Some of the reviews here are complaining about the lady behind the counter being rude. I have to say, I come here on an almost daily basis, sometimes for both breakfast and lunch, and I can say with confidence that these reviews are unequivocally wrong. Even when extremely busy, she handles herself with grace. I have observed customers complain to her about coffee during rush hour traffic in an extremely rude manner, and when this occurred, she handled herself with grace. These customers were cranky elderly woman who I believe are biased against the register lady for personal reasons. The lady at the register has a knack for remembering the orders of repeat customers, is kind and respectful, and handles herself with grace during busy periods. Her excellent service is a major part of why I come here almost daily (and why I actively recommend this deli to my family and friends).

Zero stars! I used my debit card 3 times in the past 6 months and when they swipe the debit/credit card, the girl at the counter hits an extra number to raise my breakfast sandwich from $3.53 to $35.31. THREE TIMES this has happened!!! One time, my lunch cost me $56.41 instead of $5.64! Get the idea??? Ask for a receipt every time and dont leave until youve checked it thoroughly! No exceptions! In fact, go somewhere else. I have a few theories: shes blind as a bat, she has sticky fingers, sticky keypad, or shes in on it with the owner to hit that extra number and he gives her the kickbacks. Very very very angry about this!

i live in southbury and i go to deli once in a while to get breakfast sandwich. i like their food but i DO NOT LIKE their front woman who takes money. she is very grumpy and rude. her attitude makes me hesitate to go there. she never smiles at anyone nor speaks kindly to anyone. the deli owner should consider training her or changing her to a different person. many elderly ppl go to this deli and they do not deserve that kind of attitude.

Ive gone full circle on the Leone owned Restaurants. This is one of his locations in neighboring Southbury. Consistency is the key to the offerings here. Boars head meats round out their delicious sandwiches. Great coffee and sandwich specials. The decor here is pleasing and relaxing based on the legends of 50s icons. Here youll be reminded of the best in music and sports history while knoshing on fantastic fare.

As promised, the owner responded to my review. Ive changed it to 5 stars and highly recommend this deli. Thank you for your prompt response. It really is a great place. The lady in front is annoying to put up with but as stated, its being addressed.

I work in Southbury for 15 years and I been going to Herritage Deli & Cafe for more than 7 years and is my favorite place to have breakfast and lunch, and I love the service, very nice people always smile on their face, nothing to complain!!!

Everything about the Heritage Deli is great - except for the moody woman behind the counter. Sometimes she is as sweet as sugar, and other times she is venomous and insulting. This is unfortunate, since otherwise, this deli is five stars.
