Firehouse used to be good some 20 years ago, but now theyre just a total rip off. $9 for a sandwich that was almost out weighed by the bag it came in. No chips, no beverage - nothing, just a tiny sandwich on a hard roll with very little in it. Ate it in a disappointing 3 minutes. $9 F@*)ing dollars!! Who are they kidding? They might think they are that good because Fairfield is in the land of the uber wealthy but I got news for you - a peanut butter and jelly sandwich from home would have been equally as good, maybe better and not cost me a fortune. I even said to the counter girl that it doesnt look like a $9 sandwich, all she said was "oh it will taste like one" - NOT! I also heard they bought up the Spring Vally deli in Stratford and same story. Used to be good but now its a rip off. Dont waste your money on these bozos, go to subway - it may be a "fast food sandwich shop" but at least you feel like you ate something afterwards for your money. What a joke.

Ive been to Firehouse deli three times for lunch and I can honestly say each visit was a treat! Im vegan, so I dont eat meat, eggs, or dairy. I usually avoid delis because they typically arent very vegan friendly, but I went here with a friend and was pleasantly surprised! They have a great fresh salad bar, lots of snacks and vegetarian options. An employee there, I forget his name, noticed my intense examination of the menu, and asked if I had any allergies. I told him about my diet and he promptly wrote down a suggestion for a wrap. I decided to go for it, and it was DELICIOUS! The fries are amazing, the staff is super friendly and professional, and they have a great beverage selection. It can get really busy around lunch so come early or late if you want to grab a table. Also, the pickles are free! Enjoy!

I have lived in Fairfield for over 20 years, and even though I have worked at Borders for 2 years I never ventured into the firehouse deli. I finally got the urge to try it a few weeks ago. It is a fairfield staple. I had high expectations going in, and I would say overall they were met. Food was good, seats in back were acceptable, and prices were about the going rate. Would I go back? Probably. I am dying too....no.

I dont understand why this deli has such a high rating (4.0) because I wasnt all that impressed by the redgate sandwich I had. It seemed to be made with low quality ingredients, with flimsy bread, tasteless cheese, and fatty mayo. I was expecting something much much better for the kind of money I spent. The place looks amazing and has great vibe, but the food is not up to par.

So if you want a simple sandwich, like Boars head cold cuts on a roll, then this is your place. Pretty basic sandwiches though so I dont get the appeal. I would like to see some better specials. I think part of the attraction is the outdoor seating and proximity to the park.

Fun little place looking out to the park. There is a large gazebo in the park, great for a large group of 8 - 12. Liked the 1980s themed firehouse theme, clearly in the name but, its nice! -julian
