We were here on 11/5/16. Waited for almost 20 minutes for our order to be taken, they were not busy. The worst service and the $16.99 special was cold to the touch. How could you serve a 1/2 chicken taken from the refrigerator place it on the plate and serve it cold. Waitress stared us down the entire meal, never came and offered anything, never asked how the meal was. HAD to flag her to tell her that the food was cold. After we left, called and asked to speak to the owner, same waitress wanted to know why I wanted to speak to the owner/manager so that she could tell him then said that he had stepped out. I called today and complained, told the manager Samantha the horrible food and service we received and told her that we will go back to the Jerusalem restaurants in Manitou Springs where we are treated right and where they know our name. We wont be back. The $16.99 special came home and it was served to the dogs. HORRIBLE Service....

Went here on 03/06/2017. I found this place on google and decided to give it a try. I went in at 12:15 the beginning of the lunch hour and when I walked in I was immediately unsure if I wanted to eat there. When I walked in four tables were dirty with half eaten plates. There were even dirty plates next to a tub of rolled silverware where it seemed they were still rolling more. The weirdest part: I was in there for four to five minutes waiting for someone to greet me or even just show that someone was there, never happened. I stood inside this place for five minutes completely alone with dirty plates all over, so I left. And wont return. Downtown is a popular spot and filled with delicious local spots, should probably make sure your restaurant is clean and ready for the lunch hour instead of seeming like some ghostly apocalypse..

They wouldnt let us take our order to go using our coupon from groupon. We were told it said on the website that we cant take it to go, and after checking the website, the physical papers rules and fine print, and the confirmation email, it said absolutely nothing of the sort. Horrible customer service. Ill keep my business with Heart of Jerusalem. Update: the food wasnt very good at all either. Id definitely rather keep my business with Heart of Jerusalem, where theres actually flavor in the saffron rice and amazing customer service. If an error is made, they make sure to go out of their way and give you something extra instead of argueing with the customer or making up stupid excuses. For a five star dining experience, I recommend Heart of Jerusalem over Taste of Jerusalem any day.

Called in an order around 5:30. When I picked it up, the cashier seemed nice enough - joking about having eaten my sandwich. She rung me up and I passed her my credit card. The machine malfunctioned. Without communicating with me, she began calling the manager/owner. After about a minute of them talking about the credit card machine, I offered to pay cash. The cashiers eyes lit up and she nodded her head "yes" excitedly. I held out the bills toward her for about 30 seconds while she continued to fiddle with the machine before my hand got tired and I set the bills on the counter. The shwarma was decent, but nothing special. I also had to remind them to give me the extra side I ordered. No napkins in the to go sack either.

The truth is this place is amazing. It has the perfect waiters or waitresses there. My favorite was the guy who worked there for about a month and then left, but it was because it was only a summer job. he made me feel like I was dining in the best restaurant. Which it is for people who like to dine for a good price. So he had not gotten fired. Anyway, the portions are actually big, unless you eat a lot!!!!!!! Their Gyros and fries costs amazing and Id say it sets for for the rest of the day. I actually was visiting from Michigan and Id be there a lot. Almost every day. The food is so good its hard not to come back! Also, Taste of Jerusalem IS BETTER than Heart of Jerusalem. SO GO SEE FOR YOURSELF

Great food! We really enjoyed our experience here! Food was delicious and the staff was helpful. The chicken kebab was juicy, delicious, and flavorful. The hummus was decent, Ive had better but it was definitely good. My husband really liked the hummus because it was very garlicky. My favorite part of the meal was the tabouleh, which is strange because I dont usually eat a lot of tabouleh at Mediterranean restaurants. But this tabouleh was so fresh, with pieces of green onion in it. We will definitely be going here again!

We did an online order and realized when we got back to our office that we were missing some of our order. When we called they were accommodating enough, but did seem put off by our complaint. Also, the food was sloppily put together (sandwich was torn in half and shoved in the wrapper). There were no utensils or napkins included with our to go order. Otherwise the food wasnt inedible, just could have had better service in general. Sadly, our office will not be going back to this restaurant for our lunch.

Its a little depressing that there was a family feud over the name, but youll notice the food is markedly similar to that of Heart of Jerusalem at Austin Bluffs and Barnes. That would be due to the fact that they were at one time the same entity. Anyway, the food is some of the best Mediteranean/Middle Eastern Cuisine Ive ever had and at totally reasonable prices. It looks like a hole in the wall take-out place, but believe me, you wont be disappointed.

When we arrived, a little after noon there was only one other table occupied, which was great, by the time we left, the place was packed, and that was not so great, mostly because there was only one server on the floor. It took forever just to pay the bill. Besides that, the beef shawarma was tasty, but the big, hard, chunks of lettuce, not so much. The Baklava had a burnt after taste and was rather small in size. Nice, but I probably wouldnt return.

I visited the Austin Bluffs location. I was not happy that they use stryrofoam cups for drinks and plastic plates and siverwear. The price of the food was enough that they could have real dishes and wash them. The food was good, but youd think they would have enough pride in their food to serve it on real plates. I wont go back not because of the food, but because of the lack of respect for the environment.

Owner is a douch bag! Food sucks! Employees have taken on the owners sense of egotism! I support local business but not when owners dont care about the community. Dont let the smiles fool you! Get your food elsewhere! If Jerusalem had this sense of hospitality it wouldnt be a holy place. Much better places for authentic Mediterranean food! Go to Pita Pit accross the street thumbs ☝

What a little jem of a place in downtown. The food was delicious, authentic, large portions and so reasonably priced. The waitress was so sweet and managed the whole place by herself. Its not the cutest looking places but if youre more interested in good food than the ambience its definitely a place to try. I will definitely go back there!
