I went there during restaurant week. We all sat down at 5:45 and by 8:30 it was like pulling teeth just to get a coffee never mind a refill or a desert. I did put in an order for my desert with my meal order and with my coffee order yet it took so long I just gave up as I had been there so long and had a long drive. They did not have NEAR the amount of servers or experienced servers they should have had. (When one orders tea, one should not have to ask for the things that you put in tea or even a full pot of hot water) The food was very good. The service was not for a place with cloth table cloths. How they could bring out a few meals at a time and leave us sitting there for over 10 min. waiting for the others to come was ridiculous but being as that is how the salads came (scattered instead of all at once for the whole table) we just ended up starting to eat as we had been waiting so long, who knew what on earth was going to happen. I would have liked to tried one of their desserts but even after saying I would just take it to go it still didnt come 10 min later. I gave up and left by 8:45. I am not from New Haven but a lady there said Restaurant week is a big deal there. For such an important week I assume they all roll out the best. I ordered off of their restaurant week menu and what I did get of it was tasty but took much too long and was delivered like we were at a hot dog joint.

I have been to the old location of Goodfellas a number times and it never disappointed. However, this was my first time eating there since they moved to the new, expanded location. I think they need to move back because our experience was horrible! We ordered appetizers, three different entrees, and dessert. Aside from the dessert (which we only had because it was my friends birthday), everything tasted horrible. My friend ordered the oysters with linguine. When she took her fourth or so bite, she immediately grabbed her mouth. The oysters were filthy and full of sand. She pulled back her linguine and it was covered in dirty sand. She had to rinse her mouth several times, but the sand was stuck in between her teeth. It was disgusting. They did offer to replace it, but she said the dish wasnt good anyway so she didnt want another one. In addition, our waiter kept disappearing throughout the meal -- one time for over 35 minutes and another time for 25 minutes. The other waitstaff couldnt even find him -- either time! We were parked at meters so we were super annoyed that he had wasted so much of our time. Thankfully, no one received a parking ticket. I would have given a 1 star in my review if I hadnt been to the old location. Go back to your roots, Goodfellas!

NEVER AGAIN!! Love the theme, and the food is amazing! BUT, and this is a BIG one the servers could use a bit of tweeking, I have visited this resurant many times both for special occasions, and a plain evening meal on all but one time I have experienced Rude ,poor,and horriable service. I have returned ONLY due to trying to over look the service. But I can say that last weeks visit pushed us all too far. Our server seemed almost annoyed to have to wait on us,Did not have patience if a question was asked on the menu and never came back to see how we liked our food once delivered until it was time to order dessert/coffee. The resturant was not that busy and I feel I should not need to flag him down to order another drink , as my glass had been empty thru out my entire meal!I did note his name this time bc I have had the "pleasure "of having him wait on us before and was hoping he just was having a bad day! Nope! Just must be him. As for the others in the past. I do need to compliment our Busboy, didnt get his name but he was VERY VERY accomdating to our needs!! I am only posting this review as I do hope that someone who really deserves a good job will be hired in place of these arrogant, nasty servers. I have had better (nicer) service at Fast food places!

Decor and roof top seating was very nice. Food was delicious. However, SERVICE WAS EXTREMELY POOR. I went with five of my girlfriends last night, which was Thursday. We ordered five martinis, one looked like it had been spilled on the way over. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which during the tasting, our server spilled on the table cloth. He never apologized. He also dropped the eggplant tower special on my friend, never apologized. He also spilled water on my friend and in her purse. Lastly, at the end of our meal, we were rushed out the door. The patio was literally being hosed down with water while guests were still dining. My friend actually was getting wet by the watering of the flowers. The table behind us also complained about the water hitting their table. For the amount of money guests spend at this establishment, there should be no rush and the service NEEDS to improve. I also find it VERY DISCOURAGING with this many errors during a dinner service that not one manager came to our table to apologize. Being a Thursday night, I understand it can be busy, but in order to continue to build your business, common courtesy and service should be provided.

These people were awesome everyone was nice and at the same time they were a bunch of wise guys just as described they have the best food ive ever eaten and the atmosphere was incredible it was well worth the wait and the price i could not have chosen a better restaurant if i tried i highly recommend eating at this restaurant even the bartender and waiters kept coming by asking if i needed anything i have not found a single reastaurant where the people showed me this much respect and a passion for their job which just sells the fact that they took an old fashioned mob theme and made it work better than ever i know for a fact Ill be coming here again you will never find a place that did as well with their main focus and objectives in CT not to mention the phenomenal old fashioned sicilian style food

Food was great. But extremely expensive.I ordered the fetteccine Alfredo which was already 20.00 and added chicken for an additional 7.00. $27.00 for something that cost them maybe 7 dollars to make. The killer was we ordered a bottle of white zinfindal, they gave us a 7 dollar bottle of Sutter Home (everyone knows thats not an expensive wine) and charged us $32.00 for it. We ended up spending almost 200.00 for 2 apps, two meals,two deserts,and a bottle of cheap wine. I liked the food, but didnt feel it was worth that much.my double chocolate cake was very dense. Didnt like it.

Food: OK but not spectacular. As good as any other decent Italian restaurant. Ambiance: Good but can get noisy. Service: Worst, reasons below 1. I am not an Italian and will struggle with pronunciations, was ridiculed because of this. 2. Never bothered to explain about a dish when I asked, sort of either take it or leave it. 3. Never bothered to hear me for more than 10 secs, didnt even stand for 10 seconds. 4. I never felt like a customer. In short my day was ruined because of this restaurant and this damaged my general liking for stand alone restaurants. Avoid this.
