I got delivery from China House last night and I was very displeased. About the only thing that was done properly was that the order was correct, and they sent the extra packets of duck sauce, as requested, they charged me for them, but at least they were there. I ordered the SWEET N SOUR SHRIMP WITH PORK FRIED RICE and it came as four medium sized shrimp with sooo much of that spongy golden colored breading. The shrimp themselves were so very small compared to the amount of breading that covered it. After I pulled off the bread I was about to eat the shrimp in one bite...there were only 4 of them, and I paid almost $8 for this meal. The PORK FRIED RICE was nothing to write home about.. pretty ordinary...it came cold in temperature even though I live about 5 minutes from the restaurant....anyway...my boyfriend got the SHRIMP LO-MEIN and even though he is pretty easy to please he said to me about an hour after the meal, "didnt like that Chinese food too much" which is waaaayyy outta character because he doesnt usually complain about food, he just eats it... Well I will probably try and avoid this place next time, I am new to the area so my old favorite Chinese place doesnt reach me...Hopefully I can find a different one for this area!!

Ive been using China house for a while, and they are always late. Tonight I waited over an hour for basic chicken wings and egg rolls, I called once an hour passed because my sister had to get picked up from work. She said she will call the driver and call me back, five minutes went by and I called her back, she said oh I just called him go outside he is two minutes away. I explained to her tha I was already outside because I was in my car leaving and if hes not going to make it just cancel my order. I pulled off because he was not there and as I headed down the street he called me saying he was outside. He was not outside my house because he almost side swiped my car trying to get to my house. He was shocked when I said why did you cut me off. I would never order from here again. It was a good run but that dangerous driver and extreme waiting has turned me to other options.

I ordered through grub hub, about 10 minutes past the time the order was expected to arrive, I recieve a phone call from the delivery driver saying he cannot find my house. As I give directions and mention where my address is, he says he has no idea where that is. He then claims he cannot find it and that hes lost a few more towns away. I ask to speak to his manager and he gives me his managers number. I speak to the manager who is not helpful in the situation and attempts to argue with me about how the driver cant find my house. I eventually reported the incident to grub hub and recieved my refund. I would NEVER recommend eating at this establishment or trying to order from here.

This is a fast food Chinese restaurant and when compared to similar places it stands out with an extensive menu that theyre always adding to, including mei fun, the combos are great, low prices, the people in front are nice, the foods always fresh (crisp veggies) and theyve gotten special orders right every time. I always go there to order and wait for the food because delivery has been very slow in the past, but the atmosphere in the restaurant is kind of like a cafeteria (noisy and no privacy) so I dont eat there, but I live around the block so its convenient for me either way. 4 stars.

Ordered food for pickup(chicken wings and beef fried rice). Got home and noticed the food tasted sour, like it was on the verge of spoiling. Walked back to the restaurant and made my complaint. was REFUSED a refund and was given something else instead. Opted for fresh wings, french fries, and eggroll. Sour and spoiled again. Evidently they reuse the oil too often and whatever juices from the meat leaks into he oil and goes into everything. Horrible service and spoiled food. Will never return.

The best Chinese take out in the greater Hartford area. They will receive you with a smile and the best tasting food. They do an amazing job during the busy times and holidays. I wish them the greatest success and Im grateful for feeding me through the years. I recommend their shrimp lobster sauce over the best pork fried rice Ive ever had. I am a big Chinese food fanatic and eat it almost everywhere I travel to, and this is always the standard of taste I compare it to.

My boyfriend and I have been getting food from China House for years, and Ive never been displeased. They always leave the general tsaos in the frier for a little longer when I request it (so its crispier... yum...) And despite having to deal with a ton of people and orders, whoevers behind the register is always pleasant. Definitely not a 5 star restaurant yet the foods always fill me up, never had anything undercooked or heinously overcooked...

I ordered food then went to use the bathroom and wash my hands. Im sure I was dirtier after entering their bathroom with the black layers of dirt on there light fixtures and think that has obviously not been washed in years. Then when I went to sit at the table and wait for my food it was covered in multiple layers of food and disgusting this. I didnt take the food I asked for a refund and left because I didnt want to get sick eating their food

Service here is wonderful. We order from the same young girl (shamelessly) multiple times a month and she is always kind and polite. Weve never had a mistake on our order and the food is always consistently good. We dine all over the West Hartford area and have pretty decent palettes. For the service and value- we give you 5 stars. Thanks China House!

Beef did not look like beef or tasted like it!! Food was cold and took 1,5h to deliver when Im just 2 blocks away. When I asked for the refund the delivery guy came and was rude and told me that hes not gonna change it. Like are u serious?The worst Chinese food and service ever!!! Never order from them again absolute waste of money and time!!!

General Sous chicken is good, they delivered within 20 minutes of my call. They forgot to give me a fork though and idk why no delivery driver refuses to keep chopsticks in their vehicle.
