We have tried to eat there several times over the past 3 weeks. Service is slow at best and management is horrible. When did diners get so expensive? They do not care how the food is when they give it to you all they want is your money. Ate there several nights ago only got half the food we were charged for and the manager argued with us and told us we should have said something. However, we didnt know our meal was suppose to come with garlic bread until the table next to us got it and we were leaving. And service was so slow that we gave up waiting for the kids to get there dessert that was suppose to come with the meal. Forget a drink refill. Tonight I ordered chopped steak the plate came to me swimming in blood. I sent it back, when it returned the blood was still on the plate and the mashed potatoes were swimming in it, but was told it would be ok to eat because they heated it more. I asked for the manager who proceeded to scream at me that his meat comes from Omaha Steak, as if this makes a difference seeing as they had a ground beef recall in 2006, and they specially grind it for them and it is just that his meat is juicy.. I have owned a restaurant, I can tell you this is NOT TRUE AT ALL. Ground beef cooked to the proper temp does not leave a murder scene on your plate. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS, YOU HEALTH MAY DEPEND ON IT! Its a shame it use to be a great place to eat 25 years ago.

I will never go back here again or recommend to anyone. I thought I would take my mother out to breakfast and the food was fine as well as my waitress. Another waitress approaches my table and tells me to get off of my cell phone and walks away. There were no other customers seated near by so I asked the closest customers to me if my phone call was bothering them and they said they had no idea I was even on the phone. They were disgusted with the waitresses behavior just as I was. When I brought this to the attention to the woman who said she was the manager she did not care and told me there are plenty of restaurants where you cannot bring a cell phone. She was unapologetic and defended the rude waitress as she stood behind her continuing to say rude things and point at myself and my mother. I could not believe this experience. I asked for the information of the owner and she refused. I paid, left the waitress who helped me a tip and left my food there unfinished. I will never return.

The food is good and most of the wait staff and cashier very friendly. Some are more attentive than others. However, there is one waitress (and they know who this is) who is very standoffish and frequently rude. She acts like its our privilege to be served by her, rather than the other way around. A real primadona. I like the location of the Windmill Diner, but dread getting assigned to this waitress, so I now go over to Carmel, instead.

The food was good but there were flies and gnats flying around. In the middle of winter it cant be a good sign. In the middle of our meal our waitress leaves our check saying shes being put on the other side of the restaurant. So we have to flag someone down if we need something and we had to refill our own waters because there was no one around. Not a great experience.

My husband and I went recently since we saw it was under new ownership. We werent greeted at the door when someone seated us, the waitress left some of our order at the wrong table, and the French toast I had was made with stale bread. And when we left no one asked how everything was, which also surprised me. Pretty disappointed, at least Everready diner isnt far away.

2 stars. Average diner. I had to wait 10 minutes for a seat even though it wasnt busy. Food was average as were the portion sizes. French toast was somewhat soggy. Coffee was good though. No good options for those who want a full breakfast ie eggs/bacon/toast/meat/potatoes....you have to end up ordering stuff on the side which is kind of annoying.

The first time we went there it was overcrowded with a very short staff. The food took forever and did not come as ordered. Tonight we ordered 2 salads w/ dressing on the side as take out. Both salads were soaked in dressing and we threw them out ($20 for 2 small salads that we couldnt eat). Shouldve learned our lesson the first time!

Despite the multiple open booths they were very slow to seat us. Waitress was kind and friendly. Omelette was great. French toast not cooked all the way in the center. Pancakes mediocre. Food came out quick after we ordered. We might eat there again but may vary our food choice a bit.

My wife and I went to the Windmill Diner for dinner Friday night January 10th. I ordered the linguine and scallops, the meal was excellent. It was by far the best meal I have had in a very long time. Our weightier Bob provided great service. The restaurant was very clean like always.

This place was AMAZING! Coming from Florida, where Mom and Pop dinners are a dying trend, it was fantastic to see that vibe alive and well here in Danbury. The Chala French toast. Get it. Love it. Have a great day after that.

I come here regularly. Food is not the best, but good. Service is usually fast but not rushed. You can tell allot of regulars come here. I usually come when I get my cars serviced at the garage across the street.

♿ assesible is huge and the food is amazing. Came back on another visit and they have plans to redo the accessible ramp. The ramp they have now is better than most and Id give 6 stars just for that alone.

The quintessential diner experiance! Tasty food at reasonable prices. Appropriately personable staff. One of my favorite places in the danbury area - I can recommend it with zero hesitations.

I went to this restaurant a lot because the service and food were always good until one day I ordered a giro and got badly sick. I will never eat here again because I am afraid to.

Had dinner there few time. Fish was dry and the sides were bland. Not bad enough to ask them to take it back, but bad enough not to try again. Service was good and friendly.

Service was lousy food was just okay. We have been here many times and have always been happy with the food and service but this time both left a lot to be desired. :-(
