Something has changed in this place. I have had wings from here before and they were pretty good but we ordered wings and chicken fingers to go and the whole experience was horrible. The girl that took the order over the phone acted like she didnt know what I was talking about and she was rude. I said I wanted the sauce on my wings because in the past they have asked if I wanted the sauce on the side. I am from upstate NY where wings came from and no one asks if you want the sauce on the side FYI. Anyway, she asked what I meant and I said I want the wings mixed with the sauce and she said, again, I dont understand, then I said I want the sauce on top of my wings not on the side, she replied we never serve the sauce on the side but then asked if my and my boyfriends order wanted sauce on the side. Seriously?? We picked up our order and my boyfriend said can we have blue cheese and celery and the woman said "we always give blue cheese and celery". In the past they ask "do you want blue cheese or ranch and do you want celery". When we got home we had three small pieces of celery and ranch dressing. Not blue cheese. The worst part were the wings. They were huge. Like the chicken was on steroids. That is such a turn off. The drumstick part was as big as a chicken leg and the flats were just too big. They were breaded and slimy. I couldnt even hold them without them slipping out of my fingers. It was gross. I have had wings and they are normal size, not battered or breaded, and they are crispy even with the sauce on them. I have made them myself and it is just chicken wings, fried, crispy and coated with the sauce. Simple. These were awful. Also you guys should have kept coke products. Change isnt always a good thing.

I LOVE this place! Crave their chicken! Crispy, broasted chicken. Ive lived in Durango 30 years, but just discovered this restaurant when my son visited us in April. I sat next to the owner once when I was waiting for my "to-go" order. I think its a husband and wife establishment that has been in business for at least 16 or 17 years (maybe more)! After having met the owner, I would say that anyone with negative feedback should let the owner know. He seemed sincere that he wants to provide the best for his customers. Without realizing the accomplishment, I watched my youngest son (after a challenge) eat a dozen wings with the most miserable hot sauce Ive ever encountered! A year later, when my oldest son was here, I tried a teeny bit of that HOT BBQ sauce- and had the most memorable (miserable) burn! (Dont know how he did it!!) I dont recommend that, but the chicken is great!

I am pretty sure these guys have new management because i have always been satisfied with this place until now. Went in and waited almost 2 hours for some boneless wings and a salad. Granted they got busy, but there was almost no one in there when we arrived and we waited 30 minutes to get our order taken and we were ready to order right away (we knew exactly what we wanted when we arrived, no wait was necessary). About 15 minutes after we arrived two big tables came in and their orders taken way before ours, their food was also out about 45 minutes before ours. Not to just hate on the terrible wait staff but their was also hair in both the chicken and salad. Thought it could possible be a fluke so I went back again more recently and pretty much the same story. This used to be a Durango institution and now it is just a blemish on the towns (usually good) food scene.

Being a local I have eaten at Cuckoos several times. The wings are good, but Ill never go back. Service has always been slow, but on my last visit my wife and I waited two hours (in a mostly empty restaurant right after opening), we were told time and time again "just another minute" finally, fed up and angry we complained to waitress and were told "the kitchen is out the buns for the Chicken Sandwhich and were waiting for a delivery." If this were true- and I doubt it was- why didnt they tell us that two hours before. When we complained to the manager he said "what do you want." When I told him we were leaving he informed us we owed for our iced tea- which is some of the worst iced tea Ive ever had. After two hours of waiting they couldnt even comp the iced tea. They dont deserve my business.

The food is phenomenal. Absolutely delicious. But Im a local and Ive been there many times and the service is absolutely horrible. I went last night and I was with three other people. We waited for an HOUR for our food. Our waitress rarely visited us and we saw her chatting more than working. After about 40 minutes we saw wings sitting in the back and kept checking to see if theyd pick them up but our waitress never even glanced. We finally got a different waitresss attention and she brought it out to us instead. Very very unimpressed with the service. Incredibly frustrating and rude but the food is awesome so theres the up.

The service was very slow we had to go up to the bar just to get a menu and by the time the server came around we already knew everything we wanted. I am a local and I must say I hesitate to go here because of the slow service!! It also took 40 minutes just to get our food!!! The atmosphere was a sports bar feel and crowded. I must say though their selection of food is awesome and the quaility of food is great!! I love the asian persuasion wings and their sandwiches. Go for the food or get it to go!! Good place for food bad place if you are trying to hurry v.v trust me it is better to order out then dine in

TERRIBLE! This place was just downright horrible. The service was crap, we waited at least 45 minutes if not an hour to get our food and when it finally came it was trash. My two friends order fish and chips and the one fish filet that came with the meal was way overcooked. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and it was as well terrible. Our waitress was cussing out one of the customers at the bar and just being all around rude. If I could I would give this place a negative 1 star it was that bad. Do not recommend to anyone who likes to have a decent meal.

The food here is great... but people are terrible. I absolutely love the wings here but they really make it hard to get them. Ive eaten here many times and each time the service dissapoints me more and more. The employees are always rude and seem uninterested. Today I went to get wings and after waiting 20 min for my order to get taken I just left. Ive had enough of it and hopefully some one will see this and fix their employees. Ive worked in food before and its not hard to be nice let alone take someones order.
