UPDATE: 2/2/16: I have to give these people a better review now. Theyve consistently been open for the last 2 months. And their food is better than before. Particularly their soups. The black bean soup is the best Ive ever eaten. The chicken tortilla soup, Chipotle white bean and chicken soup, chuck wagon soup, and the chili are all superb. Happy that Dreamers is back on track. Ive taken out food from Dreamers many times. Sandwiches are fine, if a bit over-complicated. Potato salad is not very good. Their bagel slice chips are quite good, or at least they used to be. The last few times I had them they were oily/greasy and way too salty. My main complaint with Dreamers is that it is practically never open anymore. In the last 12 months, Ive made at least 2 dozen attempts to order food from Dreamers and they have been closed for one reason or another (usually illness is what the website says) every time. EVERY TIME. Thats at least 24 times in a 12-month period. I just tried again today. Guess what? CLOSED (due to family emergency). I respect that this is a family-owned operation and not some chain, but come on. Its gotten ridiculous. UPDATE: 9/2015: Still closed. To make matters worse, when you check their site it says, "Closed through [insert todays date]." Then when you check it the next day, "Closed through [insert todays date]." Look, if youre going to be closed for more than one consecutive day (you are 99.9% of the time), do not pretend like youre going to be open the next day. Just let us know the entire time youre closed. "Closed through November 20, 2032." Its really frustrating and a giant "f-you" to your customers to make us come back day-to-day.

I read reviews and decided to visit the cafe. First, I did not like the kitchen exposed to the eating area. Secondly, the refrigerator which is used to store some of the food preparation is located near the entry and eating area. I ordered the crab cake. I asked the server if she recommended it,and she was very positive that it was delicious and more crab than filling. It was so bad, after my first bite I threw it out. It tasted old and hardly and crabmeat. My husband ordered a sandwich and was also let down after his first bite. We wasted money after our first bite, and our last visit. The cafe needs a good cleaning and repaint job. The air condition was filthy. The cafe looks cute on the outside, but as a culinary cook, I take in the full picture.

Dreamers Cafe has been a staple of the area for quite sometime! They used to be located by Claires, further up by Philly Pike & Silverside Rd. Now, they are at their new location, just a little further north on Philly Pike. They have a great assortment of unique sandwiches/wraps & also great buffalo wings available in a wide range of spice levels. The only "issue," if you will, is that they dont keep a normal schedule or hours, & will often close up shop totally out of the blue. That being said, just make sure you give them a quick phone call to double check if theyre open. Itll save you a potential wasted trip and the aggravation by just assuming.

This hard to find hidden gem tucked in next to the Dollar Tree will surprise you with delicious cleverly named sandwiches. Once you get past the lackluster ambiance that has no indication that the business even exists or taped up pictures of locally performed play posters like “Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat” you’re in for a treat! These cold cut sandwiches will warm your hearts and keep you coming back!

The foods good and the people are very nice. Unfortunately theyre closed a lot. So far in 2015 theyve been closed more than theyve been open. They were closed for around 3 months straight and then they opened for just a couple of weeks before they closed again. Id rate them higher if they ran like a regular business and were available often enough to be able to just stop in for something when the mood strikes.

Great food, just call ahead first and if you see a "well be back on XXXX" sign on their door do not trust it. Call. I have been bitten by their rolling sense of when vacations over more times than I can count. As an ex-midwesterner and west coaster I am kind of shocked by this behavior but a few other DE places are notorious for this too. Slacking in this state is elevated to an art form.

Dreamers is a great restaurant with amazing food, but they are constantly closed. I know they had a little rough patch but I really wish they could hire some people to cover for them while they are unavailable. I swear theyre closed more then they are open. I dont understand how they still have the business running. I would give them 5 stars if they were open more often.

Great food but this restaurant is completely unreliable. It has been closed for weeks. The message keeps changing saying it will open in a week. A week comes and the message is changed to say it will be closed another week. Make sure to call before you go. From what I understand the restaurant closes without notice all the time.

I was very excited to stop by the new location which provides much more seating. The sandwich selection is second to none especially when we live in the land of the hoagie. Finding a deli type of selection is difficult and they have so many choices you can go a long time until youd have to repeat. The sandwiches are large and tasty.

The Food is AMAZING when they are open Like many of their other reviews, It would have a ☆☆☆☆☆ rating if it were open. While they have had it posted that there were illnesses within this family owned business, they are constantly changing the date of reopening. Time to officially find a new favorite take-out place. So sad.....

What a great place to get a delicious sandwich. My favorite thing about Dreamers is that I can walk in, order the Nitro chicken (D5) then while waiting walk to the connecting store and try on some shoes and a dress while its being prepared. Last week I got a whole new wardrobe for 10% off using my Dreamers receipt!

Ok food, nothing crazy. Some of the smallest wings Ive seen at any restaurant, almost laughable. Their homemade hotsauce is pretty good, tried mild and hot and was pleased with both. The decor is a little odd, but thats really no big deal. Will probably try it again one day, but I wont be rushing back.

Yes the food is amazing. Being from Wilmington and recently moving out of state whenever I'm back in the area I stop by to grab a bite to eat and they're never opened anymore it seems... The place is horribly managed.... However the food is so worth it when they're actually open

I cant drink sodas and other typical beverages that are served out, so always bring my own drink. First time I was ever told I would have to put my drink away! I just decided to take my meal to go. I would have just left it if my boyfriend didnt love their wings. How ridiculous!
