I love patronizing local establishments! Ive been wanting to try out this place and finally did a few weeks ago. I came here with a large group for a get together event. Since our party had about 20 people, a space was reserved for us in their back room. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and entertaining. When it came time to order, everything on the menu looked good. I am a fan of noodles, so figuring out what to order here was no problem for me. I was in a red sauce mood at the time so I decided to order the Linguine Tutto Mare which tasted good. After dinner, they gave out a small serving of an Italian dessert wine. It arrived in a shot glass so I was a bit confused that someone ordered shots for everyone. Huh?! Anyways, the best part of the evening was the dessert. Since they all seemed so delicious, some of us ordered different desserts to share. I was able to try the affogato, zabaione, tirmisu, and a cannoli. I enjoyed the zabaione the most. It was creamy, choclaty, and sweet. I hope to return again one day.

What a fabulous little place. Its a traditional Italian American eatery, with an east coast, one-generation-removed-from-the-old-country sort feel to it. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the wait staff friendly and attentive. I had a sauted perfectly cooked fillet of sole it a lemon caper glaze, accompanied by a heavenly creamy polenta and baby carrots/asparagus. I could have eaten a tub of that polenta. The wife had a gnocchi in Bolognese. The gnocchi may have been just *barely* on the chewy side, but I know how hard those are to make. She really enjoyed them, and I really enjoyed helping her with them. My kids had lasagna and cannelloni., which were devoured. Salad and soups were well done and the crusty bread was delicious. Id do this again in a heartbeat... but unfortunately we are traveling.

My husband and I found this wonderful restaurant when we were forced to stay by the airport on a business trip and it was amazing. Simply the best food (chicken marsala), that I have ever had! He loved his meal and the amaretto shots with the tiramisu at the end of the meal should not be missed. The garlic bread is made with love and you can taste it in every bite. After our first visit, I wrote a thank you note to the owner. In return he sent me a gift certificate to return. Even though we lived in Portland, OR! We moved to California a year later and returned a few times for special occasions and they always treated us like royalty! I was afraid our great food the first time was a fluke but on the return trips they delivered again. Great service, great owner, great restaurant!

While on a business trip I stumbled across an adorable little Italian restaurant...was greeted with "Buonasera signora" and the man who greeted me (I think he was the owner) gave me a quarter so I could park and stay instead of taking it to go (I only had my credit card on me). Had fabulous Eggplant Parmesan (not on the menu, by the way) with amazing sauce!! Then to end the meal, a complimentary shot of dessert wine....yuummm!! Everyone there was smiling and loving their food, great atmosphere! Thank you South San Francisco for having this wonderful place. If you are ever in the area...you must check out Buon Gusto!! Great way to end a very LONG week!! If I lived in the area I would be there at least once a week!!!

I dined here with my family just three nights ago and it was the most amazing experience, food wise. I ordered Linguine Tutto Mare, Yummy! Before entering the premises, the restaurant looked very plain and unassuming but when youve entered the place, you will feel like you stepped into a whole other world. The motif of the restaurant is family like and the food is tasty as well. You must try their dessert, Crème Brulee With Crutti Di Bosco, which has a layer of raspberry sauce - mixed berries coated in caramel. Their waiters and waitresses are all really nice, and they always make it a point to give out a smile to their customers. A very welcoming and satisfying experience, I will surely visit again!

Time after time, this restaurant has come through with outstanding service and food. My parents went there very often and our family has had parties there, as well as luncheons...not to mention all the dinners! Buon Gusto NEVER disappoints us and we are treated so well, by the owner and the staff alike. The food is consistently out of this world. It has a nice look to it, very quaint and cozy. They never rush you and always want their customers to have a pleasant experience. If youre looking for some primo Italian food and fantastic service, youll definitely want to try Buon Gusto. We will be back soon!

When we arrived at the restaurant we were warmly greeted and taken immediately to our table. Our waiter came over promptly as did the bus boy with water and bread. The waiter was wonderful, the food was amazing. If you ever get to this restaurant you must try the cioppino as it is outstanding and the sauce is incredible. This is the type of restaurant you would expect in your local neighborhood. My husband and I had a fantastic meal and will definitely come back when we are in San Francisco.

Este restaurante italiano se encuentra en la parte sur de San Francisco y cuenta con un servicio magnífico y una buena carta se vinos y comidas. Ese día no tenían las chuletas de cordero por lo que opté por la "seafood parrillada".

My Mom and I waited for 45 minutes to get our main course dish. We had to ask 2x. The waiter wasnt accommodating and he was rude. We arrived at the restaurant with 3 tables to be waited and by the time we were served the place was busy. Some of the customers were served before us. Food wasnt that great either. We asked for our dinner to have it to go and the waiter didnt even bothe to ask if everything was okay. I will not recommend this place.

Authentic is the proper word. They serve up superb groceries. Our orders were taken promptly and with humor. The Peroni on tap was the bomb. Exactly what you would expect in a South San Francisco neighborhood restaurant. The owner was on hand and he was just the nicest guy. Wish I lived here. We ordered a spaghetti to go and I ate it cold in the truck this morning. My GAWD it took an hour to pull my eyes back out of my head.

Awesome Place This place was awesome, we had good food and excellent wine. I am so happy that we found this restaurant, we will definitely eat there again when we come back to South San Francisco. If you like italian food this would be the best place to go. The service was great even though they were busy even the owner came over to us and checked on us to make sure that we were comfortable and happy with our food and wine.

Decent Italian food. As with all other South SF restaurants, everything is "just okay." Weve gone here for lunch and dinner and the environment is really reminiscent of Italy meets The Sopranos. Food-wise, pasta and salad were decent, including the large meatballs. Our server was quick and helpful, though not sure why the restaurant was so empty on both occasions we went (for lunch and dinner).
