Food-4 Presentation-5 Atmosphere-3 Service-4 I had a good experience. The Sushi/Sashimi Taste great. While the wait wasnt short the food was delicious. The Hibachi was something special. They make it in front of you, A real show... they even play games to try to toss it in your mouth... its a lot of fun. The drinks are very nice. I was quite interested in their wide selection of teas (which you watch brew in front of you). As for the alcoholic beverages... They are what you pay for. The atmosphere is great. The lighting is comfortable, Seats are well cushioned. and ventilation is apparent. It does however suffer from a bit of duality. On one hand its a Japanese restaurant... On the other hand its a sports bar... Trying to be two different things does hurt the atmosphere a bit. The employees show this as well... on one hand a crew of (very hot) young women. And on another Japanese chefs and normal waiters. The servers were a little uncoordinated. I had 2 different waiters trying to serve me. They appeared to be doing a lot of clean up as well. But were kind and competent nonetheless.

Koto is awful. I used to love it until I worked there and got to see behind the scenes. The place is dirty, like a lot of restaurants. However, I’m sure that they violated more health codes at this place. The owners used to force the dishwasher to come in when he was sick and hed spend all day spitting phlegm into the trash while he washed dishes. Chefs would smoke and not wash their hands before coming in to cook at the hibachi. Oh yeah, don’t let your food touch the garnishes since they use those over and over again. The soda fountain is incredibly moldy, the list goes on. Moving onto the staff, you think you’re getting great service. But, once the waiter goes into another room they can’t stop talking about how “annoying,” their, “stupid,” customers are and saying how they’d better leave a good tip for all they’ve done. I would never set foot in this place again.

We passed by Koto on Tuesday afternoon. We were visiting from Florida for Memorial Day, it was our fist time there, so we did know what to expect. The gentleman that served us was really friendly, polite, and patiently explaining to us what they serve and gave us some great sushi and hibachi recommendations. We had some rolls from our servers recommendations and also their hibachi too. Both of their sushi and hibachi were awesome, and the service was great too. Overall, we were very delighted with our dining experience there, and will definitely go back and hopefully can be served by the same gentleman that served us that day.

We went for the Hibachi on a Tuesday night. The place wasnt busy so we got sat right away. We have eaten hibachi quite a bit so I can say that their show wasnt all that fantastic but the food was really good. Everything was well seasoned and the portions were big enough that we had some to take home. Dont be discouraged by the outside of the building, the inside is much nicer. The bathrooms though.... Weird. They have frosted glass walls. So if you are uncomfortable with someone seeing your shadow while you go maybe this isnt the right bathroom for you.

We came here for my birthday dinner. We got four and a half sushi rolls, a beer, and a coke. It cost $71, which is fine for a nice restaurant, but this was not a nice restaurant. It took an extremely long time to get four and a half sushi rolls. We watched them bring out sushi to the couple who arived and ordered after us. We had our sushi which was ok, but after we finished our meal my wife was thoroughly disgusted when she found an ant crawling ON the table. Its too bad that this place comes so highly recommended in the Groton area.

Terrible service. Hibachi chef was rude, barely said a word to us and was slamming everything around unnecessarily. When I complained I was told that the chef was sick... Sick? Why the hell is he cooking my food if hes sick? Waitress obviously gave zero cares about my complaint. Im totally disgusted and will never return to this place. Shouldve read the reviews prior to coming. I hope my review of this awful place saves you from a terrible experience. Would give zero stars if I was able.

This is the approximate half way point between my home and my family in RI. We rarely if ever have Japanese food, but once a year we MUST come here. The Hibachi tables are so fun, both for us and the kids. Food is always delicious and performers/chefs are funny, kind and always energetic. (Nothing ruins a show more than unhappy cooks) The best part... its all fairly healthy. I feel no guilt after a huge meal on my car ride home.

I have always loved their food until me and my wife ordered a pick up on Christmas day. If they know their food is going to taste like a dog food they should have never opened that day. I ordered Singapore noodles and the chicken was sooo dry that I had to throw everything after one bite. Suggestion to the owner, dont open you restaurant when you know what kind of food you are serving to your customers. Very disappointing.

I took my 7 year old granddaughter for dinner here We had asked for a hibachi table. We where seated next to a very loud bridesmaid party. There was also a group of African American people at the table, which was not a problem. We asked to be seated in a more quit area. When received our bill printed on it was a disgusting political statement, which I will not mention here. I will never visit this restaurant again.

If you have no idea what Japanese food is or should be you will love this establishment. However for those of us who do know what good Japanese food is STAY AWAY!!! The food was a mix of Thai and Chinese and the sushi was deplorable, and it has a terrible taste. My waitress was amazing, however while paying attention to the other waitresses they had the worst attitudes known to man. All in all this place sucks!

First off, I am a 20 year Navy Veteran. I spent 2 years in Japan so I think I have a good idea of what Japanese food is supposed to be like. The hibachi type cooking was originally for the wealthy. It was prepared in front of the royalty so no poison could be "added" The food and service here is EXCELLENT. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is personal. NO ONE THERE SPOKE JAPANESE! Call me a traditionalist!

Food was good but apparently the bartender was in a rush to leave. First she tried to move us to a table. Then she rushed us to order. She was cleaning her bar while we waited for our food, when it arrived she served my friends plate to him with a broom in her other hand. If they have a problem with guest showing up at 8:15 on a friday night perhaps they should change there hours of operation.

I had the Habatchi combo chicken and steak and the noodles. It was delicious and the portion size was huge, I even had leftovers. My group got dessert to share, both bumbas are to die for! Ones a peanut butter chocolate and the others a fruit sorbet assorment with white chocolate. Both a great finish for any meal. Great service and great presentation cooking!
