian Panini #1 and half portion of the Antipasto Platter. They did a very good job serving the food. Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful pub boutique bar at any level, decor is very eclectic and tasteful, nice beer selection, hipster crowd. Dont let the plain outside facade fool you! Food is pannini style and surprisingly not too bad, it was fresh with a nice pesto sauce. Its gonna be a regular spot for me now.

Very Cool upscale neighborhood bar, full bar, wine and nice craft beer selection. Best chili in Scranton, some of the best chili Ive had. Somewhat pricey, but if your not on a budget, check this place out. Food is great!
