I have been looking for authentic Chinese food for years and years, and Ive finally found it at Rose Garden!!! We went the first time about 2 months ago and the food was spectacular. I came again this evening, Linda our waitress remembered us (so sweet! We love Linda!) and the food was even better than I remember from the first trip! Amazing food, great service. The restaurant is fairly empty around dinner on a Friday, but it looks like they do a huge amount of pick-up orders. Im glad they keep busy, this food cant go away!!! Im not deducting any points for this, but I would love to see some upgrades in the building...the toilets are pretty old and the bathrooms could use a coat of paint, the tables and chairs are slightly dated, as well as the window decor. But I understand how difficult it can be to make these kinds of changes to your building. Thank you, Garden Rose, for being such a wonderful little hidden gem in an industrial area. Come to my neighborhood and pick up some Chinese next time youre in Union City. You will not regret it.

I do a lot of traveling across the states and have the pleasure of eating at all kinds of restaurants, I order take out from the Rose Garden in Union City, CA., a simple Kung Pao Chicken and Veggie fried rice, and for a restaurant that considers themselves as an Authentic Asian restaurant is far from it. It was the worse food Ive ever had. I took a few bits of each dish and it was bad, the flavor, and the mixture. It was a big waste of money; my 12 year old daughter cooks Asian food better than they do. Dont waste your time visiting this place, unless you like throwing away money.

Possibly my least favorite Chinese restaurant. These are the dishes we have tried: Mongolian beef (awful), fried shrimp appetizer (ok), sizzling chicken with black bean sauce (poor), fried rice (barely ok), chow mein (barely ok, flavorless without a lot of soy sauce, egg drop soup (ok). Strangely the dinner came with both fr rice and noodles. We tried this place a 2nd time in case our 1st experience was just a bad day. There wont be a 3rd visit. I dont know why people rave about the Mongolean beef. It had a sickly sweet sauce and an odd red color.

Excellent food and unheard of service. Im a long haul driver and I was making a delivery around the corner the morning. Pulled in 5 minutes before closing and the owner not only welcomed me to order in rather than to go, smiled and said we are both working people, come in and dont rush, you are fine. The food was excellent, but nothing was more incredible than his attitude and service. Definitely recommend and have gone out of way to stop here again

I use to come here when I was a kid and it has not changed a bit. This by far the best food and family restaurant that is not loud and are very friendly. The quality of the food is always perfect. You guys are awesome thank for always having my family and myself leave with smiles on our faces and with a full, satisfied stomach! Recommend this restaurant it everyone who wants to have a wonderful satisfying experience with yourself and family.

We had a birthday party at the Rose Garden restaurant and the food was very delicious and the serive was attentive and grat. We always look forward to ahving chinese food whenever were in Union city. The atmosphere is attractive, not noisy and not too formal where you feel uncomfortable. The restaurant has been around for awhile and food remains consistently very good- tasty - and true to a Chinese cuisine.

The Rose Garden is my favorite chinese spot on the east bay. Great service and delicious food. Love how they bring out a fresh pot of green tea as soon as you sit and the waiter/waitresses are friendly. I dont demand much service wise from restaurants and they go way above my standards. I couldnt recommend coming here more.

Love the Mongolian Beef here.. and also the General Tso Chicken! Soup is good especially sweet and sour.. and you get chocolate fortune cookies for dessert.... Service is excellent and the place is spotless... 2 people can eat for less than $20 bucks! Ryan

I come here for the beef with broccoli because they use higher quality meat than the usual Chinese restaurant. The food, including other items Ive I tasted, is very good. The service is average and the atmosphere is just slightly better than average.

Love this place! Been going here since I was a kid. Moved away from the Bay Area in 2006 and this is the must have first place I go when I come back into town! My faves: hot &sour soup, honey walnut prawn, spicy garlic chicken!!

Rose Garden is a good restaurant for a Chinese fix, however, I find that the food quality can be inconsistent at times. Other than that, this is a good place for families or friends who want to get together!
