I used to eat at Senor Salsa almost daily for about 3 years (including under its old name La Salsa) until recently. My friend and I got severe food poisoning after eating there (we both had chicken). I was the first time Ive ever gotten sick from food. It was so severe my friend had to be hospitalized. We also met other people who had food poisoning after eating the chicken during the same week. The food tastes excellent and the ingredients are superb however if you watch behind the counter, the food is not stored properly. My friends and I havent gone back since. Ive noticed that the parking spots arent packed like they used to be, I feel other religious fanatics of Senor Salsa have been dissuaded by food poisoning. I promise you will enjoy the food like I did; however if you get food poisoning once from there you will vow to never make the same mistake again as you worship the porcelain god.

I have been going to this place in its many iterations for close to 15 years but today the quality of the food and its preparation appears to have dropped off a cliff. The first warning sign should have been when I observed the turkey sized chickens being grilled (sometimes bigger is not better). The meat was unusually tough and tasteless I hate to imagine what makes these chickens so abnormally large but it does not make for good meat. Rubbery is best I can describe. The salsa and other fixings seem to also be suffering as nothing has the flavor or zest of past visits. It seems the change of ownership here has gone one too many hands. I hate to waist food but this has all gone in the bin. Very, very disappointing when an old favorite becomes stale.

Food is fantastic but the manager is useless! Ive been going here since it was La Salsa and never had a bad experience - but last night was very busy and the entire team was working tirelessly. The manager stood in the corner texting and eating. The salsa bar was completely empty... when we politely asked him if there was some more in the back he didnt even look up from his phone while shaking his head no. Celeste should be the manager! She was taking orders, helping expedite, refilling the salsa bar and cleaning up - she was doing the job of 3 people! When we asked her if there was some more salsa there magically was more in the back. It was frustrating to watch the staff work so hard under the direction of someone so lazy and useless.

I wish I owned this place. I could eat here every day. Tasty quality food, prepared fast. My only complaint is adding hot sauce afterwards means opening up the burrito which is messy. I will agree with the other fellow that sometimes Ive gotten meat that was a bit dry. They beat out Chipoltes in everything except parking. The parking is overflowing, but turns over fast. Some people park on hard packed dirt created at the edge of the lot. I parallel park on the street on the south side facing east, which is where the post road lanes are very wide so there is actually room for slant parking there if the town would agree. Those spots are always open.

I decided to stop in on July 26th, and ordered a caesar salad and a fountain drink. I went to go get my drink and found specks of something black in my ice, but decided not to say anything about it. I was eating my salad in the car and a MAGGOT CRAWLED OUT OF IT. I returned later to talk to the manager and he offered me my money back after telling me that it was from the lettuce when it clearly wasnt unless the rest of the lettuce in their bin was rotted. Their service is nice but this is a clear health concern.

Went to get take out - cost over $27.00 for two meals (got some extra guacamole and chips) - got home and only had 1 meal! After trying to get through and a couple of disconnects - told to come back to get second meal. By that time dinner was ruined. Worst part was the one meal that was shared was a Caesar salad made with "ice burg lettuce" - asked for Caesar dressing on side and as usual received chili lime which is so sweet it was unbearable and "ruined" my salad. I will never go back.

I like the food. But the quality has gone down a lot. The steak used to be so mouthwatering, now it tastes completely different. Also the rice and beans used to be so fresh and delicious, now it looks over heated and old. I mean dont get me wrong, I still like the food, but I dont eat what I used to like anymore. Also every time I go, the chips are stale. Dont let it go down please!!!!

Have heard alot of hype about this place, but on my first visit it did not live up to it. The burrito was sloppy and not rolled tightly. The meat was rather dry. Also, not a fan of public salsa bars as customers can contaminate it fairly easily. Would rather have employees portion out salsa with gloves on. The side of chips was 4 or 5 of them, quite skimpy.

The parking lot used to be overflowing everyday, now not so much. I am a physician at the local hospital and have had a few patients claim they picked up a GI bug from La Salsa. Its really tough to say thats definitely where it came from. If you do get sick after eating in any restaurant you need to contact the manager to let them know.

When ordering over the phone for takeout the woman was very disrespectful, talking over me when trying to describe my order. When we got home, after confirming the order was wrong in the restaurant, we found that there were items missing from our order that we paid for. Would definitely not recommend this location.

Pretty good fresh Tex Mex joint. Food itself rates about 3.5 stars, fresh salsa and condiments bar pushes it up to 4 stars. Parking can be an issue during peak times, so park on the shoulder of Post Rd or next door at the donut shop after they close at 5pm.

Always perfect. This place has the. Ore authentic Mexican food around. No frills. Nothing fancy, but the food is always fantastic. My wife and I moved to CT from Queens and find the ethic food in CT to be lacking, but this place is our favorite.

They consistently have delicious food and the salsa bar is fantastic. Can get pretty busy at times but the service never seems to take much of an impact. Triple pepper burrito is one of my favs. Taquitos are great as well.

My favorite place for tacos and burritos anywhere around here. Extremely reasonable prices, and really fast service even when they are busy. The fresh salsa bar is cool, too. The only downside is the small parking lot.

Since becoming Senor Salsa I feel the food is not the same quality. The last two times I had a steak quesadilla the meat was chewy and not as tender as it was in the past. Perhaps new ownership?

The food is fresh and there is a great variety to choose from. The steak/chicken/shrimp have all been cooked well, not chewy or bland. Anytime im in the mood for Mexican food, this is where I go.
