The food here *tastes* good, but I am now suffering from my second bout of food poisoning after eating something from this diner. The first time, I ordered a ruben and had horrible stomach pains. Since I have a lot of food sensitivities, I went to my chiropractor/nutritionist along with samples of the sandwich to see if I had a sensitivity/allergy to something in it. She said that I was reacting to the corned beef. Figuring that it was my problem, since Im allergic to several things, I told my husband to eat the leftovers. Then he ate the remainder of my ruben sandwich and got horrible diarrhea. Then yesterday, my husband brought home a "to go" order of pea soup. I saw it in the fridge and ate it, figuring it was from a deli. I got horrible heart burn and stomach pains. When I asked him where he got the pea soup, he said the Sea Crest diner! My mother-in-law had ordered the pea soup while she was there and thought it tasted delicious; thats why my husband brought some home. But when I called my MIL this morning, she said that she got food poisoning also! Im never going back there again. I cant take the risk.

I am a resident of Sayville and have been going to the Seacrest Diner for years and we have never been disappointed. The service is very efficient and courteous, the food is always delicious and the portions are large (I always have some to bring home!). The owner is very nice, he always comes over to the table to ask how everything is. Tonight I had their Greek salad with grilled chicken which is by far, the best Greek salad around! The best diner!

I see no reason to eat out here They dont make any particular food well its predominantly average. I had the seafood platter and the muscles had a very high and raw smell that was simply unacceptable for fresh seafood. My colleagues has a similar problem with the rather bland tasting food. Despite what you order the outcome of the food very generic tasting.There arent lots of combinations and options for food but they just done deliver on taste.

Went late on a sunday - empty place. The food was less tasty than I have come to expect from diners but was served in the same proportions and pricing (read: big plates, proportional prices). Also, was served two of the same dish when I only asked for one. Didnt fight it too hard, but they didnt immediately offer a refund over the confusion.

My salad had a hair in it my chicken cutlet had no flavor my daughters steak was all Grizzle she couldnt eat it the owner said Im sorry and walked away I will never return here terrible food and a terrible attitude for an owner

I love this diner !! Excellent food, service was great...except for the fact I was charged an extra $62 a week later!! How could this happen? Maybe the server reused my cc info for anothers meal and kept the cash??

Prices are terrific! A bit outdated looking but family owned and nice people. Seafood is fresh tasting too. Needs a bit more variety on board specials. However, food is good. Be sure to try the bread pudding!
