PLEASE READ this ENTIRE review… We went to the Pit Stop Tavern and Restaurant in Boyertown, PA with another family (7 of us, 4 adults and 3 kids). The service was very slow (getting our first drink took about 20 minutes from the time we sat down) but we expected that based on some of the reviews we had read. We were still anxious to try these “great steaks” we had heard about. Once the meals came, we started eating. The adults were chatting with each other at one end of the table and the kids at the other. Towards the end of the meal, my son said he felt his steak was very fatty. “Fatty” wasn’t the word. His plate was covered with fat. The steak he was served had to be at least 60% complete FAT. My steak was unusually fatty too (we had the same cut…Delmonico) but I didn’t have near what he had. We mentioned it to the waitress who agreed that it was a lot of fat. She said she would show it to the manager. Later she brought the bill to us and didn’t say anything. I asked her if she showed it to the manager and she said that she did and I should talk to the manager at the bar when I paid the bill (bill was $285 for 7 of us). I mentioned it to the manager when presenting the bill and the manager said “all that fat did NOT come from one cut of beef”. I said…it did. She said there is no way that it did and she suggested that we gathered the fat from ALL of our plates and put it on HIS plate. Let me tell you that we eat out at restaurants ALL the time (often 3 times per week) and often times my wife and I will eat at dining establishments much more expensive than the Pit Stop. I would never consider moving fat from one plate to another in an effort to save $30 on a nearly $300 bill. I told the person in charge that this was ridiculous and that I would NEVER do something like that. She would not back down from her accusation. I was SO offended. She was basically calling me a liar and a cheat (which I am neither). I paid the full bill (but did loudly profess how offended I was) and left. The owner was away on vacation so I couldn’t speak to him. I did send an e-mail to them the following morning. We will see if he responds. But being so offended and treated SO poorly, I decided I was going to share my story because people deserve to know. I am an upscale, local business owner myself…so I am appalled at the way I was treated at the Pit Stop. If you are NOT concerned about good service or the quality of your food, I will agree that the cuts of beef are huge at the Pit Stop. But you should expect a lot of fat and NO SATISFACTION from the staff if unhappy with your meal. I would NEVER go back to the Pit Stop Restaurant and Tavern of Boyertown, PA.

My boyfriend and I went to the Pit Stop for valentines day last year. We expected it to be busy being that day but the service we received was ridiculous. It took almost half an hour to get our drinks after we were seated. We waited close to an hour for our food to arrive, the tables on either side of us sat down after and were served first. When asked why we still hadnt gotten our plates we were told well done takes longer. The woman to my right ordered a much thicker cut well done and had almost finished by the time I was finally served a medium well steak. Between us we had asked the waitress 3 times for a glass of milk that we never received and when I asked the manager why our waitress seemed to be ignoring us I was told it was because we were rude and she didnt want to come near us. Even if that were the case you dont ignore customers. When we received our check we were charged for the glass of milk and the manager on duty fought with us. Then declined my boyfriends signature for his credit card stating she needed a "real signature" Worst Service EVER!! Never going back and I tell everyone how horrible it is.

I took 6 people up to the Pit Stop on a very uncrowded night, I think there was two other tables being served. This was on April 15th, 2015, 7pm. I have been to the Pit Stop many times in my life and it was always great, until now. I spent $250 for six people and thats with a $24 off for six dinners. The waitress asked us how our dinner was and the table went silent, I was totally embarrassed, she did not even care. I knew my Delmonico steak was tough and my HOMEMADE baked beans were microwaved so long they were chewy.I then asked everyone how their meal was and they all said "I would never go back to this restaurant, the food was horrible. I had complained before about 7 years ago about the quality of my steak and the owner said, and I quote "I hope you are not looking for your money back", I just turned and walked out. It was 3 years later I went back and it was no better. I am done with the Pit Stop. I rather go to Longhorn, A CHAIN RESTAURANT, before going there again

My husband and I happened to have been at the Pit Stop Tavern the same night as this "fatty steak" incident. We were seated in a room right off of the bar. Our service was great, however we did wait a little while for a food as they seemed to be busy. As we were trying to enjoy our meals, a group of customers went to pay their bill at the bar and they started causing an uproar about their steak being too fatty. I found it to be very rude of these customers to cause such a big scene while fellow diners were trying to enjoy their meals. There was no need to take matters to this extreme. Our waitress was very nice and apologized to us for the way that these customers decided to act in public. I must add that I too had a delmonico and it was the best steak Ive had in a while.

The service was horrible, the amount of time we waited to get our food was outrageously long...an hour and a half. Two people asked what we wanted to drink and failed to get it so I had to get up and seek out one of them while the other one I found sitting and eating his dinner. When the food did come one person did like the filet mignon they ordered but the ribs I ordered were terrible. This is the second time we have gone to this place and the first time we went...again the wait time was very long. We will never go again...it was not worth paying those prices for the service, wait nor food that we received.
