We went to Priya on a Friday evening for dinner and found the food was amazing. We ordered idli sambar, dahi vada, malai kofta, rice, paneer masala dosa and a margarita. The food was excellent and very tasty. The service was good and the waiter was attentive. The decor was nice and the seating was comfortable. We paid just under $40 for dinner for two and we ate the leftovers the next day for dinner. We have heard Priya has a wonderful buffet and we will try the buffet next time we visit Priya. We live 45 minutes away from Priya but it is worth the drive. Highly Recommended Restaurant. I have also recently been to the Weekend Buffet dinner at Priya and found the food was fabulous. They have both North and South Indian food at the buffet and it is very well done with lots of wonderful food.

I am not from Hartord. When I went to watch a movie ("Em Maaya Chesaave...") in Bloomfield, CT from Albany, NY ... I have been to this restaurant (some one told that this is the decent place to get dum biryani..I am Hyderabadi and love biryani). It was Sunday afternoon lunch buffet. GOOD => Veggie dishes => Veggie Biryani (I liked this) => Snacks => Mutton curry (OK kind of) => All dishes are with decent spice... BAD => Chicken Biryani ( I would rate 3/10) I am very disappointed. => Tandoori UGLY => None Over all, I would recommend this place to any one. I am not that happy (I rated 3 star ) because, I went with lots of expectations on biryani...If I would have visited with out those expectations then I may have give 4 star.

This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants, and whenever I am in Connecticut I try to stop in for its lunch buffet. Priya’s buffet serves a good variety of well-prepared choices including many – if I am not mistaken – south Indian dishes. I love their yogurt rice, a dish I rarely see in Indian restaurants. The weekday buffet is very good but the weekend one is excellent with an even broader selection. Be prepared to wait on the weekends as the line often runs out the door. My only admonition – and it’s a minor one – is stick to beer and avoid ordering liquor here: the one time I ordered a gin on the rocks, the bartender took quite literally the notion of a 1.5oz shot.

Have had multiple bad experiences at this restaurant. We decided to give it one more try when we had guests over. This time, two dishes in particular (samosa chaat and dal makhani) were clearly spoilt. Every single person in our party realized this. What is more disturbing is that after telling the staff about this, nobody seemed to care. Nobody even attended to us. Everyone just disappeared and we were on our own. We still left the waiter a tip since it was not his fault. We definitely do not recommend this place to anyone. Will never go back nor order from this establishment again.

I was born and spent 21yrs in Chennai, India and been in US the past 32 years - widely travel in all 50 states, many EU countries, and few trips in far east and Australia. I am fusion foodie and an expert in Indian food - Every place I have eaten in over 1000 indian restaurants globally. Priya is one of my most favorite and is in my Top 10 places to eat Indian food. I eat there 2 times a month even though I can cook as good of the same quality food! The secret is their "6 sigma" consistency! The owner Prabakar is a perfectionist and listens to the customers!!!

It was very good when we started 2 years back but gradually quality started deteriorating. Price was increased in December and during my last visit in Feb, 2016, quality was worst, service was horrible and the kids are also charged full price. They too very long time to refill rotis. My 8 yr son told me that I cook better food than served. He always lived their food but this time visit was worst. Started hunting for better Indian restaurants to visit.

Called in an order yesterday and asked if they could have it ready by 5pm & they said no problem, we can have it ready by 4pm if that works better for you. I told them that 5pm would work since thats when the website said they opened anyway. Got there...they didnt open the doors until 5:15pm and never got my PRE-ORDERED food until 5:30. UNACCEPTABLE!!! Dont offer a customer something if you cant follow through with it. Wont be going there again.

We visited this place for a buffet and the owner decided to charge us a heavy gratuity when we were planning to check out. On asking for an explanation he told us that we took long to eat.Make sure you check with him how long you are supposed to take to finish the meal before you sit down to have it. Being Indian, I can also vouch that the food isnt great. Visit coromandel if you want to have better food as well as better service.

This was one of the best lunch buffets Ive been to in the area - great quality South Indian food. The sambar is always a good indicator of quality, and the sambar with dosa/idli/vada was on point! The food was authentically South Indian - and I loved that they did not compromise on the spice level. My other favorites were the goat biriyani, fish curry and the okra.

They have a decent south indian fare which is rare in CT. They have a good spread for a buffet and one of the few indian buffets where i have seen chicken, mutton and fish all served in the weekend buffer (though I couldnt capitalise being a veggie). By the way they specifically dont take AMEX Costco card -probably bcos of higher fees of amex???

We had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Chennai, Goat Biryani. The gravies are thick and intensely beautiful. Service was excellent on a Monday night. I have had indian food that is hot and harsh. This place can serve spicy hot and still have tons of great flavor. If you are in the Hartford area, this is the place to go.
