Its not a terrible place just in the wrong location It seems as if they have been here for years. Which could be a great thing or a not so great. I believe its family owned and operated. Staff seemed a little stuck up to me. Didnt really feel welcomed. It seems as if they need to be open to the idea of having new people come around not just theyre usually customers. The food good the shakes are super fancy, but just dont have that great of flavor. They also take a very long time to get to you. Forget about it when it comes to getting them with a group. They wont come out together. Shakes are over priced. I will respect that when they make the fancy shakes it should cost more, but I feel as though they should be something to be remembered and theyre not. Food is good just way over priced compared to other diners near by. The place is hard to spot if youre not looking out for it. They do have parking in the rear of the building its just kind of a pain to get back there if you miss it. The biggest thing that breaks it for me is that theyre only open till 9pm. Thats a big downside for me and especially for a diner. I like to be able to go late at night when Im craving shakes and diner food. Location, a better attitude, better prices, and open later would make this a better place. Check it out for yourself. Just be prepared spend a few dollars for just diner food. Try the shakes and youll see what I mean.

I think the owner of this diner is spoiled by their regulars. The wait staff in this place works on snail speed. The owner seems to be a control freak and has to do everything and their wait staff stands there staring at customers who were waiting to be seated. I am a delivery driver and the owner had me waiting over 35 minutes to pick up an order. When I pointed this out to him he proceeded to argue with me in front of his customers. I was livid and cancelled the delivery. I hope the customer never got their order. I always see their stupid crazy shakes all over instagram because of those shakes and they get likes and people raving about this place. I dunno, seems like to me if you are in business you are good to people, including delivery people who are making it possible for you to offer delivery service WHO DONT GET PAID TO STAND AROUND WHILE YOU GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. My family ran a breakfast/lunch counter for 10 yrs I know what fast service is and I also know when one of the owners is bad it will taint the reputation of a business. I would recommend any other place, in fact magees curbside is just around the corner. They seem more innovative. Or Luckys on restaurant row on bedford

The place looked very seedy from the outside. We were traveling to New Haven, so we were not in a town we know, and it took us several circles around the block before we found its parking . . . very weird. Once we were inside, the place looked much better and totally different from what we were expecting from the outside. We ordered "breakfast-like" items . . . omelets and such. The food was good, the staff were very cordial. And the price is in the reasonable range. But, 5 hours later, I was throwing up into my toilet. That was the first time I had thrown up in 15 years . . . and gave me an aversion to omelets . . . I am yet to have an omelet . . . Im not going to say it is their food that gave me some bug, but I cant place it on anything else since I hadnt eaten anything else that day. Just - buyer beware!

I had my son with me for the weekend and decide to finally give this diner a try. I can say i am very happy with this decision. Ordered two Hungry man. Extremely happy. Even after the meal. I believe one of the owners. He gave my son a donut for free and to me that is something i appreciate. On a side note those donuts are so good. Definitely will stop by for breakfast or even a meal again Sorry Ihop. * Only con i have about Elm street diner is that. I asked for no pork or sausage. Pork gives me a upset stomach cause i stop eating it yrs ago , and when i was pouring syrup on my pancakes i found bacon under it. I switch plates with my son cause of that.

Ive never written a review before, but their food was so terrible i had to. I ordered breakfast from them: 2 eggs over medium, bacon, ham & sausage with home fries and toast. Everything was terrible but the eggs and ham. I mean how do you mess up breakfast? A meal so easy to make. The home fries were old and dry. The sausage was extremely dry and you can tell it was old. The bacon was burnt, old and tasted bitter. The food was disgusting. I wouldnt recommend anyone to this diner and this is my first and last time getting food from them.

We came in after closing for milkshakes and the staff was so friendly, nice, and welcoming. I was presented with the best milkshake that went above expectations that was 2 feet high with a sparkler doughnuts, rick candy, and a piece of cake on the top! The manager gave us free Cannolis and donuts that were extra from the night. How nice! Ill definitely be back and will tell others about this place.

We got the eggs benedict, two eggs any style and a milkshake. Everything came out quickly and everyone who worked there seemed nice. Looking around all their milkshakes look incredible. On Yelp they have an offer for 1 free homemade donut, sadly we did not get one since they were all out. I look forward to going here again and getting a donut!

The food was wonderful unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired...never came back to check if we wanted more coffee or anything else unless we were able to get his attention as he ran by..also personal pet peeve hate it when the wait staff is not paying attention when you are giving your order then he asks 2 times what did you say.

If I could zero stars I would. Dont waste your money here. I dont want to put it out there like that but its hard to not see it that way, being that everyone received their orders but myself (who just so happened to be the only black person there) it was distasteful and sad to see a business treat people that way

Went here and the poor waiter was clearly the only one on staff, someone must have called out. Despite being stressed he was kind as heck and served us somewhat quickly. The milkshakes are good but covered on frosting on the outside, almost exceedingly sweet (and I love sweet). Order a glass of water with them!!

The service was terrible. Sat down and waited forty minutes for a milkshake and then waited for them to take our food order. They never ended up taking it! We waited even longer for the bill and at the point we were better off going to Taco Bell. If I could give it no stars, I would.
