I DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING AT KOO IN DANBURY. Tonight I wanted to take my son and his friend to Hibachi at Koo. When we arrived in the restaurant there was a young couple arguing at the hibachi table. The guy was clearing threatening the girl, screaming at her and belittling her in the restaurant in front of staff and customers. The man proceeded to put his hands on the girl and threw her down on the chair. Yet management DID NOTHING! We felt so uncomfortable and unsafe that we had to leave the restaurant. I just want to say how uncomfortable we all were. My sons birthday celebration would have been destroyed if we hadnt left. I told the waitress that if she didnt do something to control this situation, we were going to leave. The staff at Koo did NOTHING TO STOP THIS BEHAVIOR. They didnt ask the customers to quiet down nor did they ask them to leave. They should have called the police on the guy and removed from the restaurant. Instead, the entire bar heard the couple arguing and we had to leave. Shame on the staff and management at Koo. You clearly need to assert good practices and better management skills for the safety of your customers. Because of this, our meal was enjoyed in a pleasant restaurant eating Hibachi at another Asian restaurant that would never allow such behavior. Shame on you!!!

Environment was dirty, smelly, dark, extremely cold. We were surrounded by drunk people. Although we were at hibachi diner, we could not hear each other. Mens bathroom was so horrible. I think they have not cleaned and maintained it for a while. Waiter could not speak one complete English sentence. it took me ten min to explain what Boston Lager beer is (nice), and at the end he took my beer to another table (bingo). When it comes to ordering, between two of us we asked for three meats and one side, he looked at and told us " its too much food for two". We TRIED to order but eventually he refused to write it down (unique). I kept the best for the last. The chef, basically, did not know any trick, but he was full of toilet, lame jokes. If it was not because of my friend, and other families, I would have taught him a lesson not to forget. Guys if you are dating, or if this is your first night out, or if you are with family, please do not go there. They have no clue how to speak with a lady. Probably you will find yourself fighting with them, or leaving the restaurant wondering " what the hell I was thinking?"

I have to say I was immensely disappointed at the level of service. Which is a shame because its so close to where I live and the food was actually pretty decent. I asked for a chef special roll, it came with spicy mayo and brown sauce on it, I have a gluten allergy and no where on the menu did it say anything about a sauce, when it came, I told the server I couldnt eat it and her words to me "Why did you tell me? What?? If its not stated on the menu, how would I know...she also told me that all Chefs Specials have sauce...she and the Sushi Chef went around and around..which I should not have had to hear and I waited quite a while for my new roll to come out...BTW, we were the only ones in the restaurant at 5 p.m. on a Tuesday...the server told me "Next time youll remember..."...I called the next day and spoke to the manager who argued with me and my point to her was to just put it on the menu listed with sauces...Bad communication and rude attitudes!!!!

Ordered delivery. Got sushi, tapas, and a couple of hot plates. The food was very bland and didnt have much taste which I hope is not always the case. Given it was delivery sushi, I cant speak to the quality but it was obviously delivery and was a bit dry when it got us. Not much wasabi was served and what was served was a horseradish alternative. No soy sauce was delivered which was really annoying so I had to opt for a the cheap soy packets that were lying at the bottom of the bag. There was also no utensils for any of the food we ordered. Eating your sushi with chopsticks is part of the experience which they did not deliver on... I would not recommend this restaurant nor would I eat here again. I recommend the japanese spot in the danbury mall, which also delivers and is of better quality although they have almost the exact same menu and prices.

6 of us ate here on Saturday afternoon. A bunch of us read the bad reviews on here and talked about it. We were the first ones and all i could remember was Tortilla Flats, the original place. Koo is very nice and the sushi bar room had great decor, great comfy seats and this really cool, really large lamppost that was oblong. We had the lunch menu which was very good and great selections. $6.99 is a great price for what we all had; i chose the salmon with sauce, brown rice and veggies and it comes with miso soup. my friends asked for a dessert with a candle in it for my birthday and they came with 2 pieces of lychee (fruit custard) with whipped cream and it was amazing! they said it was a new dessert and we were the first to try it. Great place overall.

I went with a group of friends for New Years Eve dinner. We were a large group of 20 people, and had made a reservation for 8PM. We waited for almost an hour to be seated, while other reservations were seated. They did NOTHING to make us want to stay or apologize to us for why it took so long. I used to work at a restaurant, and I understand that NYE is one of the busiest days of the year. But we were also told that any reservation of 10 or more is the priority, and you do everything your power to make that group happy. The only thing we got is ushered into their party room to get us out the the way. I will never be a patron at this restaurant ever again. You have lost my business.

My 24 year old son and his friend went there on September 24, 2016 and was treated very badly. As soon as they walked in the staff assumed they were there for takeout and when they were told they were there for dinner the staffs attitude changed immediately. They were asked just as they sat down if they had a coupon and when my son said they would give it to them after dinner they insisted on seeing it then. The food was mediocre and when they were handed the bill the waitress stood over my son making sure he left a tip and even telling him what he should leave. My son and friend will not go back there and I have also spread the word to my friends.

The waitresses seemed very rushed (it was Saturday night) and gave us little to no time other than rushing us to order and promptly appearing to give us the check. Our water glasses went unfilled the entire meal and were emptied soon after our food arrived so we went the better half of our time with empty glasses. When the check arrived an 18% gratuity was already added without our knowledge or consent (party of 2 btw). Im not against tipping but I tip according to the service...or lack there of. Other than the service the food was excellent and came in a reasonable amount of time. The only people seemingly unorganized are the wait staff...
