I honestly cant comprehend what just happened to me. Its fathers day and I arrive around 3pm, put my name down, and have a seat to wait for a table. Its a pretty crowded little spot, must be good? Im not too sure because I didnt make it as far as that point. My father walks in and wants to sit at the bar until my brother arrives. We go to bar and begin to have a seat as the bar tender asks for our IDs. I pull out my ID and begin to hand it to the bar tender as he snatches it from my hand. I look at my dad to see if he was thinking what I was thinking, kinda rude? He asks what we want to drink as he tosses my ID back towards me, I just asked for a water (since its 100 degrees out today). Her looks irritated as he fills a water and points at the wall to tell me "water is over there you dont come to the bar to ask for water!" He looks at my dad by this point (as I begin to mumble "you could have told me that before you gave me the water") and asks him abruptly what he wanted to drink. My dad asks for a beer and the bar tender obviously annoyed asks what kind. When my dad replies what do you have (which I believe a valid question to ask) the man points violently at the tap displayed next to him. From this point the Spanish translation I regret to inform you is not appropriate for this Yelp review and we both stand up to leave the restaurant. On my way out I ask a waiter if I could speak to a manager. What comes next is straight out of a Mexican soap opera but I swear to you this took place. As the waiter begins to point to a man, over walks... guess who? The bar tender... yes... that rude little man was the manager! Enough said. We were gone and I would NEVER recommend anyone to waste there time on this place with that sort of uncalled for rudeness.

Would really like to give them a negative 5 stars, heres why = I was planning my sisters 60th Birthday and thought it would be a fun place to celebrate. I called 6 days ahead for reservations for 10 at 3 on a Saturday afternoon, I thought arriving after lunch rush and before dinner would be accommodating for everyone. Told them it was a birthday celebration, no problem reservations accepted! OK arrived 15 minutes early to find the place packed, people waiting for tables and I asked about our table for 10 and where would they be seating us. She looked perplexed and checked with another waitress and came back to say oh yeah we have your reservations, as soon as a table clears we will seat you. It didnt look like anyone was going to be getting up very soon, as all had full plates of food. I asked what about my reservations and her answer was yeah we are busy wtf. Standing there and waiting with my 85 year old Mom was NOT acceptable. Needless to say will NEVER patronize a place that treat customers so poorly. Very bad for business!

This place is off the hook I love going there that used to be located off Horner Street Union City now theyre on Alvarado Niles thank God they reopened their food is authentic always freshly cooked but you better plan ahead because this place is pretty packed specially on the weekend lunch isnt too bad because theres not that many people during lunch time but during dinner look out people know about the food there they love it just like me and you will too I suggest this place for all my friends and family and people in the public great food I give it a 5 theyve been open for business for over 40 years it changed hands a few times but that doesnt matter because the food is still the same the menus are still the same still fresh food

I should have known when the price info wasnt displayed publicly, but took a chance anyway. The prices are on the high side, but still acceptable. However, the waitress didnt confirm, even after I explicitly said that we wanted "half" plates, that it was for all the plates. She was borderline rude, Im assuming because we werent Spanish/Mexican in decent, but she did attend to our needs. The food was delicious. However, my youngest ordered a cheeseburger and they really should stick to Mexican food. lol.

Ive been going to Mexico Tipico for over 10 years now, starting from when it was at its old location. LOVE the food, super authentic and tasty. The salsa is by far the best salsa Ive had and I could eat that alone! The staff is kind and very willing to customize your order. I recommend this place to all my friends and I love it so much! For vegetarians I highly recommend their veggie enchiladas. Its not on the menu but theyll make it for you and its what I get everytime!!

The prices are high the food is good but the prices are higher you can definitely get better food or similar for lower prices the gentleman who work there are nice but the lady is like she is annoyed to work there could be maybe she does not get treated right at work, who knows.$13 for a burrito i think chevys is cheaper and other places are like 8 or 9 bucks. Overall food is good but expensive.

Just for the record I am an extremely picky eater must have excellent service but if the food Tops that its a place to come and visit Mexico Tipico the number one Mexican restaurant as far as Im concerned you got to come and try it bring your high expectations they will be overly overly satisfied... I know Ill be hungry tomorrow most likely Ill be here at Mexico Tipico restaurant

Very bad experience bad service the food had been sitting for a while and the crispy tacos were not crispy at all but wet when we complained about it the waitress just said shed get another shell for us the beef had no flavor the chicken had no flavor overall very bad..

I ordered a vegetarian bowl and asked for no cheese, sour cream and cheese. they put sour cream on it . I returned it and they put cheese on it. While I was eating my vegetarian bowl , I found a piece of meat in it. The prices are too high for vegetarian bowls.

Love, love, love this place. Cozy atmosphere, great food and drinks. The Mojitos (rum) are perfect. Carne asada fries, guacamole con chorizo, and the Tipico fajitas are what i recommend. Local U.C. spot perfect if you live here, me I can walk there oh and I do.

If youre craving some good Mexican, this place hits the spot. Crispy, delicious chips with spicy, fresh salsa. Ordered the flautas dinner and the portions were perfect. Great selection, great service. Definitely recommend this place.

Huge burrito and nice patio outside where I could sit with our dog and eat it. They even happily put al pastor and chorizo together in the same burrito for me! A little expensive but the portion size made up for the expense.
