Oh boy. Brunch. Despite it being a gorgeous and lovely Sunday, the place wasnt very crowded. Im going to assume thats not always the case because the restaurant is located right in the middle of the hopping Tennyson Row area which is always packed. I loved the decor & the overall feel of the restaurant. Wide open windows in the front, a cute little charcuterie display in the back & plenty of room. We ate at the bar and imbibed in the bottomless mimosas (to the chagrin of our somewhat withdrawn bartender). Speaking of the bartender, he was very sweet and took good care of us but I always think a shy or quiet bartender is a little offputting. You gotta play the part - just saying. No judgement but.. just saying. Food - here we go - OMFG so good CAULIFLOWER GRATIN 10 - Pecorino, Bread Crumbs, Pomegranate Super DOOPER tasty - wonderful flavor and would have made for great leftovers had our friend not showed up and mowed them down. Bison Short Rib Benedict - 12 GREAT price for such a filling meal. The short ribs were TDF-tooDieFoh and so tasty along with the carmelized onion fondue.

Whats the appeal here??? We ordered the bread, but it was stale and almost tasted like it had been frozen before. The mac & cheese was highly recommended and was pretty good, but it comes with a swish of barbecue sauce thats brown in color and is very unappetizing looking. We ordered the fried chicken with steak fries and were disappointed. The steak fries were just potato wedges fried with nothing special about them. And there were only four of them and the fried chicken was disappointing with hardly any flavor. The crust was nice and crunchy and has a good flavor but overall the chicken was a big disappointment also. We ordered one of our beverages it was never brought. Eh. Not worth the money.

This was a pretty good place for dinner. Its in a really cutesy neighborhood as well. We had to park a little ways down by the park but walking to the resto was still cool. The staff is very friendly and the food is very savory. Go if you have an appetite because they have plenty of meats for you to choose from. We sat by the window and it was open and airy. People actually came by and was asking us how the food was and we raved about how good it was. Its a very cozy place and heavily wooded tables and chairs, so it does kind of give you that butcher shop feel. But with a hint of classiness. If I ever came back to Denver Id definitely eat there again.

After finishing dinner on Tennyson a few months back, we happened upon Block & Larder and decided to stop in for an after dinner cocktail. The ambiance and over all vibe is really cool and the large open glass panes allowed us to enjoy the beautiful night air, while relaxing at the bar. They were featuring specialty cocktails inspired by the Olympics being held in Rio. I don’t recall what the drink I had was called (something with mango) but it was DELICIOUS! The bartender was very attentive and friendly. Out of curiosity we browsed over a dinner menu and the menu looks divine! We cannot wait to return to enjoy a dinner here!

My husband and I stopped in randomly after a day of being out and about, we were greeted right when we walked in and sat almost immediately. The staff was very friendly and prompt. I had the filet (which I am super picky about my steaks) and this was one of the best I have had! It was juicy and cooked to perfection! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and overall the experience was great! Definitely a place we will return too and bring our friends, family and clients! A must try in the Denver area!

Everything at Block and Larder was quality and the staff was super friendly and attentive. Our favorite part was probably the cocktails. They have a rotating list thats themed off of a movie. I couldnt give them a five star because the food was a little bland and underseasoned. I really liked the concepts behind all of the dishes, but the flavor didnt quite live up to the descriptions on the menu. Overall it was a great place for dinner and Ill probably be back soon.

This place has a great atmosphere, wonderful appetizers and sides. But as for the steak it was mediocre at best. I got the twin filets ordered them medium rare. They were over done and dry, sent one back and what I received was cooked right but still dry. Im always on the lookout for another good steakhouse and will go way out of my way for a great steak but the one left a bad taste in my mouth. You can get a better steak at Safeway.

I was in a hurry on my way home from work. Stopped in for something to take home for dinner. Ordered 2 oyster poboys. Now I have tried a few restaurants in the area and we have been delighted and pleasantly surprised. Well our winning streak ended here. They were so bad after our first bite (only bite) the sandwiches were discarded. I mean they were so bad we tried to feed them to emmy (pet canine) She peed on them

Ive been here twice and had a great experience both times. The first time I had the pork chop which was absolutely amazing and the second the hanger steak- also amazing. It has a great atmosphere and service has always been excellent. My husband and I love charcuterie boards so this place is definitely one of our new go tos for entertaining out of town company or nice dinner date together. Highly recommend.

Went to check out Tennyson Street and stopped here for a beer. Couldnt resist ordering the charcuterie board. Tons of unique meats, cheeses, pickled vegetables and an amazing loaf of fresh baked bread. The bartenders were really passionate about their craft and the tap and bottle selections were full of great Colorado beers. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, will definitely be back.

This was based on one experience. 1 shared main, and two apps. Bellied up to the bar. Service was good, but food and drink were underwhelming. The Sangria cocktail that was touted was very expensive, but might as well have been watered down Carlo Rossi with zest of orange! For a similar vibe, with food and drink that consistently deliver, head to Brazen.

Food and atmosphere were incredible. There is an off menu desert that is actually a huge homemade doughnut that we still rave about! There were four of us and it was big enough that we all got to eat on it and it was ridiculous good! We will be going to eat every time we visit.

We went here on a Thursday and they had a date night special - $25 for a cheese and olive plate and a carafe of house wine. It was fantastic!! We added the truffle fried, asparagus, and bacon flight and had more than enough food for the three of us! Everything was delicious!

This place has probably the most diverse meat selection that Ive come across in Denver and they do not disappoint! Excellent steak, awesome charcuterie platter and the owners are great! I highly recommend Block and Larder for anyone who likes the butcher style restaurants.

I have a love/hate relationship with Block and Larder. On one hand it has been some of the best meals that I have ever had. On the other sometimes both the service and the food are lackluster. One that is always great though is the beer and cocktail selection.
