I have done business with Kaladi for years, but wont be after the last couple of times that I have been there. I buy green beans and roast them myself, have for years. So, when I order a type of beans from the limited menu of beans they have, I have a good idea what I SHOULD be getting. The difference between size ,shape, color, and aroma from region to region are as varied as wines are. So, needless to say, when I get home and find a bag of random beans that is everything from the bottom of a barrel that they scraped together and stuffed into a bag thinking I wouldnt be aware enough to notice the difference between the color, size and shape of the beans, they were WRONG. I ordered 2 different kinds/ regions of coffee but, both 2 pound bags were exactly the same. I can only imagine what they sell the REST of the people that come in there and ask for anything specific. Then there is the attitude of the CSR when asked about the "free" coffee drink when you buy a pound.... I bought 4 pounds of green beans (they didnt even have to roast them) and they wanted to charge me for the "free" coffee. All in all, a disappointing trend from a place that has , in the past, been somewhere I would (and have) recommended. I will recommend other places from now on, ones that give what you order, and honor their own deals. As for Kaladi Bros., be aware that they arent opposed to giving you whatever they want despite what you order.

The first time walking in to Kaladis Coffee Shop was immediately overwhelming. Perhaps because this dainty shop makes for a crowded space even if a few people are in line, and its proximity to Denver University seem to makes it a happening spot complete with awesome people spotting. The barista with a beard that would make Zeus proud, suggest their namesake Kaladi Latte. The ingredients are a secret but I am guaranteed I’ll like it– a little shop with a lot of confidence! I spring for a raspberry tart too. My latte arrives with a dainty, foamy flower floating atop; a work of art in a cup of coffee, and sitting next to my tart I think I am about to experience a little nirvana. One sip later and I am in love. I can’t quite put my finger on the flavor but it reminds me of condensed milk - thickly textured with a mild sweetness. The espresso they proudly roast in house is well-balanced; medium bodied, and slightly nutty (or was that some secret ingredient?), a flavor I think most coffee drinkers would agree is quite delightful. I move to the tart laden with fresh berries and strips of crust; which I come to discover are as flaky and doughy as the foundation they sit on. Definitely nirvana. It becomes quickly apparent that this recipe is well refined, and on that matter, the shop is too. Interesting people watching, fantastic coffee and treats – yup, I’ll definitely be back!

Sorry, but visited this place for the first time recently and just wasnt very impressed. I had higher hopes based on all the positive reviews. First question: Id like your best cup of black coffee. Do you do pour-overs? "No". She offered pre-brewed coffee. Tried it, it was not terrible, just not great. A slight burnt taste. Some Peruvian blend I think it was. Off to a bad start. Next question: How often do you roast beans? "About 3 times per week, but we freeze them, so theyre always going to be fresh. If you freeze them, they stay fresh for, like, 10 years!". Bad answer. Checked out their bean prices. Not the highest in town, but still overpriced for non roast-to-order beans. One plus: 10-12 oz cup of pre-brewed coffee was reasonably priced. I just wish I could have gotten a fresh ground, fresh brewed coffee, ideally a pour-over or immersion brew. If another type fresh grind/brew was available, it wasnt offered to me. I may give them another chance sometime, but there are other places I need to try first.

My girlfriend purchased a home coffee roaster for me. I took the roaster into Kaladi Brothers and asked which green coffee beans would work the best. Andy and Mark went the extra mile and then some. They set up my machine ( not even purchased there ) ran a batch through, and gave me a 40 minute live demonstration and education on what to look for in the green bean and the finished product. These guys are passionate, professional and precise in their knowledge of coffee. This shop is owned by and staffed with, service champions. Kaladi Brothers is everything a coffee shop should be.

I would like to say that they do have good coffee, but I pre orderd the Hawayian coffee which is like $26 per a pound and they told me it would take no longer than 4 weeks and it is now 6 weeks. When I called just now they told me it would be another 5 weeks or so because they are going to move in the next couple of weeks. Then to top it off when I asked for a refund knowone knew how to do it over the phone, so now I have to go down there for know reason. Thanks Kaladis.

Was driving down I25 when I realized I needed to buy coffee beans for my new Gaggia Classic, luckily I was very close to Kaladi which had an amazing rating. Well needless to say Im so glad I stopped at Kaladi, I came and got a Honduras medium roast coffee bean and decided to get a small cappuccino as well. Which was by far and away the best cappuccino Ive ever had! The air roasted coffee beans were extraordinary as well. So glad to have found this amazing place!

Without a doubt the best in the vicinity, though there are some respectable competitors (e.g., Stella & Five Leaves). Do yourself a favor, skip the Starbucks that are peppered around DU and go to a real, locally-owned coffee shop. The DU area needs more businesses like Kaladi if it ever wants to provide a decent "campus" experience. Without businesses like Kaladi, Jerusalem, etc., DU would basically be served by strip mall garbage.

Down here for school, and I couldnt find a place that served good coffee. Found out from a friend that there was a Kaladis in Denver. Though not really part of the Kaladi Brothers Coffee from back home in Alaska, it was started by one of the same original owners. Boy I wasnt disappointed! Finally a place with great coffee and a great atmosphere! It so reminded me of home! This is the only coffee shop I go to in all of Denver!

The coffee is the best in Colorado. These guys are serious about their espresso. If they were drug dealers youd say they did too much of their own product. The espresso machines have custom upgrades to ensure the most perfect and consistent espressos. Theyll even build you your own espresso bar in your house. They roast their own coffee perfectly and have an incredible selection.

This is such a great cafe! Solid drinks, wifi, treats, atmosphere. My favorite part by far is the cute, short-haired barista who suggested a drink for me, and then gave it to me for free because I was a first-time customer! Now Im not saying they give away free drinks, but I am saying that their staff seems real genuine, which is a treat in this age of snooty coffee culture.
