BAD EXPERIENCE! Horrible service! If I cud give -5 stars I wud. We just got out of this mess called Mumbai Chowk... These people didnt: 1. Take our order properly 2. Show any responsibility to own up to their fault 3. Ask us if there is any problem when we were left in the mid of our meal with nothing to eat. Awaiting the waiter who wouldnt even acknowledge us nor the owner. These people did: 1. Make us wait for our food, btw served in the wrong order. NEWS FLASH: APPETIZERS ARE TO BE SERVED AT THE START OF THE MEAL AND NOT TO BE SERVED AS BREADCRUMBS AS A MEANS TO KEEP THE POOR HUNGRY CUSTOMERS ENGAGED TILL THE REST OF THE MEAL IS SERVED!!! 2. Ask other customers around us and got them customized service. We didnt know that we cud get MASALA PAPAD baked and not the oily mess we were served.(which was served after our chapati and curry, followed by a wait of 15 MINS for the next curry) This was our 3rd visit here. The first time we visited we were asked to write good reviews on yelp for a compensatory cup of tea. The second time we went at 9:10 (closing time is 10) and the board said OPEN but we were refused service saying that they were already closed. If you were closed, then there is a sign outside that should say CLOSED.(wrote a review on Google but looks like they took it down). And this time, for such a horrible experience how can these people earn good reviews??? Suggestions: 1. Please repeat orders if u cant get a hang of it in the first place. 2. Serve all the main course dishes at once so the poor customers arent left in the lurch and embarrassed to ask the waiter to give them the food they asked for. Who wants to follow up with a waiter who doesnt even look your way and runs off at the back to avoid the consequences. ( the poor guy was sent back during billing since the owner had disappeared) 3. They had put something funny in the tea. Smelt and tasted more like saunf. 4. Please treat customers as they should be treated and dont ignore them or do petty things like running off to avoid their outburst. Not a mature way to handle customer grievances. Never coming back here! EVER!!!!!

I had avoided going to Mumbai Chawk because it looked like a hole in the wall place from outside. But boy, looks can be deceiving. IMHO, this is one of the best Indian places in Fremont/Union City area. First the food: it is authentic and tasty. It is not your usual salty and oily Indian dish cooked 4 hours ago and placed on a buffet. Everything tastes fresh. Presentation is simple and no-frills - allowing us to focus on the taste. Service is friendly, competent, and fast. They did not have a dish we wanted but when we insisted, they made the dish (chili pakoda) just for us and it was delicious! Prices and ambience are quite reasonable. I want to thank the owners for not replicating the usual industrial Indian restaurant - you have retained authenticity and created a tiny gem in tri-city area.

Excellent place for Indian food. We actually had a huge gathering and wanted food to be catered. I called up the owner Abdul and he was so friendly and courteous. I was a bit apprehensive trying this place for the first time and that too catering for a big crowd but he just exceeded my expectations and delivered superrbbbb food. We ordered for chicken tikka, Chicken biryani, Veg Samosas and Kheer. The biryani was excellent. They gave us soo much of chicken it was unbelievable and worth a mention. Even the chutney with the samosas was very nice. The kheer was amazing and rich. I must say they never compromised on quality. They apparently have an awesome menu for people from Mumbai. I would reccommend you guys to go try out their menu. I am definetly going to go back for more.

Waited for 20 minutes for the someone to take our Order .. the food was ok .. the Chicken Manchurian we got was awful .. reheated old fried chicken and no salt in the sauce .... we complained to the waitress who just shrugged .. we said can we talk to owner and he never showed up .... didnt care i guess .... they didnt offer to refund or give a new serving seeing that we had not eaten that stale stuff !! Mistakes happen in the kitchen on busy days .. i understand .. but attitude of staff and owner was very bad ....

We used to frequent this place before we had our kid, and even after we went here occasionally even though its kinda far. We loved their wadapaav and kachchi dabeli but stayed away from their indo Chinese. However, our last visit went very badly. The food was horrible, and the service was even worse. To add the cherry on the topping, the owner added a 15% forced tip by default and refused to take it off. His reason was "San Francisco restaurants are doing it". Not sure if Id want to go here again :(

We had lunch on a Saturday. The place was packed with families. We really wanted some chaat but our kids dont do well at the nearby chaat place. Mumbai Chowk has a small chaat menu and all of the usual north indian fare, so it satisfied everybody. The food was really flavorful, light, and perfectly spiced. The hostess/server was really accommodating and gracious, especially for our spice-wimpy kids -- they made a custom plate of "chana bland", heh. Well definitely go back!

This place has good food; however, they are a horrible establishment. They will not split checks and automatically add on a TIP for their very poor service. TIPS literally means: TO INSURE PROPER SERVICE. Every time going here (about 3 times now) Ive been unsettled when leaving because of this. If I feel that youve shown me proper service then I give you a tip, it IS NOT A GIVEN. I hope the owners of this establishment change their ways before they lose all of their customers.

The service was horrible. This is the first time that I actually decide to write a review, so you can guess how dissatisfied I am. The waitress (theres only one waitress in this restaurant) is really rude. She acted really apathetic and snobbish, like she was giving me a favor. Ive checked other reviews on Yelp and Google Review in the past and it appears that she has acted like that for a while.

Brand new place. Got intro from one of my friend. The place is nice, open and bright. Apart from the standard stuff you find in most indian places, they have number of unique dishes from Mumbai and southern part of India. I enjoyed the food and service. Talking about dessert - "Double Ka Mitta" was out of this world. I highly recommend this place

Gobi Manchurian was grossly undercooked with uneven sauce spread and when we pointed it to the waitress she just said this is how its suppose to be, paneer butter masala was super diluted and the breads were alright. Dahi poori and the lime soda was the only saving grace but definitely not good enough for me to come back again.
