We have been coming in here every Sunday since I can remember and they just keep getting better, yes the prices have gone up but look at our economy What prompted me to write this review was after I saw or should I say read a terrible review. posted by Ken D. Speaking from our experiences and quite often the company we bring they all love Lizs cooking you cant beat her omelets her toast is always warm and her home fries and delicious. She has been cooking for them for years and always performs exceptionally For your one time visit and make a .harsh judgement isnt fair to liz. And if your problem was that bad why didnt you ask to speak to Carol (the owner) she is there everyday. I find it necessary to stick up for her because she is a wonderful person inside and out and her wait staff does not walk on eggshells believe us it is a family runned business there may be days you go in and it is quite as a mouse there may be others and it sounds like a barn burner but the one thing through it all is Lizs contagious smile and her good morning wave. To make other diners think that some wild woman is cooking on the grill is just unfair to liz,,,,,, here in town we all no and love her did you ever think maybe she was having a bad morning that does happen sometimes. Try to have a good day to sum all this up the Dairy Bar is still the best place to get breakfast on the weekends you can go yourself and see and you will be thrilled you did. I am not related to anyone that works at the restaurant just a long time customer my husband and I..

Having been regular customers there for quite some time we were a little upset when the new kitchen staff took over we truly loved the other cook, she would have our breakfast waiting when she saw us pull up with that being said this new female cook is not half as friendly as Liz was and on several occasion my husband and I watched her go outside smoke and come back in not washing her hands. She burn everything, the last straw was this past Friday I got my usual omelette, and once again it was burnt,I myself went back and gave it to the cook and told her its was burnt, she rolled her eyes mumbled something under her breath and walked away,in the meantime the owner came out to ask what was going on (Carol Jones) then the owner and cook started talking loudly that all I do is complain, nothing is ever good enough.I was so mad I told my husband lets go. I told the waitress Kim we will never be back and she should tell Carol to wait for the customer to leave before she starts talking about them. We will never go there again and we usually bring the whole family on Sundays. We will only go to HomeTown. You would think with the amount of bussines they have lost since Liz quit, they would be a little bit nicer to there regulars! Sandy and Roy

Weve only recently started coming to the Prospect Dairy Bar but after this mornings meal this is the last time well be going there. On the 3 other occasions that weve gone there weve apparently been lucky enough to miss the female grill person that was working this morning. On a morning when there were few people in the restaurant youd think that cooking breakfast for 3 adults and 1 child would take less than 15 minutes for an experienced grill cook but that was not the case here. We received our meals one at a time after 35 minutes of waiting all while listening to the grill cook bitching and moaning at the waitstaff. You could almost feel them walking on eggshells around her and as our meals were set in front of us quiet apologies were made for the long wait time. When our waitress mentioned to my wife that tomatoes are included in her omelet and would she like them the cook looked over, threw up her hands and yelled, "what do you want me to do about it now"? And although the food was good the slow cook with a crappy attitude ruined our breakfast and probably most of the other diners breakfasts as well. Avoid this place unless your dying of starvation!

I couldnt understand why all the haters were ripping apart the Dairy Bar. I looked at a few of the reviews on other sites one of them was really nasty and you no it was from the owner just the way it was worded,Anywho went there just to see for myself what all the fuss was about and now I can see why the girl that used to be behind the grill is no longer there,in her place is a cook that worked there years ago and if my memory served me right now I can see all the fussing. This girl has a lousy attitude takes way too long to get your order and when you finally do it sucks plain and simple. When I went down to the Regencey to see my Aunt I told her how I stopped there to get a little something and she sadi "I wish you had told me I would have told you go to McDonalds" this coming from an 80+ woman. So yes it has changed and not for the better. The only positive thing was that Kim was still there shes wonderful quick and always has a smile for us.

Found this place not long after work relocated me to Prospect CT. Quickly became a regular stop for lunch and late breakfast. Food is prepared at an "open" grill behind the counter, which I like. And everything Ive ever ordered here has been good. Theres nothing earth shattering here, but everything is consistently prepared and delicious. Service is touch and go, but even at its worst, its tolerable. Great milkshakes too. Its a diner people, if you walk in here expecting more than that...you will be disappointed.

This is a small family run business where after going there 2 or 3 times, the people will know you. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner, and now also have an ice cream parlor. During our particular visit we sat at the counter next to Prospects Mayor Chatfield. He is apparently in there several times a day because the waitress knew what he wanted without him saying a word.

I have been coming here since I was a little girl. I grew up going here with Grandmother(God rest her soul) She would bring my brother and I here every week. Now I bring my children here as much as I can. Service is always amazing as well as the food. I love the decor. This place has giving me many wonderful memories with my family and my own childhood.

Came here after church with a few friends and everything that could have went wrong with my breakfast did. Toast and bacon too soggy, eggs too dry, coffee not good. I thought it was a cute place and loved the name just wasnt impressed with the experience.

I love bringing my kids here. They get a little cardboard/paper car with their meal inside, a little candy and a trinket. The theme is retro/50s diner with an old juke box. They have ice cream and delicious pie for desert too.

Come support a local restaurant! There arent many of these any more. Food is good, and the milk shakes are my favorite! Bring your kids, there is a old school theme for older cars etc. I think its cool.
