Dear Chicken And Waffels Walnut Creek, Lastnight i was on my way from out of town(From Gilroy Ca) i tried to place a phone order late at nigbt 11:30 to be exact. I was told by a woman that she couldnt take orders passed 11:30 and that i was just seconds short of the dealing and that i was to order by walk in. I was fine with that but however upon my arrival there was a very long line and the Hostess and Cashier were being super rude to a few customers, which i was finding the tone of the workers to be quite offensive as the customers were asking simple questions. After waiting patiently for 20-30 minutes the rude hostess and cashier proceed to tell me(being Latina) and some asian and white prom couples that they were no longer taking orders for 30 minutes to an hour. We all were upset because they took all the black customers orders just fine but as soon as the non-blacks wanted to order they skipped us. And as soon as us non-blacks were about to leave we noticed there were a groups of black teens that just showed up and because the hostess and cashier knew who they were they let them oder thier food after telling others we either had to leave or wait aproxmently one hour before we could order. About 10 of us were pissed and felt that they were super racist and took favoritism over skin color. Never in my life have i felt to ashamed of my skin color or felt un-American while visiting a restaurant. I am only upset because my spouse and i have been giving these people weekly business since they opened shop and never have we felt so rejected based on race. There needs to be something done about customer service and a class on how to treat other ethnic backrounds. This was a huge disrespect given by you establishment. We will no longer enjoy coming to see you guys if this is always the case. As it only takes one time to hurt 10 customers to lose a hundred more.

I came here after an exhausting spinning class next door and was expecting a fat and delicious meal since this is a Southern establishment that usually warrants a full meal full of fried chicken, carb, sugar and sweet tea. The menu definitely seems like they have it all. If you want fried chicken, you got it. You need mac and cheese, they have it. If you are craving for southern pie, they got it on the menu too. I ordered the Derrick Deal and so did my mother-in-law while my father-in-law ordered the strawberry waffle. I think we waited for an age for our food to arrive. It almost feels like they were going to actually capture a chicken to get my fried chicken on the table! So, I got the leg with my order but instead I got the thigh. I didnt want to protest since I already waited long enough for it. Regardless, the thigh is actually tiny without much meat to it and it is on the drier side. They were really generous with my sides of candied yam, collard green and a nice size of corn bread though. The service is slow but they were nice staff. I think the kitchen just wasnt fast enough to turn around the food. Hope they staff up more and improve the quality of their fried chicken.

OH SO SWEET, OF ME
My family and I usually go to the location in Oakland (SMACKIN) but tonight I/we decided to give this location a try, seeing as how its much closer to home. What a BAD IDEA! *Server forgot to place the order for our appetizer of buffalo wings. Then when he put it in, the cook brought out 10-Full sized wings AFTER our meals were on the table! *Collard Greens tasted burnt and bland. *Syrup was a cinnamon spiced flavor, and the only other kind available was sugar free! *Candy yams tasted like they had been sitting in soupy water. *We all ordered chicken and NONE of it was cooked right! Fried chicken should never have gummy flour/batter in the folds of the chicken or skin. The server apologized for the food, and said that it was because the cook was new! Well the new cook needs A LOT more practice before he serves customers! And the next time the server needs to get blazed, he should WAIT until his work shift is over. Not everyone wants to smell all that while dining! This location had a long way to go! The Oakland location is where its at! 11/8/2016 @ 7:30p

I and my husband went out for a late night snack, that turn out to be a big snack. Yummy…! You see, we had a taste for some good southern chicken, but on the healthier side. We arrived at “The Home of Chicken and Waffles”, the cook greeted us at the door and gave us a warm welcome. The late evening was paired with “Shock Top” and “Angies Delight” (1 succulent breast, 1 delicious waffle, & grits). Our waitress “Myisha” made for a very pleasant experience. Thank you Myisha… for a relaxing evening! Oh yes… the music was great. LOL!

I went in to order a salad to go. The place was packed. I was in a hurry but doing my best not to be impatient. I thought it seemed like it was taking awhile to get my order, but it was confirmed when the servers each started coming over to me apologizing for the wait and offering me water and something to snack on. The order finally came and they were very nice still, and they gave me 2 coupons for free waffles for the delay! Looks like Im going back! The chicken on the salad was very tender by the way.

Pay before you eat? You show no respect to your patrons. I went with a group of 6 and was charged 18% gratuity, which we would have paid more if we received good service, then i was asked to pay before i got my food!? Is this fast food?? They dont even do this at Dennys...and their plates are about 50% cheaper... I like the atmosphere and theme here but treat people the right way and the money will take of itself...sad night having to deal with u guys. Felt sooo disrespected.

Its Monday and went there with co-workers at 11:45 am. It looks like we go up and place our order, however, theres a sign that says to wait to be seated. We place our order only to find theres no chicken strips even though its on the menu. Okay, its a popular item. So we order potato salad only to be told theyre out of that as well. What kind of restaurant offers items on the menu but cannot serve them for whatever reason??? Food was just okay.

I had never tried chicken and waffles before i came here with my boyfriend and once we tried it, we were hooked. We now come here every week/off every other week for their delicious food. And whats been impressive is if the legs r a little on the smaller side they give us extra ones for free. And the waffles r DELICIOUS. Its a great find and their always so quick to bring out ur food nice n hot : )

Absolutely terrible. Our chicken came out RAW. Went there late with a group of friends. As we cut into our chicken, it was literally bloody and raw, with only the outside barely cooked! I have never ever been to a place that serves RAW CHICKEN... Never ever again. Teach your cooks! Not to mention, our waitress didnt take it off our bill and did not say sorry or offer to bring anything else..
