Rick, the owner of the establishment, may not be a member of the Old Guard when it comes to brewing -- the location is less than 3 years old. But he brings some important aspects to his trade that make this a location worth visiting. (1) Unlike most microbreweries, this location offers food instead of just popcorn. And with a constantly evolving menu ranging from cod poboys to bavarian pretzels (both worth trying), the whole family will find something they like. (2) Reliable pricing and a locally-loved happy hour. Beer and food prices are very reasonable at around $5 a pint. However, The Blue Spruce has a great daily happy hour thatll drive beer prices even lower and justify your second helping of fried pickle chips. (3) Rick gives a damn. Pardon the french, but its to drive a point home. Rick is experimental with his brewing, and it shows in some unbelievable ways. From a Pecan Pie brown ale thatll make you question whether you may be an alcoholic, to a cream ale that makes you feel like youre right in an Irish tavern, Rick and his brew crew (there are now 3 brewers altogether), can brew up a mean batch of beer and make sure the quality is consistent. Remember, this is a new location. So the Blue Spruce is still figuring out what kind of a joint its going to be. Will it be a quiet spot with the occasional trivia night? Yes. Right now it offers that. Will it be a sports bar with TVs in every corner and announcers blaring overhead? Yes. Right now it offers that. Will it be a family-friendly location for the partners to libate and for Little jimmy to eat nachos? Yes. Right now it offers that. The difficult part for a new patron will be to figure out what kind of an environment theyre going to walk into. Luckily, its a big space with good beer. So the most important piece of the puzzle is that you make the decision to simply come.

Been here in the past and was never impressed by the beer. For a Denver metro brewery, they are well below par. I initially chalked it up to being new but went back about 6 months ago and it was the same. I recently returned to get a sticker for my Kegerator and try to see if there was any improvement. Sat down at a table and was ignored by the waitstaff. Walked up to the bar to order a beer and was told by the waitstaff that they would get my order and to go back to my table. Was still ignored. A man walked all the way from the back and for a second I was excited that I would actually get to order. He instead informed me that my child could not bring a popsicle into the establishment as my son finished his last bite. I completely understand that I cant bring outside food to a licensed establishment (forgot this place had a kitchen since most breweries can make it just fine off their beer). What I dont understand is how this place has the staff to have someone literally walk all the way from the back of the house to inform me of this but doesnt have the staff to take my order for a sub-par beer and a sticker. We ended up walking out not ordering anything. My fridge will look just fine without a Blue Spruce sticker and thank god there are so many amazing breweries within a 5 mile radius.

This place has great beer, although my growler experience was very subpar (and support expensive, growlers range from $16-$19???). After tasting various delicious beers with one of the brewers, (Brian, I think), I got a 64oz growler and a 32 growler of said delicious beer. The only thing, it was flat by the time I got home (after a 4mi drive). This was a shock with the 64oz, however somewhat expected with the 32oz. They didnt have any 32oz lids, so after pouring the beer into glass I brought from home, the tender poured it into a can to seal. Figured, "cool, its in a can, they never go flat". Wrong. It was definitely flat the next day. So after spending $28 on two growlers ($16 for 64oz, $10.5 for 32 oz) of good beer, I got to drink $28 worth of flat beer that same night. I know growlers arent the same as a tap pour, although I feel tenders should be trained to fill growlers effectively enough to last through one night.

Pretty bad beer. I sometimes expect below average beer when a brewery first opens due to having to adjust to a new system and just need to start selling product. Its hard to dump a batch considering the time and money that was spent on it. A revisit at least a year later did not provide a much better experience. Some beers were OK while others were just riddled with off flavors and close to undrinkable.

This place is just not good. I went in, was ignored at the bar until I finally gave up. Waited for a table, and it took 10 minutes for the server to appear at our table once we were seated. Our food was delivered with out plates or napkins, and we were forced to go find our own. The beer is not good, at best it taste like an average homebrew. There are far better choices in breweries in the area.

We used Blue Spruce Brewing for a holiday party and we loved it! We rented the Spruce Room and we were all very impressed with the level of service we received. Everyone was attentive, helpful and remembered our names. The food was tasty and the beers were some of the best Ive had. I would definitely recommend Blue Spruce, whether you need an event space or just want a great beer.

I have been to this place twice and its alright. If your needing to kill sometime then its still alright. I would not suggest making a special trip here. First reason both times I waited forever to get any service, secondly I ordered a rum barrel aged brown ale and it didnt taste anything like a "RUM BARREL-AGED" It had a tart finish and some other OFF flavors.

Good food, good beer, great atmosphere! I especially loved the house burger and the apricot beer. Its the best apricot beer Ive ever had. The service was a little slow at first, but that is understandable being a new brewery/restaurant. I assume it will be better over time. Thanks for a great experience!

Everything was very slow, took a long time to get beers, and an even longer time to get food. The service was all right but stretched thin with no assistance from management if there was any. The beer was solid and the food was ok when it arrived. Definitely will look around before coming back here

Standard bar food. Of the beers Ive tried, the Honey Kölsch and Belgian Golden Strong are top notch; absolutely delicious. No local distribution yet but once they have it, Ill definitely be regular customer. One of the few places thatll also serve a cup of coffee, which is also a huge plus for me.

Had the Pecan Pie Brown. Pretty decent beer. However, $6.50 for a 10 oz poor seems silly. It wasnt THAT good. They are jumping on the bandwagon of overpriced beer because people will pay it and dont know any better. Its A shame to see so many breweries jumping on this bandwagon.

The beers were good but Ive been there twice and both times theyve had live music. Forget about trying to have a conversation with someone while they are playing. They have got to turn the music down. Im all for live music if you can talk to the people you came with.
