so I gave them their last chance last night. Never going back. Seriously I hate restaurants who spend so much effort on obtaining a certain look...but the food is just not done well at all. I ordered the "salumi plate" --- total joke. I expected what other fine Italian restaurants do as a sort of "butcher block" of meats and cheeses (what the menu promised). I got, on a plate: six slices of two types of meat, two small pieces of cheese, a pile of roasted red peppers (from a jar) and a pile of what appeared to be pickled green peppers... and a scoop of ricotta cheese. No olives. None. And then the three "artisan" olive oils...and no bread. Do they expect people to spread ricotta cheese on a piece of meat and dip it in olive oil? it was bizarre to say the least, and not at all worth the money. This is the third time I"ve been disappointed...what is everyone else seeing that I am not? and btw, the service was a bit snotty. AND dont order the polenta fries -- they are weird and heavy and sort of tasteless.

I went to Carl Anthonys the other day for lunch. The beer i wasnted kicked and the bartender looked to tired to switch the lines so asked how bad i really wanted the beer. I decided on wine to be nice to him.Then I ask for a pizza with no cheese and veggies which was not on the menu, but very easy to make. The cost of the cheapest pizza was $12 and the most expensive pizzas which were New York Strip pizza or Clam and shrimp pizza was $17.99. I figured mine would be somewhere in the middle, however I was charger $18 for a pizza with no cheese 3 veggies. When i asked about it the bartender said, just pay it and then my manager can credit you card if you leave you number. I thought this was observed but did as he said. Its been 3 days and no call, i hate this place because of a kicked keg and 3 dollars. Kinda silly, but i would never go again because of the service of the staff.

My wife and I have been going to CA for around 15 years. We always find the staff freindly and attentive. We usually are seated at the bar by choice and have friends that join us on a regular basis. The menu is creative with many choices and the best thing is its very consistant every time you order the same dish. Sam DaVellis, the Owner, is an outstanding chef and very creative. If you dont see what you want on the menu or you want it a certain way, just ask, he is very accomodating. I really like the decor, but maybe that"s because I was the architect. I have recommended CA to many of my friends and they have all been very satisfied. Enjoy!

We enjoy going to Carl Anthonys Trattoria in Monroe, CT. No matter what we order on the menu, we have been very pleased. My favorite is the Wood Grilled Salmon. One of the best salmon entrees Ive had anywhere. The servers are great and very attentive to my dietary restrictions. I am gluten free, and have a shellfish allergy. Carl Anthonys has always been very accommodating to adjust an entree to suit my needs. Also, the atmosphere is lovely, the service excellent. A great place to sit an relax and really enjoy a meal.

Overall the service was extremely slow. Waitress only had 3 tables but seemed to disappear for 15 min every time she left the area. The food was really overpriced for what you get. Their "a la carte" menu just seems like a way to charge more. Went on a recommendation of a friend on their creme brulee, but they were not very well done at all. There "small cup" presentation limited the enjoyment of the finely crisped top.

Food at this place was off the chart, always heard about this place but hesitant. Now that we came in we probably wont be going anywhere else. Great presentaion on all dishes, food reminded us of dinning in the city, staff on point extensive wine list for such a small establishment. After dinning dont be shy to go in the bar.....night life ultra hip with live music and DJ. Best martinis around.....dont miss out

Carl Anthonys Trattoria is always a great experience! The food is great. The staff is really friendly. We enjoy many of the creative dishes on the menu and always love the different specials. Also, on Friday nights they have some great bands which makes for a fun time to start the weekend. It will even be better in the summer out on their patio!

Very popular with local crowd, so the narrow interior layout and bar are nearly always full. Been here at least 1/2 doz times; so once you secured the table the menu is varied and good enough across the dishes offered to keep you coming back. Wine selection could be better and varied more often.

Eat here often. Food is great. Gnocchi gorgonzola is the best I have had. Pasta is so light and flavorful. Coffee and donuts dessert will not disappoint. Staff is friendly and attentive.
